I have watched a lot of zipper pouch tutorials. This is by far the best one I have seen. You do a great job of describing every step. Especially how to insert the zipper without getting the edges all wonky.
Your videos are wonderful Sara. I’m a 70 year old bag lady and I’ve been making bags for many years, but I still learn so much from you. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work and keep shining your bright light into the world. We love you,
I'm a new bag lady. I keep selvedges and even small scraps - waste nothing! I'm a dog and cat lover and owner and my little darlings love to visit me in my sewing room. I find it helpful to store fabric in clear lidded containers to avoid pet hair. Love your teaching style Sara.
Not a bag lady yet but you have inspired me to try.....so I’m an ALMOST bag lady. At the moment I have one cat and one dog and a cockatiel! Greeting from England.
Sara, your videos are by far the best on the web when concerning sewing bags, i have bought a lot of them already on your website and once in awhile i go and rewatch them. Thank you for being such a great inspiration.
I am a bag lady! Ive made dozens of bags for myself, friends, and to sell, on occasion. I also save my selvedges! I want to make a cute bag from this pattern but I'm currently making large pieces of fabric using selvedges to reupholster my old sewing chair. Really glad to find your tutorial for hints using selvedges.
I'm A new Bag Lady. Enjoyed the selvege zipper pouch tutorial. I've subscribed and look forward to more tutorials.
I am definitely a bag lady - just wish my bags looked as beautiful as yours. So enjoy your tutorials as they are very informative, always interesting and fun. Thanks to you, and Danny, for taking such time and care with them. Xo
2 cats 1 dog...they all sleep together, well sometimes. Loved your video💚
I am a bag lady. I have 3 cats that help me in my sewing. I am watching as an ex-pat in Central Mexico and really enjoy your videos!!
I have watched you many, many times before I get brave enough to make of your bags. I love your patterns. I am subscribed to your site.
I'm a bag lady and have learn a lot from you. Have many patterns from you 🥰
I do save each selvages & I made several pin cushions with them; plus now you can buy selvage packages of a fabric line. Love to make other projects with them also.
I finally got to make this one today. I love it. Thank you for the tutorial and for such a fun idea!
I have 2 cats, Pepita (13 years old) and Carry (3). And I love bag making !!!! I have made around 40 pencil cases/zipper pouches/make up bags since I learned how, and I am not going to stop. I don't have any selvages, because I buy 1 or 2 metres of fabric, or just enough for the project I'm working on, but I am definitely going to try this pouch , it looks so original.
Hi Sarah, I am a bag lady too, and I learned a lot from you ! Greetings from Brussels, Belgium. Ornella
The Osolo bag is the next one on my make list, can't wait to get it started. I'm a bag lady who does keep salvages, but haven't used them yet. I have 2 dogs and 8 chickens. :)
Hi Sara, I'm a bag lady, and love making your bags.
I’m a bag lady. I do save my selvages, but haven’t made anything with them, yet. Now I will make this zipper pouch!
I just came across your RUclips Channel and I'm totally a bag lady. I've always been a cat lady but we just rescued a dog from the shelter so now we are both!
Where do we sign up for the newsletter. Fun being a bag lady and you are a wonderful teacher. Thank you
I'm a bag Lady!I love the fat quarter bundle their gorgeous prints. I have a cat and I do save my scraps. I love your channel I'm learning so much I just wanted to say thank you!
Hi! Great videos! I have 2 dogs. One I have had since she was 4 days old. I also have nursed/domesticated kittens from feral cats around my home and found homes for them so they become good pets.
Yes, I'm a bag lady - making clutches, clutch/wallets, purses, overnight bags. And, I do save selvages and use them to make placemats for Meals on Wheels (and I use batting scraps that are pieced for these donations).
I have both cats and dogs! I love you and your tutorials and tech guy.
I am a bag lady!! Love your videos!! I have no animals!
I had not been saving my selvages but I will now after seeing this video.
Yes, I use them to tie bind assorted things & I use them on finer fabrics seams to stabilize it like growgrain ribbon is used . Have you ever used the selvages along the zipper edge where the fabric usually frays? Yes I am a big bag lady:)
I’m definately a Bag Lady, but just recently found you. My first pattern to try was the Oriole and I live it. THANKS.
Hi Sara love all of your videos and yes I am a bag lady. Love all bags.
I have been saving selvages for years.
This is exactly the zipper insertion technique I have been looking for! Thanks so much!
Sara, wonderful tutorial, I’m a bag lady and a cat lover!
I am thinking I will make a copy of the pattern pieces which have darts so I have an intact pattern for future use.
You are such a beautiful sewer your instructions are very clear and your so neat you make it look so easy.
Thank you😜
I have never understood the attraction of making things out of selvages, when there are so MANY beautiful fabrics to choose from.
because the selvedges are beautiful and fun too.
I have a dog called Snickers. She has been a therapy dog until she went deaf. The most sweet dog.
Hi Sara! Thank for a lovely tutorial. I wish you would teach us how to make an inset zippered pouch. Thank you!
I’m a Bag Lady ADDICT !!! Keep them coming, I ❤️❤️ them !!!
When adding the tabs does it reduce the size of the zip? For example if I want a 6" zip will I end up with a 5" zip? Or should I cut a 7" zip to end up with a 6" zip? Sorry if this all sounds a bit confusing, I am new to crafting/sewing and so I am just learning all these new techniques. Love your videos> Thank you :)
❤️ the idea of this 💼, I save selvages...they are so cute!
love your bags Sara, enjoy your tutorials thanks for the inspiration
I'm a bag lady and proud of it!
Most definitely a bag lady. I love making them.
Yes I save salvages and i am a scrapper love making scrappy bags and quilts
Love your video tutorials! I have been saving selvages, so your selvage pouch tutorial is perfect! I have a dog named Lucy =)
Sara could Danny post his video about the sewing machine light separately as a stand along short video? Love all of your videos, the ones I've purchased and especially the free ones. You are awesome!
Hi sSara loved your tutorials thank you so much you make sewing in zippers so easy
Great tutorial... Can you also show eyespy pouch tutorials pls....they looks so beautiful
I'm with William, I don't like Mexican food either. Do you suggest that we print this pattern using a different percentage or is there a better way to make this bag in a different size? I love the way you explain everything. Thank you for these videos Sara.
I put all unusable scraps in a bag and use as stuffing for pet beds for a local shelter.
yes, I save the special ones, with names, color dots etc
I save selvages when they're cool. I have a box full now and am ready to do something with them.
I have cats. I'm a cat lady AND a BAG lady!! Your bags look great I can't wait to make one. I've made many bags, but not many with zippers........but I'm ready. thanks
I have a bag that has some selvages, but I'll start saving them all.
Yes, I save my selvidges. Any scraps I have, I donate to the local school, even the tiny pieces they can use, so never throw anything away
Beautiful and very easy to make.
Hi Sara, I really loved this video and want to make this bag for my niece (and for myself!). I was wondering why you used a 1/4 inch seam allowance for the exterior of the bag and 3/8 inch for the interior? I have made several small pouches and no one has ever mentioned this before, so I am curious. Thanks!
Hi April you do that so the lining will fit snug inside the pouch. If you did it the same seam allowance it would fit a little baggie inside.
Love the bag! What size do I cut the zipper tabs? I couldn’t find any dimensions?
It's in the cutting instructions - the link is in the video description: sewsweetness.com/2017/10/video-selvage-zipper-pouch.html?v=8e3eb2c69a18 (3 x 1 1/2)
Bronwyn Carr thank you!
I'm so a bag lady! I love making any kind of bag. No pets but I love dogs 🐶
Both, 2 cats, 2 dogs. My daughter got her Sphinx Kitten from the Ukraine tonight.
thank you for showing how to attach a tag on a zipper I'm finally clear about this.
Hi sara I like everything you do
I need to know how to fix the zipper from the two sides of the pouch
When i make it looking not nice
I save those selvages! I am proud to be a baglady, and I have a 16 1/2 year old Yorkie!
Nice work, clear directions.
Interested in the neutral Aurifil pack.
Only save salvages to help turn fabric tubes or difficult things to turn inside out. It works wonders. Otherwise, I don't use them for projects - there are too many wonderful fabrics to use!
I’m with your son on that because I don’t like Mexican food either! I am a bag lady! My coworkers started calling me a bag lady because I went through a phase when t was making all kinds of tote bags and I took them to work!
I am definately a dog lover at heart, but I do love all animals.
When you make zipper tabs is it standard to always make the zip tab a quarter inch short on each side of the project?
Sara Lawson thank you 😁
I used to be just a quilter, but I am a big bag lady now :)
Thank you for your video. I cannot access for templates for selvage zipper pouch on your website. Please reply. Thank you
I'm a bag lady! No pets at the moment. We lost both of our dogs two years ago and have been traveling too much to get another just now.

Sometimes I save them. Depends on how pretty they are!
