Thank you so so much for this video. I have the same amp with the same problem. I pulled the power supply board an unfortunately all components look perfect, but via multimeter power enters this board but does not continue on to the amp stage...so something is blown. I'll prob replace the same resistor and caps that you did given it's low cost and effort, then see....thanks again!

Oh NVM you said same symptoms lol weird yeah I would think if power doesn't continue on, something on that board has to be bad! (I would think!)
ive got a channel out on #5 right side brand new unit .checked fuses .checked and dont see anything burnt .any ideas ?
My amplifier stopped working suddenly. Extremely low audio comes out of the speaker (so low you have to crank up the volume and put your ear up to the speaker). I checked the boards and fuses and everything looks fine. Do you have a link to the replacement power board? I can't find one online. If that would even fix it.

Based on the felt pads on the side of the unit, it looks like it was operated standing on its side. I wonder if that affects the cooling of the unit as the heat from the heatsinks is going to rise and go over all the other heat sources that normally would be cooling up and out the larger openings from that top plate you removed to access the internals.
That's a good point about heat rise, however my 2 soundavo units are mounted on it's side on the wall (you can see here ruclips.net/video/eOHgHG2g8aE/видео.html) and so far they are still going strong! going on year #3. So in general i would not be concerned about that. I think those little pesky creamic disc capacitors are cheap and get all the blame here!

Hi, last week a storm rolled through my area and the power temporarily went out causing all the panels to shut off. When I went to turn the panels back on, the panles would be blue but would not turn back on. One of the control panels does not come on at all (no blue light). The amplifier is on but I can not turn on ANY of the panels. Also the itach thats connected to it doesnt work either (cant turn the panels on VIA app). Can you help me with this? Thank you.
I have the exact same problem.
Itach not working. Unit powers up. I see power going to the key pads but none of the zones will turn on.
This was after a series of storms and days without power.

Same issue here, everything has power, lights on amp and keypads, but zones don't turn on.
Hey I have same Monoprice amp, I’m getting a buzzing on all the zones and speakers with and without audio playing. I reseated all the connections and still continued. I unplugged all inputs then there’s no buzzing/humming, but as soon as I connect any input the buzzing is back on. Any idea what could be causing that? Any help would be great!
Would have been nice to see the guts of the other amp that’s $1000+ more than this one with the “same” components.
"the same" major components, including that power board in particular. It has 2 linkplay streaming modules installed and 1 rs232 to Ethernet adapter to allow it to be controlled over the network with the app. With my discount code the soundavo amps are only a little more expensive still... About $300 to $400. So if these added components and better warranty and support are worth it then the soundavo amp is the better decision
