    Right on. What I found on my '09 is that the little black box that you showed on the passenger fender is actually a grounding connection for about 4 or 5 circuits. My constant problems with that resistor and harness burning up went away when I cut off the wires and put separate loop wire ends on each wire and then bolted them to the same spot on the fender. If you can split that little box apart and you can see why it would fail.

    The best and cheapest (almost free) way of fixing that is to get rid of the socket and solder the wires straight to the terminals on the resistor. Most likely the resistor is still good. Thats what I did and I haven’t had anymore problems.

    I have all of those issues with my 2007 chevy Colorado as well. I replaced the lower resister and it worked solid for a week and then went out again. I am also having a problem with it overheating in idle. I replace the fan clutch, water pump, coolant sensor and cleaned out the throttle body myself. I still having a problem though in overheating in idol. I can't find a related issue online though. I replace all of the relays and fuses as well. I also cleaned the ground by the mass airflow area you were talking about, but I didn't do the other side and I will check where fuse box is. I will see if that helps any.

    My 2006 only has 85k miles on it, as and I've had nothing but trouble. I had to replace the Throttle Body at 35k miles, new water pump at 58k. The blower fan only worked on #4 and I replaced the wiring harness for that. Now I just replaced the Cam position actuator because it would not idle.

      Chase sorry to not see your post (1 year later). If you haven't got it solved by now. I would check the blinker connectors and they can unplug from the harness and check them for continuity. I had mine go bad and had to replace them as i was having a similar issue. Also those Grounding blocks can be a pain in the butt as well causing all kinds of issues. Also even though it may sound silly. Check to make sure your bulbs work and are not blown

      I have the same exact problem on my 2005 Canyon, my fan stopped working , only 1 and 4 on the settings would work, well I fixed that and then one day all the blinkers and hazards stopped working. It’s definitely not the bulbs, it’s certainly an electronic issue because I’ve seen atleast ten guys mention this online, I’m going to the junkyard today to pick some parts up but I’m not even sure what to replace yet? Any ideas sir? Thank you for your time and video.

      If you suffer from multiple electrical issues. More than likely a great deal.of them are due to those two grounding blocks on the fenders. I know of a few guys that own these trucks that bought aftermarket terminal blocks and put ring terminals on all of the wires going to these blocks to fix their issues. It really is a crappy design IMO

    the 3057 and 3157 are the same plug in bulb with 4 little wire prongs however they are staggered if you noticed so they will plug into the connector either way flipped over it will still slide into the connector , my question is will you still have the parking filament lite up and the larger brake filament when you step on the brakes no matter which way its plugged in ?

I would also go to a colorado forum like 355nation or others as there is a great resource from other owners that have had the same issues as you.

    Yup all these trucks are Lemons 🍋! Seriously as I’m reading through the comments I can relate to just about everyone of you, I have an 05 4wd 4door straight five and yes it looses all lights once in a while, the blower fan stops and frys out atleast once a winter, the master fuse went,it overheated for awhile until I put a new radiator in it, and now the latest issue is that all the blinkers and hazard lights stopped blinking,lighting and there’s no clicking or sound! I’m pretty mechanically inclined and have fixed every single issue except these damn blinkers! I’m sure it’s something pretty easy like a dirty ground or rusty connection or something but someone out there has had this problem and got it fixed? Any help would be appreciated before I stuff a roll of paper towels down the gas tank and light a zippo and run!!!!

    • @josephpayne9655
      @josephpayne9655  3 года назад

      Yep I hear you, lack of dependability. And the electrical is very problematic. Why i go rid of mine. and got a first gen Toyota Tundra . To answer your question I will say this first clean the grounds. Second : The front turn signals have a
      harness that goes bad here is the part number.
      Genuine GM 19121867. What I would suggest is one ensure your lights parking and turn light up . Then I would swap the left turn signal harness with the right ( leaving the other harness unplugged) and see if it works If the left doesnt work plugged into the right side, then take the right side harness and plug it into the left side . That will possibly eliminate the idea that the harness for the turn signals are bad. And the problem lies elsewhere. I would also suggest that you go to 355nation.com and see what the members there have to say about the problem if my suggestion doesnt reveal the problem. Good Luck

    • @josephpayne9655

      check intake filter, throttle body, and MAF sensor as they may need cleaning . after that check all vacuum lines and ensure they are all connected with no breaks or cracks. If nothing pops up here, the next issue you may need to address is possible overheating.

      Speaker is not working. Most newer vehicles use the BCM to control the blinkers and the radio is the sound/click output. It usually is only through 1 Speaker on the drivers side but could be the door Speaker/tweeter or the speaker in the dash/A Pillar. Run the audio control to the front and switch side to side and see if all speakers are working properly.
