- I think the Casio A158WA-1 is the best minimalist watch you can buy. And before you come at me saying this is not minimalist, minimalism for me is not just about aesthetics!
I've had this watch for 7 years now, I purchased it for less than $20, and I haven't even had. tochange the battery. It's been with me on hikes, music festivals, underwater, pretty much everywhere.

Keeps better time than luxury watches as well.
For sure! No need to kept it wound up as well haha.
@MRCR7SHORTS it’s probably a fake. if it’s not, return it.
Yea quartz movements are great at keeping accurate time.
@@PGBlanks I don't think they both should even be compared? One needs art and engineering and the other is just the same as others with different designs..
@@tarunsaiiI think they're both impressive. A ton of work had to go into making the quartz clock, and that's impressive to me. While they may be cheap and easy to make now, they're still complex and took a great deal of effort to perfect.
100% agree with you on your statement. Minimalism isn’t just an aesthetic.
It took one accident to destroy it😂
I just had this crazy thought… if you were to bring a Rolex and a Casio back to the 18th century, they would probably be more impressed by the Casio
100% - Light up watch!??!
But even they would be like: but hath the watch not a brighter glow? Mine eyes cannot see the minute 😭. Then you show them the a168
Brain freeze 🥶
They would also be impressed by toilet paper. Strap that on your wrist today. 😂
@@signsandsymbolslol
Honestly I think its just classy. It looks smart and sharp.
I have the A168 and it's awesome!!
Where u buy this product which site
I have the version in grey, light black and I completely agree. Nice everyday watch, has all you need and looks good.
It’s simple. Not flashy. Just the type of pop you get with your outfit. Love this watch
Every seiko I wear to work I got compliments from customers, I was surprised someone complimented on this one too when I was wearing it the first time
A158 and 168 are both awesome❤
I’ve had mine 3 years and wear it every single day. I’m a machinist so coolant and chips have been on that watch numerous times, it works like new still.
Is it waterproof

I have a stainless steel 1990s Casio and I love it so much.
Goated watch, I've got mine for 7 as well
Been waiting for it to break so I can get a new one, but impossible
Is it waterproof?
100% agree with you because I also have one. I'm actually wearing it now while watching this video.
Is it waterproof
i have the silver a158 and i dont ever need another watch
Same here. Its looks beautiful with anything
It looks amazing. I always get lot of compliments on it
I love this watch definitely going to be purchasing one for myself soon
Wearing mine right now. 6 years. I get comments on it all the time but you can by it anywhere for $13. No charging required.
You don't need batteries?
@@GlitchyGlobe changing a battery once every 5-8 years or carry a charging cable with you all day just in case your watch dies isn’t the same thing
@@GrinderMagee charging cable for a Casio?
@@GlitchyGlobe I’m talking about the Apple Watch you should change your handle to subtlety retarded
Is it waterproof
That’s why I love Casio watches
that full sterling silver can not be beat
Yes I have one they are indestructible.
They are not indestructible 😂
IMO the best digital watch and also with a minimalist look is the Casio a700w. It's cheap, ultra-thin, has a clean look, essential features, and better readability and illumination.
I need this to match my silver ring and necklace
I love watches, but nothing compares to the elegance and performance of Casio. I've been using a Casio Sheen 3008D for the past 14 years, and it's still impeccable. I've also have a G-Shock GMA-S140 using it for the past 8 years now. My obsession with Casio continues, as today I bought an A700WM and need a quick tutorial on adjusting the date and time, therefore landed here and I can't help but agree with others about Casio's quality.
Just got it today. Love it.
I like the more angular shape of the A168 more
My go to watch also using for last 7 years. The main reason I bought it is because it is 💦 water proof. My Seiko 5 lost waterproof protection 7 years back. Best inexpensive watch.
Had that and a gold face digital. Lost this one and still have the gold face. They are being reliable, the low profile in convenient along with the way put on & take off! I'd recommend to anyone honestly, It's actually a period feeling to encounter someone in public with the same taste. It's like starting in the mirror at a winner!😎
Got mine in high school and its my favorite watch. I have a preference for digital watches but I really didn't like how a lot of them overdesigned or sporty. This watch on the other hand looks so minimal and retro which I loved at the time when Aliens and Blade Runner were my favorite movies. I just really like the cassette futurism aesthetic.
“It has everything you need” 😆
I have one too.. I use it for work.
It's great!
It’s a classic
Received this as an early birthday gift even engraved. Such a great watch to add to the collection, a legendary brand that'll last a lifetime practically, Glad to be apart. #April19
I got my favourite one here in pieces it’s still gives an alarm every single hour😅
*_Watching This Shorts,, With Wearing This Legend Casio Watch_* ❤️❤️❤️
I'm buying this watch now 😊
In my childhood I have used this ❤
still using it in my adulthood hahha
Went with the A168 for the Electro Luminescence 😊
Do you find it too chunky also how big are ur wrists
@@Faigh_as my wrists are small, 6-1/2" to 6-3/4". The A168 fits great and strikes me as a bit small, if anything. I'm tending to get watches that are a bit too large for me, just because most watches are. But this Casio could stand to be bigger.
@noisepuppet yea my wrists are the same I bought the a158 because its thinner. Do you find it protrudes more than you'd like it to
@@Faigh_as not at all. Especially if you wear it above your wrist bones so it's not flopping around.
I’ve seen my dad wear these for years ended up picking one up for myself
Watches have become a status symbol a long time ago.
If you look at watches from a practical perspective, this watch is a no brainer. Cheap, comfortable and very reliable. No point in spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for something that does the same thing.
Many minimalist spend a lot of time arguing over what is "true minimalism"
Not ver minimalist, that. Good for you in not having any of their nonsense :)
thanks! the worst is when people go out of their way to buy something new because of the minimal aesthetic when they have something perfectly functional at home
You mentioned you've had it for 7 years. Has the resin case developed some kind of fatigue or cracks in all these years? The resin case instead of metal is what concerns me.
Not for me, just some scratches from natural wear and tear but no cracks yet
Is it's case is made of plastic? Please answer
I have casio ae1200 it's very cool
Timeless design
A158 pr A168?
I love Casio 168
simple and classic
Can u wear it while swimming?
How to recognize that. A158 W.... Watch because not written on watch?
I know i have one and its the most beautiful watch next to my omega la magique i wear casio all the time
FYI: Get the a168, looks practically the exact same and has a much better backlight. Idk why people get the 158 anymore. Anyone know why?
Cheaper.. i bought a168
It's lighter and the body is thinner
A168 is much thicker, sticks out more. A158 is more discrete, elegant and practical.
I prefer the 168 over the 158, just because the light is much better; but I agree with Casio watches, because they are the only brand what is usually worn by everyone.
Seiko is a close 2nd followed by Citizen.
1 reason its casio thats enough reason to buy
Can you ping the link to buy this directly in offer and cheap price as by your advice
Does that have a watch screen guard on?
Lol you got it bro. If it doesn’t read my heart rate, I don't want it 🤣
Call me a boomer, but I also really don't understand the concept of charging your watch every few days.
@@PGBlanks lol
@@PGBlanks exactly, and I don't want an extension to my phone on my wrist to vibrate or light up, I know it is useful, but it can be just annoying. Especially if your phone annoys you already.
Im 31 and i prefer these kind of watches over smart watches hate charging thise things and battery dies too fast
Yes absolutely... Watches should always be RUFF_&_TUFF
Class watch mine is now 4 years
I love Casio, have 5. Including 2 Pathfinders. They rule outright 👍🏻
The WR 30 meters will get you more than 99% of where you think. Shower, swimming, washing dishes, etc. Unless you go under water, this gets you by. The silver resin case and S.S. band is also 99% for your daily occasions❤👍
Just got mine today lol
How long the battery would last?
@@ranitheEvangelist I'm on year 10 with the same battery
A168 Vs AE1200 what best do you think.?
According to you which is best A158 or A168🤔🤔🤔
havent owned the A168 but looks like it is a bit chunkier than the A158 (so if you have a large wrist may look better). And the backlight is stronger on the A168.
8 years with casio ae1000w 👍, next the a168
I like this watch but I prefer F91-W . The metal design of this watch makes it heavy compared to the latter.
I think I prefer the look of the F91-W myself! Problem is that rubber watch straps just need replacing over time and the metal ones don't haha
@@PGBlanksI replaced my strap with NATO strap. It's better than the default one.
Is the watch comfortable in the hand?
Yeah very comfortable!
Did you use protective covering?
The best gif i have received from my father 😊
But for +7.5 inch wrists
What do you recommend budget
If you like retro, wants a low maintenance watch, wants a watch you can wear while working without worrying? Then this one is a no brainer
A159 for god tier
Water resistant ??
It is super water resistant
Is it Casio A158w & CasioA158wa are same..??
Whats the difference between casio a158wa-1cr vs a158wa-1w?? 🤔🤔
Mine -6yrs old 🥹
i am so pleasantly surprised at how long the battery lasts compared to my other watches
158 or 168 please?
Can anybody confirm the water resistance on these?? Is it possible to take into the ocean? I just want a fishing watch
Casio 158 is better than casio 168 in almost all rounds,
The only do drawback being side light which i hate about this 🥺
That is why Casio is "GOD TIER" !!!
I've this model!🤩🤩 There is A168W also available and it has the similar design and having $10 extra! However, I definitely recommend 158 to everyone.
Man does the plastic case coated with resin rust?
I live in a coastal area where rusting is very dominant. I know that the bracelet is stainless steel, but will the case survive rusting?
I haven't experienced rusting and I have taken this to the beach, but our situations might vary!
How long has battery lasted you
still alive after 9 years for me
Yes I agree men
my only peeve is the light on the A158, the light is atrocious, but to fix that just get a 168, other than that the watch is perfect in every other aspect, literally.
Interesting cause I see sometimes the A168 is at the same or even cheaper price!
I think the Casio a168 is the best because the light is better
Which is better A158 or A168?
Apparently the A168 if you can find it at the same price. The backlight is better although it’s slightly chunkier. I’m super happy with my A158 though :D
Try with the Casio a700w, is thin, cheap, better backlight and a more minimalist look.
Is the case metal?
Nope, it's resin which is basically like plastic
I have it too, very good
People: light?
Me : nvm
I wish the stopwatch went for 24h instead of only 1 hour. Otherwise, it's a great watch.
Does it take too many scretches ?
only the buckle but the rest of the watch is quite scratch resistant
Only big issue is the case. I wish there were a version of this in stainless for peace of mind. Heck, I’ll even take aluminum
Which do you prefer more a158 or the a168?
haven't tried the a168 yer but I can see that it is a bit chunkier (so might be good if you have a larger wrist) and the backlight is way better (although i dont really find the a158 backlight to be bad per se)
I had one since 2019😅
I’m talking about quality ✌️♥️
You won't need to change the battery until 2029 if it's like mine!
Whats the cost in Indian rupees?
₹ 1695
i know casio a168w is more expensive but arent they the same
love it

Hey bro
Whats your wrist size?
Try the Casio AE1500WH, you can see the time from ten feet away😂
