Looks clean and professional to me and looks like factory made. 👍🏻
Good save
One thing I like about your videos is your sense of humor. LOL. Just a stupid thought of painting the bumper black truck bed liner to protect it. Yes, commenting as I was watching and it looks AWESOME and it does look better in red.
What's up Uncle Dougle deanie in the garage. That winch bumper is ingenious. You should patent that and make $$$$$. Then you could buy a newer pos Jeep.
The day you discover changing caps is fun... welcome to Graffiti 😎
This was a great how to video. It’s giving me ideas for my WJ. Thanks for sharing how you did it.
I absolutely love this! Killer work bud 💪💪
You must be reading my mind. That is exactly the set up I'd like on the front of mine. You did a great job
Looks clean and stock.
Nice job. Happy Motoring.
YEAH BRO, sexy weld! I was as quite nervous when I cut my wjs cross member, put in hidden winch from HK. Winch and rocker rails =GAME CHANGER
HK does AMAZIN work. I would have liked to purchase and install their winch hitch, but that doesnt make for good content for the channel. haha.
Looks pretty awesome from where I'm sitting!
This gives me ideas now for when I get my custom front bumper and winch for the ZJ. Thank you good sir!
I just bought a ZRX 5000 for my Samurai, some where saying it is too small but if it can work for your heavier Jeep it should be great on my light Sami!
Just found a warn winch in grandpas garage and came here. Soon to be wrenchin and winchin
Nice install. Very neat and budget friendly. Looks great. The only Jeep I have ever owned was a 2000 WJ bought new in Oct 99. Served me well hauling daughter back and forth to college among the normal daily and other chores. Had the QuadraDrive. Great in snow. From a styling/design perspective, it has stood the test of time IMHO. WD40 is also good for removing Sharpie marks.
Looks nice, I made my winch mount to the receiver. That way I can move it from the front or back of my jeep, with the option to chain it around a tree if needed. Or I can put it on anything with a 2" hitch. Keeps it portable and out of the weather
I have always wanted to try that! I bet it is dead useful having a rear mountable winch
Awesome install and fabrication (what fuck ups?)!
I just assembled my winch bumper from EAG. I hate the plastic bumpers on WJs, so I went that way. Gonna replace the rear, too.
I gotta learn to weld! Love watchin' ya work!
Thank you! Good luck with your new bumper! I am a big fan of those!
Uncle Jerry’s fab shop open for business. Our motto is “if it’s good enough for government work it’s good enough for us.” Lol
Nicely done!
People are weird nowadays.... why? cuz yall should have at least 150k followers etc.. best personalities n organic on web today real dealz
Not T-Bad Douglas..👌..Sad to see the Romex go....😂😂👍👍
Looks great! Good job
Was shaking my head as you were marking the hitch height. Lol. Nicely done otherwise.
Love the Hoodie! 🤘🇺🇸
That came out freakin awesome! Also might we be getting a video on that jet ski?
As a owner of the zxr 9000 had it since it came out it's beat up but still works great I use it for the hondas that go out when thiers a foot of snow
Love it bro!!!
I really like this! I kind of want to build something like this on my daily a 07 Honda Oddesey van. Or my winter beater a 2000 Silverado.
Nice job. Looks great!
Can you do a video on types of welders budget wise that work for dweebos in da garage ? :)
2004 WJ Special Edition with the 4.7 V8 checking in. 146k miles
Thanks
When it comes to welding the bigger the blob the better the job when it comes to rope, if you can't tie knots tie lots. Nice job. She looks factry.
Was that original or hot off the top of ya noggin..." Enough jaw work, time for some paw work " ? 🤣👌👍
Please for goodness sake keep you hand out of that cable. Carbs are hard to to rebuild missing fingers. I’m stoked to see the Romex gone. Wife was cracking up when I I was telling you NO when you measured your cut out wrong. Then the “did you see that “”popped up. I love when mess-ups work out so perfect. You did zip tie your fire starter solenoid down at least? Great vid the end product looks great! I dig the bolt to a screw trick. I hope I remember it. Send us to school and do the inside winch control again please.
Haha.. Yea bud, I am not trying to lose any fingers in a winch. Good call!
Maybe if you pick up one of the old fold down license plate holders that covered the gas cap on the older cars, you could mount it upside down on the front to give you an access flap kinda thing. For me the only thing is I'm not a fan of chrome so the fairlead roller would bug me. It looks good though. Couple times I said, "You need lightning scissors" while you were cutting stuff up.
Wow.. that is a solid idea! Thanks!
Well would you look at that! Job well done sir.... But C'Mon Man it don't matter what your welds look like that's why we have grinders
Grinder and paint makes me the welder i aint!
Okay when did we add a Durango to the channel ? The winch is pretty cool setup for government work I must say 😂
We sold the wife's Jeep Compass and upgraded to the 'Rango. We LOVE it. I might do a vid on it at some point. Sadly it is just the 3.6L
@@DEInTheGarage hey I heard good things about the 3.6 in Wranglers so maybe it will hold up .
Looks good man. 👍
Did you see, jeep is keeping the Cherokee name plate. Lol.
Great job
Well done good sir. 👌
The bolt marking 8.8 means class 8.8. the "class" system is for metric where "grades" are for standard bolts. Class 8.8 is roughly equivalent in strength to a grade 5
Love it
That came out really nice Doug but do you have to take the license plate off to get to the hook ? Also I noticed you were welding without the nozzle on , was that on purpose ? Also was wondering if you weld with 115v or 220v ? Until next time take care and be safe .
You could flip that piece you cut out of the bumper and box it in
I think his hidden hook solution was pretty spot on!
My only question is did you leave enough room for the hitch insert retaining pin? You may need to trim the bottom of that angle iron. It looks sharp and may be my next project.
nice job.
Hey man, what kind of welder is that? i need to pick up my FIRST welder but not really sure what to get. I'm up to 2 WJ's and each could use some minor welding like rockers, etc. Some people told me MIG but I'm totally oblivious to it all lol
looks grrreat!
Only 5000 lbs ehhhhhh. How's that werkin out for your stove pipe? Smoke ciggrits
If given a choice, would you buy a jeep gladiator rubicon or a Grand Cherokee trackhawk?
Jeep is offering the Wrangler with the 6.4L Hemi! 0-60 in 4.8 sec.
thats dope...
Custom !
Winch Size: I'm trying to minimize size of my winch for my Renegade. You chose 5000 lb for a larger, heavier car. Also, must be permanent magnet. From what I see, minimum is 9500 winch for small to mid-size car. Please explain.
I like it very nice ok if I copy it👌👌
I see you read my mind in post editing at 4:15, lol
Yep!
Did you catch it before you cut it? I wondered why you took the depth mark from the top of the bench and not resting the angle on the tube. Nothing a little welding can't fix! Nope, you didn't catch it!
She's factree
Sure is!
I can honestly say I am sad to see the house wire leave the Jeep
the mistake was the angle iron wasn't on top of the hitch when you marked it.
Yep!.. Amateur hour!
6 hours posted and only 129 likes come on people!
😂 should have marked that angle iron while it was sitting on top not when it's sitting on the ground
I caught that as well
While you were making the mistake I was going no no no! Don't worry there are many of us who have done much worse. Measure twice cut once.
My thought was he had enough material to remake it anyway, LOL!
Too bad you couldn't get the front license plate spring loaded mounted so everything hides behind it. Would be damn near invisible.
Should have left the romex, and just tell people you have a plug-in hybrid WJ LOL.
I thought it was for a block heater.
Measure once and cut twice..... amateur hour ! The story of my life ha ha
Hi
Haha. 5k winch on a rig that weighs probably 5k. Good luck
marked it too deep .not a scrap mistake but.
FAP...........Ha ha ha ha
Full metal bumper!!!!!
This was kind of a dry run for doing that on Willy.
@@DEInTheGarage very excited
Should get a plasma cutter
