      EPIC LGBT-Represantation!
The literally most boring Companion the Doctor ever had, even counting pets AND she
was clearly defined as the most slow-in-the-dead of them all. Took longer to figure things out
than all others. Even Donna - Wow!
Oh, and of course let's not forget her Lesbian Water Friendo:
Allmighty for no reason, a walking Plot Hole and just to make it even more embarasing,
her hair colour sometimes changes for no reason.
Wonder what the Daleks think when they hear the laughable idea that there's apparently somewhere Spaceship-Fuel
that makes Humans Allmighty when touching it. Stronger than Daleks - we even literally saw Daleks battle that thing!
Yikes - when bad Writing and mindless writing make a Baby!

Bill deserved more time on the TARDIS. And the 12th Doctor being a mysterious professor at a university deserved more time than a blink of setting up context. I want an entire season of intermittent Professor Doctor Capaldi, and I want an one more season of the Doctor and Bill.
This scene, in a nutshell, is all the potential we could've gotten but didn't.

Just like Amy and Rory being occasional guests on the TARDIS, while the Doctor spending indeterminate amounts of time in between by himself, is the kind of subject material for an entire Doctor's saga, and it's instead relegated to an unsatisfying half of a season.

I really like the way there’s a short focus on Susan’s portrait in this scene. To me it tells us about what Bill and the Doctor’s relationship is and that is something akin to a grandfather/granddaughter, professor/student relationship. Something really sweet and different after all the Doctor’s ‘romantic interest’ companions.

I really love Bill's little monologue on giving chips to her crush because it's so, normal. Like this is the way my coworkers talk, it really makes Bill feel *human* in a way none of Moffat's other companions do (not necessarily a bad thing)

It feels just slightly improvised and aimless, which makes it feel more like someone actually talking, having formed a general concept of what they want to communicate in their head, but not the exact wording and intonation. It feels less like a script in that sense.

This was one of the best relationships I think pretty much any of the New Who Doctors has had with a companion. What a beautiful way to introduce her and have them interact. Also, I really love the idea of the Doctor just being an established professor. It kinda feels like it harkens back to when he was a regular part of UNIT.

I don’t know what it is, but seeing the Doctor do ordinary everyday things, just affects me. Whether that’s seeing him answer the telephone, eat a sandwich, sit on a swing, or as in this case, keeping pictures of his wife and granddaughter on his desk. We all seem to hold The Doctor on this pedestal of “the man who saves the universe”, so seeing him do every day things and having it remind us that he’s just a man doing the best he can, makes me both really happy and really sad. Classic doctor was usually fun, but New Who Doctor always has a very bitter, sweet tinge. When you think about it, older people always do. They’ve just seen and lost so much. That’s what I love about Doctor Who. The man may be an alien, but he really embodies the human experience in so many underappreciated ways.
