Petra was the first Christian hard rock band I discovered in 1983. It was my favorite. Then one day someone handed me SAINT’s first album. I became a Saint fan! Still love a Petra’s jams. They were pioneers on the Christian rock front.
Ryan! Good to hear from you my friend, not familiar with that album the first 3 last one I owned was Elephant Riders, hit me with a song, tag me so I will see your comments and we will check it out!
Long time Petra fan Shane! "Not Of This World" is my most favorite album from them. Must have been 14 when I got the cassette, and I played it over and over again! I've tried to get you to do a first listen for Veni Domine "Wisdom Calls" and not a peep! Have you heard Barren Cross "Stage Of Intensity" or "Two Thousand Years" WOW! Amazing!
Chaotic Resemblance, bands name, Virtual Reality(name of the song) is something I think you would enjoy. Jekyll and Hyde one of my favorite Petra songs. Thanks for sharing
I like that you are giving Petra an ear. The greatest rock band. Greg X Voltz was their fist lead singer. Then John Schlitt who you have been reviewing. This year 2024 they are doing a 50 year anniversary tour. John is now 72 and still rocking for the Lord along with Bob Hartman who founded the group and wrote like 99% of their songs. Go Petra!!!!
Thanks for the video! If you like the 80’s and 90’s AOR awesomeness of bands like Petra and Idle Cure, try checking out Whiteheart as well. You’ll probably quite enjoy a few of their songs like “Powerhouse”, “Invitation”, “His Heart Was Always In It” or “Inside”. Highly recommended!
Long time Petra fan. I liked this album, but the first song is their only hard rock song of the album, the rest is pop or contemporary. Their earlier work, from "Back to the Street", "This Means War" is more hard rock style.
This is the kind of song you listen to while drinking a whisky at the bar Lol. Hey Shane, I recommend you check the new single Rainbow of Shadows released by Lethal Accords 🤘.

One of their best cds
The whole album is this good.
Peter Furler of the Newsboys produced this album and played drums on it.
As much as I love John Schlitt, you should check out some of their older stuff with their original singer. Greg X Volz is who I grew up listening to.
Especially’Never Say Die’ album. Maybe ‘Angel of Light’ tune.
Check out their song "Judas Kiss" from the album More Power to Ya
i love Petra, been a fan for years! check out the song Destiny.

Definitely my favorite Petra song. The only thing it lacks is a guitar solo, but that was "of the time".
As promised, thank you!!! My fave Petra tune is debatably their heaviest
Bob Hartman commented so many times that it was hard to make soccer moms happy with his music.
Check out Heart if a hero from No Doubt albim
also speaking of Dove awards. They preformed "Beyond Belief" at the Dove awards live and made that song so much better.
their album Petra Praise was redone by them which is the Petra En Alabanza, same album just one in english and one in spanish.
