OMG fellas!! We are 2 years into jeep ownership now. I used to do stuff like that back in the 70's with a 73 Toyota land cruiser fj40. Would you ever be interested in taking my wife and I along for a ride of that sorts in the near future?? That looks like a very good place to start.
@@CoddiwompleOverland That would be awesome. We were not able to make it to the GSMJI this year but are definitely planning next year. I watched you r video on it a few hours ago. Would love to meet up and do some trails like that. thanks a million.
Greatly enjoyed. I have a Tundra double cab. Been wanting to overland but am weary of the size. These videos gave me a good idea what I’m up against. Thank you!
You are welcome. You could definitely overland your Tundra. Just start on easier stuff and upgrade as you go to be able to do more difficult trails if that is what you want to do. Just get out there!
Outstanding as always! And yes a video of water crossings with basic section locations would be a awesome tool for some of us... I do have a snorkel but also my adventure buggy is a Renegade so having some fore knowledge of obstacles and water crossings is priceless!
Thanks for the feedback! We are glad that you like the videos. We plan on having the entire KAT main sections done by late spring or early summer and will probably put that video together soon after that.
@@CoddiwompleOverland is this primarily the main loop and when you picked up the DBBB to stay off Spas Creek, how would I know where to make the switch? I use the KAT GPX for nav. Also interested in lift and tire size on your Jeep. Thx.
Thomas. If you download the DBBB gpx. and add that to your map (I assume you are using GAIA), you will be able to see the split on the south end of the DBBB. The other way is to follow Hard 11 on the KAT. It is the same route. I had the hard layers turned off and do actually realize it was a hard section of the KAT until we were almost of it and met up with some dirt bikes. My lift is a Teraflax leveling kit with 305/70r17 tires. Thanks for the questions!
Arne and Carol from Michigan again. It’s nice to know other seniors are exploring. One conclusion I’ve come to is “ if my Al- Terrain had a higher IQ I would not get stuck as often.” 74 yrs.
Love the video! Keep up the work. Can't wait to see part 3. You should try and post a screen shot of your exact route and maybe do a walk around of your Jeep and the Ram. I've rode some parts of the trails you were on and would love to ride more!
Cody, thanks for the compliments and great suggestions! We really appreciate the input and will be implimentioning both of those soon. We had a great time riding these trails too. Maybe we will catch up with you out there sometime.
Once you guys came off the trail (along Smith Road) onto the 715, which way did you go....right? Then did you turn left off of 715 at Rogers to continue the trail back on up to Slade? Once you advised you got onto the 715 I was unable to figure out the route you took from there on out to end the day.
Here is a link to our track for that day. We had already done the DBBB section of the KAT, so we bypassed that loop. www.gaiagps.com/public/LV97C7lG4ahVeelLxFWMeMIP
Excellent videos! My wife and I have enjoyed watching them all! We just purchased a JKU last month and really want to get into overlanding and exploring the KAT. Just curious what size tires you are running as well as lift/suspension. the Jeep will be my wife's daily but we want to do the necessary things to make it trail worthy. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for watching! We are glad you all are are enjoying them. We really like our JKU. We are currently running a Teraflax leveling kit, 305/70r17 tires and 17x9 wheels with 4.5in.of backspacing. This setup is great for a daily and is very capable on the trail. We will be posting our upcoming trips on our FB page, you all are welcome to come along!
Yes do a water crossing video! Deb’s cooking makes me hungry!
👍 🙂
Thank you for not only showing beautiful Kentucky, but showing seniors can do this !🤗🇺🇸
You are welcome!
You think that creek crossings at 14:20 maxed your comfort levels. We did it with three jeep renegade s and a liberty.
Creek crossings....more info yes. This is where most would turn back. Reconnections on thoughts and vehicles.
Thanks for watching and input.

Alan and Nancy are very young heart and are always up for an adventure. When it comes to overlanding, they always go with us.
Arne and Carol, when I turn off the “traction control”, my wife always says ( Excuse!! Me) 😱😱
LOL!!!
Would love to join you guys some day! Live in Oneida.
You are welcome anytime!
are there a website or some place to get maps for the kentucky trail? thanks, great videos!
Thank you. Go to the Kentucky Adventure Tour FB page to get the map file
@@CoddiwompleOverland thank you
Which fender flares do you have for your Jeep? I love the look of those! Also check out the Perry County Offroad Tour! I think you’ll love it
They are EAG. And thanks I will check it out.

Hello what’s your headlight brand
I'm not sure of the brand, we got them from Amazon....
What month was this filmed in?
February
Awesome area! Would love to head down there from Ohio, but my F250 is a big girl, probably got a few inches on the Ram even.

Great video. Aside from the detours, was your route all on Main 2 or did you opt for some Hard sections?
One of the detours was hard 11. Other than that, it was the main route. Thanks for watching!
