- In this video I will show you how to make your own DIY pod light mounting bracket for under $10.00 and less than an hour of time. The vehicle in this video is a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Limited, but this process will work for virtually any Jeep or Truck. This application is perfect for snow plows, work trucks, and off-road 4x4 vehicles looking to add some LED ditch lights for extra illumination.

Good tip on the farm and implement paint. I repainted the bed of my Gator with that stuff almost 2 years ago and it's held up very well.
Super sweet ditch light brackets.
I have a 1995 four door XJ sport
Will this work the same and clear the windshield!
Great job brother!
The XJ uses a slightly different hoot hinge. That said I believe it SHOULD be doable still.
MONEY well almost! I've been there brother. Great video. Thx.
Today is January 17th 2022 today I bought a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee for $1,700 with a blown motor this Jeep is clean inside and out the only problem is a rip in the driver's seat I'm looking for a 47 motor so I will look around u pull in other boneyards for the motor and I will install it my first ship ever I watched every one of your videos and you guys are awesome just letting you know
First class and inexpensive👌
The simplest solution is often the best in my experience
@@DEInTheGarage hi any thoughts on a Wk fitted with hemi engine?? Thanks
@@davidduffy4924 I am a big fan of the HEMI in the WK. Some have cam issues, so it is worth it to give the motor a serious once over before buying
@@DEInTheGarage ok thanks not many Hemi powered in Scotland thanks
Ok I give, you’ve earned this sub. Discovered you because I just got an 04 Chevy avalanche z71 and saw your videos on the DOA one you had. (Mines rusted but not as bad) great content, learning quite a bit.
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the content
Great video! I learned a lot from this. Im planning to make some Ditch lights brackets for my wife’s Mazda CX-5
This it a great idea! I think I'm going to have to make a set of these for my winter beater truck! And the farm and implement paint is the best stuff ever! I used it for my Ariens snowblower I used Kabota paint and it was a super close match!!
Heck yea bud. that stuff is snowblower and snow plow approved
Slow down brotha, you make good content. Breathe. Good stuff, I did something similar on my 92 bronco.
Fantastic video and was just looking up stuff for the wj and you popped up great idea brother appreciate the content
Great work ! 👍🏽
I had an 02 Liberty and I just drilled through the hood, used a ton of silicone, and they worked great. I got a writing harness on Amazon for only like $9 that has a relay and fuse, I'd link it but youtube doesn't allow that in the comments section.
I did that on my lifted WJ!.. no regrets!
Not tea bag, brotha.
Actually, I love this. Sooo gonna do me a pair.
Nice fab job Douglas.👍👍More time to drink silly sodas or White claws (Doug).😂😂😂
yea buddy!
Appreciate the WJ videos, learning a lot!
Looks better than the pillar mount for the wj for my opinion, and much better than those stupid magnets T.S. is selling,,
I agree! It is a clean look in my most humble if not bias opinion
It’s playing on my iPhone, no issues.
That there is what we call a good damn idea and if I ever decide to put a plow on the front of my dually I will definitely use that design but where I live there isn't much call for snow plows on the front of our vehicles out here in the communist republic of California every once in awhile we'll get some snow but it's nothing like what you guys get
Minty, I'ma try this on my bumper. I gotta 94 accord I'm trynna put 6inch kc's on.
Great job brudda! Throw in some jimmyjams next time to help ya focus 🤣
that is what was missing!
Is it possible for you to do a sitdown in the jeep and explain the new platform, (nothing negative from me, I'm working on that) I just don't seem to understand corporate language and the way they see it..?
Can you elaborate? Feel free to email me so we can talk about this idea some more dandeoffroad@gmail.com
Brilliant vid. Just sayin. I do have a question. On those light... I saw the pigtail coming off the light. Do they also come with the wires to go to the battery?
Very good video, great content! Thank you. 👍
If i ever buy a farm truck, this idea is going on it and taking that to the bank to learn more metal working than welding
Cool nice job
Awesome job and THE BEARS
Hmm I'd like to use both hood bolts as a longer pair so I can mount my KC Daylighters on my 99 WJ
I could see that working a treat!
@@DEInTheGarage Bought another WJ for the wife... Her rig is completely stock as for mine I am currently sitting on 33's.
Still working on the custom set of those hood KC lights for the ditches will send you a pic on facebook so you can see them.
Love it! Does that farm and implement paint work well at covering up rust and keeping it at bay? After removing the loose stuff first of course. Also where did you run the wiring for these lights?
I would use a rust reformer as a primer in the case, but yet. it is decent. I would not use it on rot though as it is certain to trap moisture
"Right Myrraaaaa."
Mkay I see what you did daare. We go get sum Chitty chicken n Chitty beef later? Lol
Just dont knock down my chitty wall!
I want to start off by saying I love you and dan h content.
Because of you guys I bought a wj .
It a 2001 4.0 159000 miles.
The oil pressure gadge drops to zero went it gets some heat in the motor.
I replaced the oil sending unit with a oem Mopar one but did not fix the problem.
Do you have any suggestions?
Oh and how do I buy some of your merch?
Hmm.. Well if possible find someone with a mechanical oil pressure gauge to ensure it isn't actually losing oil pressure at operating temperature (thought you would know it from the noise it would be making). We sell merch on etsy. There is a link the description of every video. Cheers bud!
They kill me with bracket prices! Wanted to mount my shovel on my cargo rack ('04 WJ). Cheapes I found were like $111. For my $15 shovel. Fuck to the NO. Twelve bucks of hardware and some spray paint. Done. Slap the name JEEP on any advert, and people are throwin' money.
For real! I say take some time - maybe grab a beer - and go stare at the jeep and what you want to mount. I bet within a few sips you will have an idea how to make it yourself
where in NJ are you, mounted my light but its hitting my wiper so i need to redo the bracket i bought and make something like yours., im in Deptford.
Please show the wiring connection some time. Thanks for some Monday evening entertainment.
When i do the review vid for the lights i will. stay tuned.
Hey man, you ever end up putting rotella t5 10w30 in your 4.0 as notice the noises quiet up?
Oh yea.. I have a few videos on it if you are interested..

Hey I had i question. It has nothing to do with the video but I couldn’t think of a way to reach out to you. I’m about to buy a Wrangler TJ 99 and I noticed it has these air bags for adjusting to height inside the suspension spring. I’ve seen your videos on how lifts on Jeep’s can become a big problem so I wanted to ask if you think it’ll have an effect on the other parts of the wrangler. It’s my first Jeep so I don’t really know completely how they work. Thank you
Air bags shouldnt provide enough lift to cause issues with parts wearing out, but might effect ride quality. You should be fine. Good luck!
You said no special tools.. I have no Vice but I do have a welder so I guess I can cut and weld?
Yea, that would work I think. Definitely more work that way.
Can you move them forward if you want to
By playing around with the bends you could put the anywhere you want as long as the hood still opens
@@DEInTheGarage thanks
Good old fashioned Ingenuity. I love watching fabricators ply their trade. Also, don't worry about getting tongue tied, you're brain's working faster than your mouth can get the words out. It's a sign of intelligence.
now that is something I do not get called too often! Thanks bud
Lmao @ silly soda😂😂
That’s better
Got a WJ problem I wish you could figure out
I mean why don't you post it in the comments then and see if someone replies?
@@Renigade16 cause someone would just say spend money have it looked at at a garage. If I had money it wouldn't be a problem I geuss. It's electrical. I'm not meaning to be a smart Alek. I'm just saying but I parked it for good today anyway. I run out of gas and out of cash
but what's it doing
@@ciphergalm1174 no power to the windows mirror or locks on the passenger side. Only has power to the driver mirror and driver side windows and driver door lock
@@357bullfrog9 easy thats probably the wires that run into the door check the harness
You need a jibber jabber therapist! 😂
