Anyone else see a playback or major edit issue around halfway through?
Spiral Design Works Yup! Right at 10:42
@@iJason111 weird I am not seeing a problem on my end when I play it.
That orange looks badass with all the rest of your orange accents
I was really going out on a limb for me with these colors. I am usually a black red silver guy. But I am glad I went out of my color comfort zone a bit.
Really enjoy your videos. I just got a 2002 WJ. I have been driving an XJ, but just gave it to my son for his first car.
Thank you so much for watching. Don't forget to subscribe and hit that notification bell to be the first to see any new videos.
thats one bad ass looking jeep grand cherokee wj. your work is always the best.
Thank you so much for the compliment and for watching.
The Cherokee jeep should have built awesome
Great video. My experience is that you will want an air gap around the solenoids, with this set up all the plastic stuff ( battery) get soft if you really work the winch. That’s a nice battery hate to see it go bad. Keep up the great work.
yeah I could see that. pulling some serious amps at load.
Looks awesome!!
Thanks!
they have some nice connectors on amazon that have solder in them that you heat up and they solder and seal at the same time so no crimp connectors are needed
I am not a fan of those except for emergency trail use. I worry about heat from an overloaded circuit resoldering the material causing a failure of the joint.
@@SpiralDesignWorks Yup. I have tried them, and the solder is very weak. I used some, bent it a few times and it cracked right apart way too easily. They were cheapo amazon ones, but I don't expect the more expensive ones to be any better. The solder is just not robust due to its low melting temp. I use regular leaded solder, and cheapo amazon marine heatshrink over that, and have had great times with that. Very robust, and perfect connection.
Love the Jeep.
Thank you.
Life goals, 😆

cool project!!!
Thank you. We have been enjoying the build and exploring and camping with it for sure.
Did you make up technical drawings we can buy cause id buy some
I was yelling at the computer screen ,"hook up the ground" but it was not helping. Looks good.
Order of operation is pretty important. Thanks for watching. We are always learning.
Why did you elect to go with the optima red top vs the yellow?
my original plan was to run a yellow top as an acc. battery on the DS at some point. but it has not happened yet. They are a good idea for both starting and items like winches, air compressors etc.
How did you paint those letters the Grand Cherokee , mines are starting to fade...
We made them with acrylic and vinyl on our laser machine. Thanks for watching.
Can’t see anything after where you show where you are mounting the plug for the remote. Only way to get past it to restart and fast forward beyond the bad part.
Super weird. Must be a youtube glitch because plays fine on my creator studio.
Spiral Design Works right before it hangs up it starts it pixelate and then stops.
Yep. Video stops playing half way through.
Hopefully that bug is fixed
whats the overall height of the winch without the control box? I'm looking for something to fit inside a bumper I'm making for my XJ
where can i find that grille? i want one so bad but i don’t know what to search up or where to find one, i’ve only seen chrome ones???
This is a stock limited grill that had the chrome surrounds in each hole. I just painted it to match.
Hey James... I got a two inch lift kit, do I have to change the front or rear stabilizers? and if I do which size do I need? I also have a keep grand Cherokee. Btw I love the work you did for your Jeep.
To get allow the use of the increased wheel travel a longer springs or spacers will allow you will want to upgrade the shocks to also have more travel. Your dealer or parts supplier should be able to hook you up with the proper stroke shocks.
Another great video, thanks! At min 10:14, you call that wire slave 'this stuff'. Any chance you have a link to that or can share more info (diameter, material etc.) so I can google it better, please?
Thanks!
Woven Mesh Split Sleeve wire loom, I prefer this way more than the cheap looking plastic crap. amzn.to/2ukPVq5
@@SpiralDesignWorks Awesome, thanks! Yeah looks much cleaner that way so I want to make sure I install it also that way when I am installing my new bumper and winch. Sorry, I broke down and got the TF DIY bumper as you didn't have one in stock for months now...
is that front bumper your design or available to buy?
Yes version 2.0 will be available soon on my site www.echelondesignworks.com also featured on episode 30 of the WJ build
Is this front bumper available now?I would love to buy 1 and what would it cost ? Regardless I want 1 for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4×4 4 inch lift, 33 inch ×12.5 R17 rims.
I've looked a bit at comments and haven't seen it...I'm curious what tire size and if you have spacers or not with those wheel?
35 x 12.5 BFG tires. Stock wrangler wheels, 1 inch spacers. Could have done 1.5 and saved me the trouble of having to cut down the studs. But I wanted to be sure to use all of the compression of the suspension and have the tires fit up into the wheel wells.
@@SpiralDesignWorks nice! I appreciate your content! Great job!
The video is messing up half way through. Around the time of the remote install.
I don't see it on this end. Is it your connection?
Spiral Design Works watched another video after having problems with this one and it played through without issue. I’ll try this one again in a few minutes and see what happens and let you know.
Spiral Design Works it played through this (4th) time. Not sure why, but it was stopping around the 10:37 ish area. Kinda hard to pin down the exact time because it was saying “something went wrong” and zeroed the time tracking bar at the bottom of my screen. It seems the problem has fixed it’s self. Still not sure which end the problem was on, but it was a first for me.
Spiral Design Works nice install by the way! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@geostanley409 Thanks, now time to get it stuck and see how it works.
Too many commercials
