I wondered around LBL for 17 years. Good to know people still enjoy its beauty. I haven't seen that place in 12 years. I miss being in the woods with minimal equipment to survive for weeks if not months at a time. One with nature is one with god.
I’ve officially joined the Jeep family. Just bought a 09 Wrangler Unlimited 4dr. It has a 4” lift with 35’s on it with great after market bumpers front and rear. I just need to add a decent winch and I’ll be ready. Love the thing already. Keep the great videos coming. Love your content.
That's awesome to see another big body out in the woods. When I had my RAM in the United Kingdom, I got a ton of stares from all the guys in their Land Rovers. Many were surprised at how capable the big truck is. Would like to hit up some trails with you all some time!
Same thing happen to me with my PW Winch the plug came undone but had to be taken apart plug now exposed and zip tired. But I leaned quickly pull out cable and rewind winch just to use it at least twice a month more if getting it muddy and wet. Less problem on the trail then. A lot of Winches never get used and then Seize up. Happy trails
i will say 1 think when u pack the gear u pack te gear . it reminds me of when my dad would pack up the camping gear box i thnk he got the idea from a scout masters guide he had everything for the outdoor kitcked im 1 wooden box that was smaller than a48 qt coler (I wish i had it yet)
You always find such beautiful camping spots! It is so nice to just stop and enjoy the beauty! That trail was a little bit rugged, huh? 😃 Great adventure guys!!
We may have provided you entertainment as i only have 34” tires on.. would have been interesting to see if it made it through. I’m sure you would have filmed me getting stuck, right? Lol
Pro tip : go to where not a lot of people go. Reason being, over the years I've noticed that the well ridden trails are getting deeper and deeper over the years. What I mean is the " ruts " in the ground. This causes jeepers to go bigger tires and taller lifts just to go through what was possible with a stock set up years ago. Sad part about that too is , it pushes budget builders out of some nice wheeling trips. Just my 2 cents.
Really enjoyed ur vid. Love that area and have wheeled there many times. Have learned, over time, the best mud wheelin is WATCHING someone else take their rig through it. If ya give two hoots about maintenance, it’s such a complete PITA to clean up afterwards 😂. Yes, I’m getting old. 😉
We’re in Greenville SC , we have a PW and love wheeling. Planing trip to Moab UT. We can’t find people that want to explore. There are jeep clubs but have to have jeep can’t find just a club or people thT just want to explore. If you want someone to explore with give us a shout.
@@CoddiwompleOverland I used to live very near there and ran around the area a lot, but, that was years (lots of) ago. Matter of fact, I’ll be there next weekend for a class reunion...
I would like to see you add GPS Coordinates to some of your campsites in the video descriptions instead of just all affiliate links. Would go a long way for followers.
We have the en-suite double and have been waiting on our shower from them for months.. its got stuck in CA on the ship and we are hoping it gets to us before I leave for Oregon.
My dad and I were just down there I’ve the weekend. We used the camp spot just up from persimmon beach. How do you distinguish the 100, 200, and 300 level trails? We were just kinda on the trail that the front bumper lead us to.
100 trails are in Kentucky, 200s are in Tennessee. Both are atleast fairly well maintained. 300 roads are less maintained and are definitely rougher. You can find the routes on the MVUM.
Thanks for all the great videos. My wife and I are thinking of making a trip to Land between the Lakes between Christmas and New Year. We’ll be there in a Jeep Wrangler and a 4Runner. Do you think the trails will be passable this time of the year or would we be wasting our time. Thanks
We have only been there in July. We are not sure how the trail conditions would be in December. You may want to look up the Penny Rile Jeep Club. They are on Facebook super great group from the area.
Looks awesome! But I have to ask, what do you do for Mosquitos? I saw no mention of them and no hand swatting? There has to be millions of them in the woods, and it appears there aren’t a one. What’s the secret?
We call it crock pot pizza at home as we make it in the crock pot. On the trail, we call it kettle pizza. Cook spiral noodles and set aside. In separate pan, add a layer of pizza or spaghetti sauce and noodles. Then, add a layer of your favorite pizza toppings. More sauce and cheese then repeat layering. Heat till hot. ~Deb
Looks like a great trip, I have family that live right near LBL. Did that ram have any kind of locker in the axles at all? I also was wondering are you still enjoying your lunch box locker in the rear of your jeep ? Thanks looking forward to part 2
@@kellypw8186 thanks I was just wondering how tuff it was with or without lockers. I do enjoy love watching your trips, looks like so much fun. I am trying to find someone to install my Eaton truetracs in both of my axles. Every shops are months out or not even accepting new work. 🤦♂️

LBL is a beautiful area for sure.
Am I the only one who wants the "Coddiwomple Overland Recipe Book?" Some of the meals you all prepare look so dang good!!
You are not the only one! Deb is working on it! Thanks for watching
I said the same thing!
I miss it out there. I grew up in Marshall Co. Used to go camping out there all the time.
It's a great place
The power wagon is going sideways like a crab on the beach 😆 🤣

That clay gets pretty slick, the mud holes are getting bigger every year. I love how you narrate during the videos!
Thank you!
How did I missed this video..I watched almost all your content.
😁 Not sure glad you found it.
Just started watching your channel. I am really enjoying them and always look forward to the next one!
Thank you.
I live very close by, and do quite a few nights in LBL. I've only gotten Persimmon beach one time...in November...
Yes and since they graded the road it's even harder.
Nice job on the video! Looks like a great time.
Thank you
At 15:12 it looked PW was drifting lul. Anyway great video Really enjoyed it

Old memories are the best!
Only clay mud I’ve been in like that is the dry lake beds out west after a storm. The one near Pahrump, NV was really bad.
That is Ky 😂
@@CoddiwompleOverland good to know.

Great video! Are the 300 roads in the Turkey Bay Area? Was out there a couple of weeks ago and didn’t see those. Thanks!
They are not in Turkey Bay. 300 roads are part of the road system.

@@CoddiwompleOverland the en-suite must be shipping local but the shower was coming from Australia. There was the problem.. got stuck on a container..
As usual another 👍
Thank you!
What was your water source for the shower? I didn’t see a water can, but I did see a big lake!
The big lake was our water source!
Awesome video as always. Was that a collapsible bowl she was boiling water with? Pretty sweet
Yes, it is a Sea to Summit

Better yet test the winch each time before you head out on an adventure.
That's a good idea! Thanks for watching!

Hey should have aired down in the Cummins
He was aired down and it's a Hemi. He could have aired down a little more but it probably wouldn't have helped in this situation.
What area was the 357 trail? We ride up there some but I’ve never seen that one. Looks like fun
South west. It is a forest service road. It's not in Turkey Bay
@@CoddiwompleOverland thanks. We are going back in a couple weeks. We are always looking for more mud holes
There is definitely some there.
any provision for "staking in" those traction boards? or maybe tying them off to a tree further ahead??
That could have possibly worked
Do you have a pin for your basecamp? Looks like one I might want to try when Persimmon Beach is occupied!

On this trip yes
What state are ya folks in

So what was the problem with Kelly’s winch?
The contact box was corroded
@@CoddiwompleOverland glad it wasn’t something more serious!
Us too
Saltwater + electronics = corrosion :(
True
Trail names?
356 is where Kelly got stuck. In LBL the roads are numbers. 100's, 200's and 300's the 300 roads are mostly dirt and harder roads.
Typical warn winch. I got 2 that never work.
Kelly's has sure seen its share of time underwater
