BRO!!! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video! I replaced the harness (which was burned out) and the Resistor which was also smoked and still NOTHING... Guess what it was? That little tail brown wire on the bottom of the passenger side door connector just like your last point in this video. You saved me carrying it to the dealer because I was SO frustrated. Man I appreciate this video, I had 12 volt to blower motor but no ground and thanks to you I found the ground wire by air filter box, it was actually the ground connection block pin/ female side that was melted. Wiggled the wires and blower motor is back on. Wound up cutting ground from ground block for blower motor and ran it's own ground.
My friend you are a beast! My blower would cut out while driving for no reason and turn back on when it felt like it. Happened to be the ground on the fender beside the air cleaner was loose. Thanks again.

very good video for the i290/Colorado/Canyon. I'm in the process of fixing mine for the third time. First was resistor, then a short in the wire behind the glove box, that was melting my glove box, now I don't know what this third problem is. That truck has THE WORST blower fan wiring!!! So very many people have problems.
Thank you!! This weekend I worked on my girlfriend's Isuzu pickup and ultimately I found the exact same problem. The 12v power (brown wire) connection was burned out at the large white connector below and to the right of the glove box. I clipped the brown wire off at both sides of the large connector, then used a crimp connector to join both ends of the brown wire - just like in the video. Her blowers works once again :-)
Thank you! I had lost speed 3 on my 2007 Colorado and watched a different video to fix that. It was lost a year before the blower just quit working. When I pulled the resistor and harness I only saw burn on 3 so I kind of figured that wasn't why it quit. Sure enough after replacing it still had nothing on power. I just knew I was never going to find a video pointing me in the right direction, but found yours and it did! I had the same exact problem, bypassed it just like you did and now it is working just fine. Do I need to be concerned that may cause another issue? I am not sure why it goes in that junction box; did I understand you to say it was just a junction and not supplying power elsewhere to by being in the box? I know very little on this stuff. I know enough about electrical work to get something caught on fire real good. LOL I thank uyou for this. No complaints here, just praise. Appreciate what you do.
Check the ground wires for the blower and the resistors under the hood. There's a bunch, 4 or 5, all screwed to the fender on the passenger side. Sand them , and clean the screw that holds them, and I be your fan will work on all 4 speeds. Please let me know if this works, I found this out from another brother on u tube....Stan Hawaii

I was making fun of your accent for awhile and doubting you but that stupid connector was the issue too! On mine you could actually see it burn brown on the white flat part of the connector. When the brown and orange wire is not plugged into the blower motor I have 12v to the brown wire and nothing to the orange wire. When I plug it into the blower motor I get 12v coming out of both wires. Is that supposed to happen?
Suddenly no blower motor power 12 v to motor replaced resister ? still no go. checked the ground LOL tapped on it and well well bad ground G106 behind air cleaner on right inner fender.

This exact same problem happened to me the day before, I'm in the process of figuring it out, I don't want to take to mechanic though, they would probably charge me and arm and a leg. I was able get a blower motor for $96, going to replace the blower tommorow or the next day. I checked the blower fuse and it was good, the only other thing I think it could be is the switch itself if my replacement blower doesn't fix it. The reason I believed it my be the blower or the switch is because the fuse was good and if it was the resistors, 4 should still work. It could also be the cable itself, I'll have to check that too. On mine the AC pump works still so that also led me to believe its the blower or switch I'll post back here if I fix it.
@@nemesiswes426 yeah i checked fuses and still nothing but im starting to think its the resister i can feel air come on but no noise what so ever i unpluged the main cprd to the resister no melting so it might be the resister and i take out my dash to get everything unplugged and plugged back in place but i do know i might buy a jew blower also i found a jew one on amazon and ebay for 35 so i can wait a few days to save some cash
@@Captaintripps1 I finally found my issue, it was the Fan Speed Dial.You can check if its the blower which you can do by just taking it out and then directly hook it up to the battery with some alligator clips. Once that's checked and your sure its not the wiring harness or anything. what I did was I opened my dash to get to the Fan Speed dial. I disconnected it and then checked for resistance across all terminals on all settings, mine had infinite on all no matter how i connected them whereas it should be basically a short between at least two of them when on one of the settings at least. I also then checked if the connector to the dial had power coming to it by checking for 12 volts on the connector, it has like 7 connectors, so I had to check a bunch. Once I saw that had power which was on the top terminals in my case and I checked the resistors and wiring, i ordered the whole assembly which for mine was this ACDelco 15-73870. When I got it, I took off the Fan speed dial and connected it up with the fan blower to test and sure enough it started right up and all speeds worked. I had also checked if it was the wiring by first making sure that no power was on, then put one end of the multimeter with it set to resistance on to one of the output terminals on the fan speed power connector, the lower terminals(mine has 4) and then checked the blower power terminals for any resistance. But you should show resistance on I believe at least 3 or 4, don't remember. You will see various resistance values which would indicate your resistors are intact. Im pretty sure its 4 for the 4 different settings on my fan speed dial, 3 will be higher resistance sine 4 is no resistor. If you have 4 settings but see like 2 and the others infinite then those resistors might be burned out and if 4 shows infinite then it might be wiring issue. Funny enough, before I found the fix, the dealer I went too said in his 35 Years he has never heard of the dial being the issue, I was trying to get a replacement dial only instead of the entire assembly which I ended up buying on amazon. I needed a new dial to see if it was the issue. He was certain it would be a wiring issue, lol. Good Luck fixing your issue and be careful with the mutlmeter, NEVER CHECK FOR VOLTAGE WHEN ON RESISTANCE, lol, Almost did that 1 too many times. If have any questions, I will do my best to help, fing annoying when the ac goes out in the middle of summer, lol. P.S. I am in no way qualified to help anyone with car issues, I almost always have to use RUclips to fix my car troubles, lol.
@@nemesiswes426 o checoed it all out and it was my main plug that pligs into the fan it was burnt but i fixed in a good 15 minutes by rewired the plug and making new plastic around it so its working again im glad its working again its been hot as hell
I did not like watching your video. I was unsure what you were talking about some of the time and the print to which you were referring wasn't explained very well. When you spoke, you were often unsure of what you wanted to really say and the video was not very professionally done. That said, it was the first video that actually explained what I should be looking for and exactly what I should be testing, and not just "replace this harness, check this relay." I must have watched two dozen shop guys, professional mechanics, back-yard auto professionals tell me what was wrong with my truck's heater blower. All talked along the same theme and I now know generally about the heating system of my truck, but in the end, it still wasn't fixed. At the very end of your video, you speak about the connector, behind the passenger side panel, and you were the only video that suggested I look there. Seriously, go watch a few yourself and no one even mentions that connection, #104 I think. Yes that was it. The issue was not easy to find, but by walking back each wire and finding where it connects to the next in line, I found out where the blower motor was shorting out. So, for all the problems I had watching your video through to the end, it was the ending that gave me the answer to my problem with my beautiful 2011 Canyon. Thank you and well done for being thorough.
I agree that this man knows how to do analysis. He may not be the most polished speaker or RUclips person but he knows how to go through a electrical diagram and figure out what the problem is. I concur that he is absolutely awesome.

The blower consumes that energy if anything you’re supposed to get nothing on orange and voltage only on brown
