What are your thoughts on this watch? I personally am really happy with it, the grey dial is absolutely stunning + the day and date complication comes in handy! Right now, the steel bracelet gets the most wrist time but I also really love it on the dark brown strap from the Bark and Jack shop!
The movement can be a bit annoying from time to time but it also gives you a very nice 'vintage' feeling at the same time because you have to whirl it around :-D
As always, thank you so much for watching this video 🙌🏻
    Stay happy and healthy

I bought the SNXS79K about 9 months ago. I have always preferred cases in a larger diameter, typically the 40-42mm range. The SNXS79K has become the favorite of my collection and allowed me to embrace a smaller case size which has carried over to other watches. I appreciate your assessment of the SNXS79K, especially the versatility. I have used both NATO straps for a casual look and a more robust oyster style replacement bracelet for a dressier look. Thanks for featuring this watch.

Mine just arrived in the mail. I’m 41 and see myself dailying this watch until I’m very old without maintenance, and without crying if it gets scratched up or actually breaks, which it won’t. I bought it for myself, so no emotional attachment yet.
I grew up in Queens, New York, and I remember my very old landlord daillying his vintage 60’s Seiko 5 everywhere. Especially gardening.Jerry was born in 1912 and died in my arms after falling down the stairs in 2005. I always admired his Seiko 5. Hopefully one of his great grandchildren still has it.

I had a watch with that bracelet pin removal design. I loved it. It was so easy to just push the pins out with a flat head screw driver and I liked the larger pins because they were less likely to get lost and they were easy to spot if they were about to jump ship, not that they ever did. I think it was on an old relic watch.

A great review Jenni. I purchased this watch two and a half years ago, that dial is fantastic and is the best feature of the watch. I swapped out the bracelet for a leather band almost immediately. Although it's a smaller watch as you point out it certainly looks like a flying saucer on the wrist. Accuracy varies but is within ~10 seconds per day. The price now on Amazon is over double what I paid for mine as the popularity of this piece has grown significantly. Usually the opposite happens to me, prices usually plummet within days if items I purchase. Overall the watch is a great all rounder, the lack of hand winding is no issue as long as you shake it for 20 seconds or so from stopped it keeps it keeps ticking fine for a day on the wrist, another 20 seconds shake will easily keep it running through the night. The lack of hacking does not bother me that much as I set mine up to a minute fast any way. It also looks good on my 7" wrist (not huge) as much as it works well for members of the itty bitty wrist committee :-) Keep up the great work Jenni.

I have the silver version (SNXS73) which is still available. It is one of the cheapest yet most expensive looking watches in my collection; particularly the dial is just flawless. Its size is just classy on my 7 inch / 175 mm wrist. The watch is only considered authentic on a Chinese Rolamy Oyster bracelet though which beefs up its look considerably. I reserve mine for dressy occasions (where also its water resistance is no concern) though it fits virtually any attire. Definitely a must-have. I've worn my white face model of this SNX for about 4 years now. I wear it at work and school and in my normal life all day everyday. Keeps time like a champ and better than my SRP that I wore for about 4 months. Not 10 bar resistant like the SRP but for $100 I get plenty of compliments on it and is truly a monster. I do not have any higher end watches to compare it too but I highly recommend this watch to anyone.

This is a great video that outlines what amazing value for money Seiko delivers. I have built a few mods myself and have taken them to a watch maker to regulate them and the NH36s have achieved a +/- 6 seconds accuracy. This is well within Seiko’s own specifications.

Hooray, a watch I own! Kind of, anyway. I have a 73, which is the silver dial version. Fantastic watch. Mine runs at +1.4 seconds per day! I never actually need to have hacking or handwinding, though I sometimes think I do... The dial and hands are gorgeous, the case is comfortable, and after 2 months I have no scratches on the crystal. (And I kind of like the rattly, old-school bracelet... I think it looks nice and I find it very comfortable.)

Mine arrived this morning. 185.00 CDN at Amazon. It's a true beauty. Very easy to set. Took ten minutes to resize the bracelet. No big pain at all. Sharp end of a pair of scissors popped the links out no problem. I was concerned about the size of the case back, but I don't notice any difference really from my other non-automatics. Sits nicely on my wrist. The common failure of this watch has been mentioned is the bracelet, but I find the brushed bracelet/polished case a nice contrast. Very happy.
Thank you Jenni. I originally thought about a fake Oyster, but after watching your reviews of the Seiko 5, I opted for this. Very glad I did. Keep up the great work. Your reviews are candid, factual and fun. Have a Merry Christmas everyone from us here in Nova Scotia, Canada.

I have both the 79 and the 73 (silver dial), which were two of my first automatic watches. Love the dial. Agree with you that it would be better if the lugs curved down and the case were less of a UFO from the profile. Also wish the case were a bit less polished. Some brushing would be nice. The secret to removing the difficult links is to use a regular flat screwdriver with a thin head (rather than a spring bar tool or watch screwdriver), and hold it perpendicular to the link. It catches the little nub if you press down and forward. I don't wear mine as often as I used to, but both are on straps.

Basically, the 7S26 movement is bullet-proof and will go on for a long time, well past its service life. Non-hackable/non-windable but as an old-school movement its ultra-reliable and quite accurate. I was lucky to buy its predecessor used about a year ago for an equivalent of USD 40 and it's awesome. It's one or two millimeters thinner as it has a solid case back, plus it has an older caliber, which runs incredibly precisely (within +2 s/d). Much more consistent than two newer 7S26 watches I have. And the old movement also has a cool feature that the day of the week is set by pressing the crown like a pusher... I polished the case and had the crystal swapped and now have a super cool dress watch. BTW I tried swapping the bracelet for a cheap oyster replica, but I ended up going back to the original, which is more comfortable and, despite being flimsy, much more pleasant to the touch.

I have an SNK381 on a leather strap., I call it my poor man's Hamilton Khaki Field watch. For 105.00, it punches above it's weight. The 7S26 movement is accurate within -2 s/d. I don't care if it doesn't have hacking or hand winding. Accuracy is my number one requirement, and it delivers in spades. You really should review that watch. It's Seiko's true classically styled field watch. It makes it really difficult to pony-up 300.00 additional dollars for a more expensive field watch

And I don’t think the bracelet is annoying at all. The OP used to be my everyday watch, but since I got the Seiko, I’ve used it more than my OP. There is a big different between them, but i gotta say, I would recommend the Seiko to anyone because it’s so good for around 200$.
