Just found your program. We’re 74 yrs. my wife drew up in Glasgow Kentucky. We love the same things. I’m disabled and can’t shovel much or push so we travel in a HD/GMC al terrain pickup. WhenI do get stuck it’s expensive. We are also antique collectors been buying since 76. You have courage too. Keep up the good work. Michigan
Newly subbed an so glad I found your videos! Would be open to find other Jeepers/ Overlanders to do a weekend of a scenic part of KAT. Would be planning on looking at spring of '23 for those interested.
Glad you found our channel and thanks for the sub. Try posting on Kentucky Overland Facebook alot on that page run the KAT. We are not sure what our schedule is yet for 2023.
Thanks.for.the compliment! If you think thats a good suspension, watch the upgrade video where we install and review the Clayton Overland + lift kit. Thank younfor watching!
Just completed 314 miles on the Kentucky Adventure Tour (KAT Main 2 4x4) from Jellico, TN to Livingston, KY yesterday. I must say it was an amazing trip and beautiful country. Wildcat Battlefield was amazing. Did have to use the bypass around the deep water crossing at Rock Castle River, water was just too high. But other than that, we completed the entire section over 2.5 days. Camped one night at Bell Farm Horse Camp. So you can add that to your list of camp spots. Was free and we had the entire place to ourselves. Your videos helped alot with the trip as I was able to know a little about what to expect. Please keep up the good work.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Nice , Bilstein shocks were a game changer for me on my lifted grand Cherokee. Great comfort , travel and on road manners. Not to mention , a shock that won't break the bank. I have the GIIRO bushings on my long arms at the body mounts and clevite bushings at the axle.
Hey guys. Wife and I are planning on doing this route (KAT Main 2 4x4) this weekend. From Jellico to Livingston. I'll be driving a 2015 4Runner Trail Edition with 2.5" lift, 33" Mud Terrain tires, all the toyota traction aids (rear locker, crawl control, A-trac, etc). Any adivice you can give? Main things I DONT have on my 4runner yet are rock-sliders, skid plates, front winch bumper & winch. Not planning on doing absolutely any of the "HARD" sections (according to the map). Will just be me and the wife so any info you can give will be greatly appreciated. thanks
I think you will be fine. It sounds like your rig is plenty capable enough. Take a saw, you never know when a tree may be in the way. If you aren't comfortable with an obstacle, turn around and find a reroute. Have fun and be safe! Let us know how your adventure went whenyou get back!
Looking to go to Mammoth Cave in a couple of weeks, are there jeep trails around there? I am still trying to figure out Gaigps and understanding the roads and colors.
planning to take a small group of built jeeps on the KAT. Looking at your video posts would you recommend taking Main 2 to Main 1 for a weekend overland trip or is that to long or to short to cover in a two day (one night) trip? Any input, suggestions or route advice would be welcome. We are not from or familiar with the KY area. If those who trailer their rig is there a suggested location that the truck and trailer can be left? Thanks
Main 2 alone is over 240 miles. We generally do about 100 miles a day. Depending on your travel habits, All of Main 2 may be a stretch for 2 days of travel
Coddiwomple Overland, do you have GPX files that you would be willing to share for Main 2? I think we are looking around slade but just aren’t sure we’re we should start and end to just do Main 2? Thanks
Never watch these types of shows how amazing and that orange jeep is awesome my brother explained the suspension never knew Im hooked
Thank you guys
Thanks for watching

Travis, the hillclimb is on main 2 at
36.51967, -84.42576
We had a blast and thanks for watching!
What would be a great all day trail to hit in Kentucky? We would be traveling from Michigan.
What type of vehicle do you have?
@@CoddiwompleOverland Jk that is built for off roading. We do Moab and Colorado trails but was looking for something a little bit closer to home.
The Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway. You can go to ridethedbbb.org
Nice Job!
Appreciate it!
I've enjoyed quite a lot of your videos. You guys seem to be out on the trail all day . Are you on stock bushings and what do you have for shocks ?
Thanks, we use the bushings from the brands of lifts that we use mostly. On the orange jeep we use Bilstein shocks.

Looks awesome man. What was the name of the route you took that wasn’t on the KAT? I love camping next to water. Planning a trip for next month.
It was O&W road
Doing the main 2 in April. How long did it take to do ?
3-4 days
What is the location of natural pond under the cliff. I'm going exploring in that area next weekend wanting to find it?
Send us a email to contact@coddiwomple-overland.com and we will get it to you.
Just discovered your channel. Awesome stuff. Do you have coordinates/location information for the KAT and these places you've visited?
Glad you like the channel. You can find the KAT route on their FB page. And the same for the Smokey Mountain 1000. Hope this helps!

I am not sure about the Mammoth Cave area
