  • After being caught out in a deep mudhole, I needed to install a good winch on the Jeep to get me out of trouble in the remote Aussie bush. After looking at a few other videos on RUclips, I decided on the “hidden” mounting, which essentially hides most of the winch behind the normal bumper. There’s quite a bit of room in the WJ grand Cherokee. I was adapting different pieces as I went, so somewhat of a custom job.
I also took the opportunity to paint the nudge bar black, trim the bumper under the driving lights, and update the grill with a mesh insert. I hope you like it.
    Thank you for watching.

Well done mate, braver man than me for even taking it on. There is a video on youtube somewhere where a bloke used his tow bar mount and also fitted a similar attachment to the front chassis of his 90 series Prado that enabled him to move his winch from the front to the back, it was pretty ingenious I thought. One winch (removable) and two choices of retrieval. Great video again champion.

Hi Totoro, thanks for watching. It is just a basic generic winch plate off eBay - like this; www.ebay.com.au/itm/271680655030

No the plates that are red were an existing part of the mount for the nudge bar that I cleaned up, sorry. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Everytime you say the word "bolt" it sounds like you're saying butt ....so everytime you say "bolt hole", it sounds like you're saying butthole! lol
