    Usually d-rings, but after watching this, I think I will use the rectangles more. Thanks for another great video!

    Thank you for the pdf. I really appreciate having these patterns for the tabs. I will certainly use them to improve the next bag I make, where I would probably just have sewn the handles into the top seam. It will be terrific to have these attractive options instead. I am a fairly new viewer and subscriber and I have been enjoying your videos and have learned a lot from each of them. You have an excellent way of presenting material. You speak clearly, have thought through and prepared what it is that you want to say (it's surprising how many presenters don't seem to do this and just speak off the cuff without preparing exactly what they want to say). And the material you present is clear and very easy to understand. Each video is very entertaining as well as informative. Your expertise is clear to see. Many thanks. All the best from a new friend in Canada.

    I was looking for something like this a few weeks ago. I made my own but your's look so much better. 8-) 1" rectangles, 1/2" swivel clips and D-rings, magnetic snaps. I would say these are my most used pieces of hardware.

    I'm re-making a purse I have loved for 3 years and making adjustments. My biggest one is the Purse tab was in between the zipper and the body of the purse. Unfortunately it didn't hold well. I had to sew it to the body but I doesn't look nice. In my new bag I want it to look nice. There is no gusset. Would I sew one side to the front body and the other side to the back body? I want it to hold up. Using quilting cotton and fusible fleece

    Hello, I’m struggling because I am making tabs from a rectangular rings and the fabric continues yes to slide to the smaller side of the rectangle. Why is this happening? Would interfacing prevent this?

    Nice video...in regards to your “turner”, does this work well with leather, vinyl, cork fabrics? Beautiful fabric....is it Tulia Pink’s?

    • @sewsweetness
      @sewsweetness  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Ruth! The fabric line is called Outback Wife. I usually like leaving the edges of cork, leather, or vinyl raw rather than try to turn them, which might be tricky with such small pieces and the stiffness of the substrates compared to quilting cotton.

    Is there an instance where you would have to use a square piece as opposed to a D ring? Thank you.

      I think most of the time it's simply aesthetics.

  • @jeniferalvarez2914
    @jeniferalvarez2914 4 года назад

    I have maybe a dumb question...what are tabs on bags used for? I see a lot of people who make with small tabs (that doesn’t have the hardware) and it just seems like it’s a silly little ‘frill’ (that’s not really the right word is it?)

    • @bronwyncarr6714
      @bronwyncarr6714 4 года назад

      If you watch from the 8 minute mark, you'll see Sara attach hardware to them and attach the tabs to the bags. Then you'll attach the straps to that same hardware. I find hardware blings up a bag and takes it from homemade to handmade!

    • @jeniferalvarez2914
      @jeniferalvarez2914 4 года назад

      I understand what hers are for and I asked what the ones without hardware are for. I’ve seen people that make small cosmetics bags and sunglass cases that use a small piece of fabric and sew it onto the side of the item and I don’t understand what they are for. It just looks like something weird is hanging off the side of the bag for no reason. Like in this sunglasses case tutorial ruclips.net/video/xGo3TEZhojE/видео.html I just don’t understand. I don’t know if I’m missing something and that these really do have a purpose....

    Why did you glue the cork together and not just use a single layer, since you won't see the back side? I'm going to try soon!
