(Spoiler alert)I had the privilege of meeting one of the secret squares. I was thrilled to be able to tell him, personally, that my all-time favourite movie is "Duel." He, actually, hugged me and, remarked, "yep, it was fun, makin' that. That kid, who directed, was pretty good!"(that kid: 22-year-old Steven Spielberg.)I, too, can't get over how clean this 45-year-old program looks!
Got finished watching classic Let,s Make A Deal 1975 with Monty Hall (1921-2017) NOW watching The Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall (1926-2024)1975!!
In general the tic-tac-toe strategy on the show was awful. But considering you forfeited the square if you got the question wrong, that would explain the hesitancy to pick the center first.
CLASSIC CARS THEY GAVE AWAY ON THE ORIGINAL NIGHTTIME SYNDICATED SQUARES WERE THE CHEVROLET VEGA PONTIAC ASTRE DATSUN B210 DATSUN F10 HATCHBACK & FINALLY THE PONTIAC SUNBIRD!!
@@donaldleroy6502Yes!! But that was the 1968 NBC primetime edition of Squares(before I was born-1972)that gave away Pontiac Firebirds for the secret square game & it wasn't even a bonus prize at that time!!
I was 3 years old in 1975 when this aired living in The Twin Cities Mpls St Paul MN for a year since 1974.6 more years to go before moving to Baltimore MD in 1981 at age 9.
Glad Dennis Weaver got every answer right to make the contestants go along. Especially on the question about Hockey, and thank God that Vegas didn't have a NHL team yet
