    7 mil LMAO . if I'm not mistaken 7 mil on an XJ holds the Tail light bulb harness to the lense, and the fender flares to the frame! Damn Jeep's. LOL I love the Fab work great job.. you made the right call removing all the slats.. it would have looked "hacked" leaving it on in pieces. Now Its nice and clean and it shows your craftmanship! Great work guys...
    PS... POR 15!!!

    I bought the Warn one, I would have been days trying to cut and drill that metal. Nice to see what's involved.

      Was I correct that the warn one uses the same holes I did? I could only find a picture of it online..

      not at all. I'd like to see it. My goal is to use this hitch to eventually create an in-bumper winch plate for this Jeep.

    The screws that hold my avalanche bumper on use a 7 mm socket as well

    • @DEInTheGarage
      @DEInTheGarage  5 лет назад +2

      Interesting... perhaps 7mm exists strictly to affix grills to Trucks and SUVs..

    I used a 7mm socket on my 98 chevy c-1500. The headlight assembly bolt. Really long one like 8 inches long. Hey D&E? my 04 WJ has a different front bumper. It hangs lower and has the circle aux lights for that year only. Will it be a different installation for front hitch?? I need to use your plow to smooth out my large stacks of cash! Awesome video. Thanks!

  • @outdoorsmansgarage
    @outdoorsmansgarage 5 лет назад +1

    That hitch turned out great man in my personal opinion you shouldn't have painted the hitch because it doesn't match the rest of the plow now you're going to have to paint the plow

    • @DEInTheGarage
      @DEInTheGarage  5 лет назад

      Yea, that is a fair point. I always say I am going to paint the plow when it warms up, but then it warms up and I don't want to be messing around with a snow plow.... maybe this summer

    • @robtheroadie2240
      @robtheroadie2240 5 лет назад

      If you paint it again, try the same color as the jeep bumper!... super clean!

  • @HealthSupercharger
    @HealthSupercharger Год назад

    It would be better if you used 4 bolts on each side to fasten the hitch to the frame. Also it would be better if you drilled a pass thru for the 2x2 tube so it would go thru the angle iron and weld it on both sides. Welding on one side is not that strong for durability.

      So far, so good. Did a ton of plowing with it last winter. The key to plowing with a unibody Jeep is to be aware that you arent in a pickup. Take it a little easy and down over do it and you should be fine
