7 mil LMAO . if I'm not mistaken 7 mil on an XJ holds the Tail light bulb harness to the lense, and the fender flares to the frame! Damn Jeep's. LOL I love the Fab work great job.. you made the right call removing all the slats.. it would have looked "hacked" leaving it on in pieces. Now Its nice and clean and it shows your craftmanship! Great work guys... PS... POR 15!!!
I need to show you guys pics of where I put my winch connector. I mounted it to the center console right behind my cup holders and reinforced it with a small piece of metal.
I used a 7mm socket on my 98 chevy c-1500. The headlight assembly bolt. Really long one like 8 inches long. Hey D&E? my 04 WJ has a different front bumper. It hangs lower and has the circle aux lights for that year only. Will it be a different installation for front hitch?? I need to use your plow to smooth out my large stacks of cash! Awesome video. Thanks!
Man thats a lot of work. How was getting those bolts on the bracket? When i put my arb bumper on i had a hell of a time getti g the rear bolts in. Ended up having my little sister putting it in since her arm fit right in there hah i could barely get my hand in. Hey btw i just put up a video of my wj build and progession check it out and lmk what ya think!
The lord blessed me with small hands. I went to school to be a diesel tech and everyone gave me shit for being so short, but when the wrench fell between the engine and trans on giant Cat, who do you think they called??.. I will chek it out for you!
Do you mean visually or physically? Physically it isnt any further out than the bumper, but yes it is noticeable. Also highly functional for what I need that Jeep to do
That hitch turned out great man in my personal opinion you shouldn't have painted the hitch because it doesn't match the rest of the plow now you're going to have to paint the plow
Yea, that is a fair point. I always say I am going to paint the plow when it warms up, but then it warms up and I don't want to be messing around with a snow plow.... maybe this summer
It would be better if you used 4 bolts on each side to fasten the hitch to the frame. Also it would be better if you drilled a pass thru for the 2x2 tube so it would go thru the angle iron and weld it on both sides. Welding on one side is not that strong for durability.
So far, so good. Did a ton of plowing with it last winter. The key to plowing with a unibody Jeep is to be aware that you arent in a pickup. Take it a little easy and down over do it and you should be fine

Thanks buddy! I think POR 15 is a good idea to keep this thing looking nice
I bought the Warn one, I would have been days trying to cut and drill that metal. Nice to see what's involved.
Was I correct that the warn one uses the same holes I did? I could only find a picture of it online..
@@DEInTheGarage From what I recall you nailed it. I still have the receiver, waiting for another WJ to stick it on!
@@willohwhite2372 if you buy chance still have it I’ll take it off your hands

In no way was that a jab at your choice. You guys put out excellent content!
not at all. I'd like to see it. My goal is to use this hitch to eventually create an in-bumper winch plate for this Jeep.
Please do ben! IF I get a wj i want my winch to be where yours is!!
The screws that hold my avalanche bumper on use a 7 mm socket as well
Interesting... perhaps 7mm exists strictly to affix grills to Trucks and SUVs..
You guys have great USEFUL content. Keep up the good work. Your channel reminds me of Bleepinjeep before they got too big.
That is truly a compliment! Thanks you! We were inspired to start this channel partly by the work Matt used to do
That's a lot of fab work guys...
All in good fun..
"Going to take this 2-inch beast right here..." Yeah, that's what I tell my wife.
That is a damn good one! haha
Good call on removing the entire chunk of plastic. Looks very close to factory install!
Thanks!
@@DEInTheGarage good job i try on my grand cherokee wj for this winter

Ya....I've noticed the 7 mil bolts on my 01. Annoying. I agree
"It's nice and tight in there and I'm happy with it"...I like it nice and tight too.
I mean.. who wouldnt?! haha
Heck yea! Very clean set up!! Nice job!
2" front receiver! I've seen those at the club!

I used a freaking 8mm socket on our truck at work, it was the smallest one i have.
HAHA... Thankfully they arent torqued down much
very true, surprised that it was rusted meaning it sat for bout 10 years in iowa lol
Wow really great video thank you
LMAO "HO DEE PO"!!! 'Bout fell outta' my chair!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Mannnnn, its sticks out like a third ball on a greyhound!!!!!

If you paint it again, try the same color as the jeep bumper!... super clean!

"Drilled holes in..." yeah..me too.
How much to have one made for mine

Let me know if the frame bends. Im gonna be doing this. Winter time is coming fuuuuuck lol

Tell me about it !
"Mine's not doing what your's is doing...going all the way up..." sounds like "E" might need the little blue pill.
You don't want it to fit loose EVER!
Legit👍😎
"Every bit of this thing was touch somewhere..." Sound like a crime was committed.
Are you willing to share your dimensions lol
Nice jizz welds, don't trust your life to that thing....
