Hi Sara. Would that binding piece be 2”? And if I choose not to have the sides enclosed in the side seams, then I assume I’d just do basically the same technique on the sides. Right?
Thank you Sara, this is a great tutorial! I do have a question/concern, with using the wonder tape, wouldn't it gum up your sewing machine. I love the idea of it but I'm too scared that I will ruin my sewing machine! Thank you so much! 💚
Thank you for your great tutorial. You are very clear in your instructions. Just a thought-with the zipper ends, would it be a good idea to reinforce them?
Aloha Sara... I absolutely love this method of adding a mesh pocket... Two issues for me... IF I'm using a mesh pocket in a boxed bag, I just cut the corners out and integrate the mesh into the boxing of the corners, yes? No problem for me there... * * * IF I want to add an inch or two of mesh ABOVE the zipper in your example above (eliminating the orange zippered pocket you have installed in this project... I imagine that I create that piece of mesh with fabric binding on top and bottom... the bottom piece to be applied to the zipper itself (replacing what you're doing to the top of the zipper in this demo)... and the uppermost binding is sewn across the entire length to the lining to close off the pocket so access is ONLY through the zipper. * * * I can picture it in my mind... it might not be exactly the words that are comin' out my mouff... LOL * * * Until that time. . .
You make everything look sew easy. Thank You for all the wonderful videos
Thanks Sara. This was very helpful. I have the materials to make a mesh pocket in a bag. Now I know how to do it!!! I’m a proud bag lady! Great job!
Merci beaucoup pour ce partage ! C'est très bien expliqué, il n'y a plus qu'à s'y mettre !

Did you use a zig zag stitch or straight stitch while sewing mesh to binding? Also what were the measurements of the binding?
Oh my goodness I love that panel with the additional pocket! What pattern is that panel from?
That what I would like to know.
What is the width of binding fabric?
Which pattern or project does this go with?
Can anyone tell me the pattern in which this panel comes from?
What is this panel a part of? Like which bag or pattern?
Sara Lawson thanks!
Hi, what was the answer? Thanks
Also with mesh, make your stitch length shorter to Incorporate the mesh because of all the holes in it… Just a quick tip

Tina George Hi Tina, I have used Wonder Tape a few times and it has never gummed up,the needle.
Hi! Wha the stitch length do you use since the mesh is a little stretchy? Thanks. 🌸🌸
I use the same stitch length but I am really careful to clip a lot and not pull as I sew. You can always trim the mesh afterwards if it stretches out.
Thanks! 🌸🌸
