Nice!... I made my light bar mounts out of a barn door hinge lol... they are mounted on my car that’s in my profile picture Edit: I bought the hinge for under $10
If you want to mock them up with something more rigid that will retain it's shape, just use some thinner sheet metal, or thicker aluminum foil. You may want to add packing tape so it doesn't rip easily.
What about windnoise and glare I have tried several different light bars with different brackets and the wind noise is crazy.i wound up buying the magnetic brackets and moving the light bar back a little.. no noise and absolutely no glare.. just what I had to do on my 2010 Tahoe and 2003 suburban
So I searched on line exact same bar but I the holders as I call them they have to be mounted in on the roof seen many videos hanging right above the roof but yea can I get in trouble with installing them on the roof?
Vibration cracked mine and I didn't know and light fell and cracked windshield one day when I stopped at red light and I used 3/16" steel so the bolts will hold but metal not so much
I did exactly the same thing on my ford custom. But once going over 60mph, the cooling fins on the led bar start resonating with the wind and you get this fucking loud whine noise >.< Had to take it off, it was just unbearable
Ive read that you can put some rubber tubing or weather seal on the fins and it should help with the whistling that you're talking about. I havent tried myself yet since i dont have a roof mounted bar but it maybe worth the shot
Well done. Easy and straight forward as I thought it would be. Just wanted to see if it had been done. Thanks for the reassurance

Cool thanks for the comment Mr Mercury.
hey, got a 40 inch light bar that Im throwing on my ranger and can't seem to find any mounts, how did you do yours?
If you want to mock them up with something more rigid that will retain it's shape, just use some thinner sheet metal, or thicker aluminum foil. You may want to add packing tape so it doesn't rip easily.
Thanks for the idea Ben.
good job man. i just made a set also for a 50" bar on my current project stormtrooper. i should have a video up in a day or two
For sure on the video thanks for watching.
i made pretty strong brackets, exporting the video as we speak, it should be live in an hour or two.
I'd buy some
Thanks for the comment.
Ive been looking for these because i want my led bar in front of the windshield not the roof top
Fun build you can do it thanks for the comment.
W dad
Thanks for watching.
Do you get glare on the windshield mounted there from the lightbar?
Good ????? I will have to ask my son that one for you thanks Rob.
I bought some brackets for like $14 through amazon and bent them to fit my truck
Thanks for the comment.
What length light bar and straight or curved?
What about windnoise and glare I have tried several different light bars with different brackets and the wind noise is crazy.i wound up buying the magnetic brackets and moving the light bar back a little.. no noise and absolutely no glare.. just what I had to do on my 2010 Tahoe and 2003 suburban
Thanks for sharing Ben.
Thanks sir👍🏼
Great Design! But the light bar is a bit too much on the windshield. Is possible to use the same technic to install further back?
It’s supposed to be flush with the top of the truck
Nice video. After 4 years how are the screws to the cab holding up?
Not sure he sold the truck
Where did you get that metal though?
after driving did you find you needed gussets in the bends?
So I searched on line exact same bar but I the holders as I call them they have to be mounted in on the roof seen many videos hanging right above the roof but yea can I get in trouble with installing them on the roof?
Rodolfo Mendez i would worry about leaks on the roof from screws
Was the originall thickness good enough??
Nice video can you please tell me how bright the light is and what make is it I'm thinking about putting some lights on my truck
What kind of light bar is that
Sorry it took so long YITAMOTOR 52 inches Curved Led Light Baramzn.to/2putSvd
What’s your measurements of your brackets I have similar truck I like the location on your mounts
can u make a set for me for my 78 stepside? I'd much rather pay you guys.
Sorry, thanks for watching.
Vibration cracked mine and I didn't know and light fell and cracked windshield one day when I stopped at red light and I used 3/16" steel so the bolts will hold but metal not so much
3/16 cracked from vibrations? Yea ok.
yeah, Easy to make, aslong as you gotta sheet metal bender :/
There are ways to do it without a brake. Your imagination is the limit🤘
That hardware will more than hold. Many of the bracket kits use pop rivets to hold
Thanks Chris.
Oh yeah. Your mods on the runaway has been a huge contributing factor to my decision to go with that brand. Thanks for what you do!
Kevin these brackets are between $16,00 to $25,00 bucks a set on ebay!
good to know thanks Alonzo
@@Robinson-Homestead nice job on the bracket's!
I use pop rivets
That will work to thanks.

Angle of the light and they make rubber pieces that snap into the find so they wont vibrate but i have only had the humming noise when doing 80+mph
