I’ve been thinking of trying the invisible strap connectors and remembered watching this video a long time ago (before I was ready to try it lol). Glad I found it again because your method is awesome. I wasn’t a fan of raw edges so love this. Going to test it out this weekend. Thanks so much 😊
I love what you do but for some reason the sound is so low on my phone or IPad It’s really hard to hear you. I don’t know if anyone else has that issue. I’m going to see if ear buds will help. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and for designing bags that can be sewn on our domestic machine.
I also had a really hard time with the volume. I had to close my sewing room door and turn everything off and I still had a hard time understanding, esp at the beginning of the video. It was a fantastic video otherwise.... I have been in the fence about trying these but I feel like I'm a bit more equipped to try after whatching this. Thank you ❤️
Struggling to hear even with volume on full thankfully someone mentioned closed captions so I was able to turn them on to follow your instructions. Many thanks 👍🏻
This is outstanding 👏 just excellent. Im not sure if my machine could handle this but if I get a better one I will absolutely try this. Thank you for sharing this.
Great video again - I wanted to use hidden connectors on my Lola but I stupidly prepared the faux leather with foam fused with stabiliser , then watched this video and realised the faux leather needs to be loose to achieve this lovely finish - back to the drawing board for me!!!!
Loved your instructions! I made a sample and found your instructions very easy to follow. Also to reinforce the strength with gluing ribbon - very cleaver. Outcome looked very clean. Thank you!
Very clever I never thought of putting the ribbon I usually put a little strip of canvas but that adds too much bulk I'll be doing the ribbon from now on I love your sweater by the way reminds me of a Kaffe Fassett design
@@BagsbyBagsofStyle Your hubby doesn’t realize how good he has it! If he had to listen to my flat, Midwestern American voice all day, he’d go barking mad. 🤣
I always wondered whether the vinyl would hold the weight on the straps. The ribbon is a clever way to handle that situation. Also like the way you handle the raw edge showing when attaching to the bag. Thank you for sharing.
I wouldn’t trust a strap connector without something to give it strength,,, you are putting the entire weight of the bag snd contents in that connector so I like the ribbon because it adds strength but not bulk,,, I’m not a huge fan of very bulky connectors either lik
I love your videos. You are one of the best instructors on YT for bag making. What wt thread (tex) do you use for your top and bobbin thread. ? Your topstitch is beautiful. I have a TL 2010q too.
I’m using plain old moon threads,, which is almost the same as guttermans all purpose thread,,, when I top stitch I run two threads through my machine,,, I have a video about top stitching in this playlist which shows you in more detail what I mean by that,, I’m sewing on a tl 98p in this video so an older version of your machine
i use a juki tl98p, a 15 year old machine, straight stitch only bit shes a domestic, not industrial. i have never felt the need for an industrial since with the correct needle and the right foot i can de everything i want to on my juki
It can be done but you need to use a facing to create the opening ( so it doesn’t fray) if you check the videos for Classico in my playlists,, it shows how to make the aperture in fabric
sorry but disagree. I watch man sites and have no trouble with them. If you check in your comments you will see that Margaret Mayhew also commented on the low sound. Does not matter to me but if you want to have peiople join and watch your site, you will take this as constructive criticism not complaint. I personally would have enjoyed but without good sound it does not work for me.
Very cool indeed! Thank you Christine 😊
Thank you for sharing this video, I will be making these connectors on my next bag thanks to your clear instructions
Thanks. Truly neater
Very clever. The one thing I've disliked about the hidden connector was the raw edge!!! Now it's not a problem. Thank you.

I LOVE smart people who show us beautiful new techniques!
I love the glimpse of your colorful cardigan!

Not that I’m aware of,,
@@BagsbyBagsofStyle thanks for such a quick response.
@@BagsbyBagsofStyle Volume is a little low. Was able to make it out, though. Thanks for the video. VERY GOOD INSTRUCTIONS.

@@MelissaH05 I agree, the volume is quite low, so I put on the closed captions so I could just read along. GREAT video and technique

Thank you for the great video, I too had a hard time hearing you on my ipad, your voice is very soft.
Thanks for sharing this technique! I appreciate it.
I was looking for a way to improve the connector area. Thank you for these tips!!🙏
You are very welcome
I literally gasped when you flipped up the piece to show the strap ends. What a great idea!
It really works,, and looks so much better than a random edge
Thank you, what a great solution to the raw edge problem. I’m trying this tonight.
Thank you for sharing this, it made the "strip" connector look awesome!!!
Excellent tutorial, thank you.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing this technique! Looks great
You are very welcome
Very nice - I was thinking about how to make that work and you did what I was thinking!! Brilliant. thank you!
This is ingenious! I will be making a bag and wanted to elevate the look of the exterior panels.🤩🤩🤩
Excellent video instructions. Thank you so much for sharing your talents.
WOW!!! what an excellent tip. Makes perfect sense. THANKS for sharing! : )
Thank you so much for this video, your instructions are very clear & I successfully made the connectors for the first time thanks to you!
yay,,,,glad i could help
Wow! What a smart idea! Love love love it. Thank you.
Thanks for posting this video. I have always wondered how this was done.
Thank you so much Christine xx

If you fused the foam, you would not see the strap from the out side, try it on a scrap next time.

It has that look to it,, was a gift from Peru about 25 years ago,,, yaks wool,, smells like a dead sheep when it gets wet lol
Thank you some much!!!!!You are great at teaching.
Thank you, I really love what I do
Thanks so very much for sharing. This is an awesome way to do this.
Thank you for the tutorial! You have such a lovely, calm voice. 😊

Love the video and that faux leather...where did you purchase it from...
I get all of my faux from a friend who is an upholsterer so I have no idea where it’s from originally I’m afraid
Many thanks a helpful video and great idea

Beacon fabritac

@@BagsbyBagsofStyle just checked it out. Thank you! Learning so much from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Loved the process, just can't hear it because it is so low.
Since this is a problem for only a few people I suspect it might be your settings as most can hear it fine x
I find it difficult, too...to hear clearly
If you cut through the foam, you would not see the ends from the outside.
You can’t see them doing it this way
@@BagsbyBagsofStyle you can see the outline of them.
Sorry. I can't hear you either.
im afraid i dont know why...ive had several people check and they can all hear so i suspect ots your settings rather than the video
I couldn't hear you at all.....very low sound. Bummer.
Since this is only happening for some people and not fkr all I suspect it will be your settings rather than the video

I think this may be to do with your settings as nobody else has that problem
