The grounding blocks can cause all kinds of issues including false error my recommendation is to get rid of those pesky grounding blocks and and connected the all to one ground on the firewall. Also go and sign up for the 355 group on the internet they are colorado canyon enthusiasts and they will also be able to share their knowledge with you. Good luck

Hi - oh my great video! I’m also having issues with my 2006 Canyon. Recently put her back on the road (I’m not a mechanic but eager to learn). Everything was going great until suddenly my cluster gauges started with ADHD, work/not work etc. check engine light still lit up (always has been) and anti theft light but nothing else. Pulled it all out - checks out fine. A week later my cig lighters quit working. Next when I was replacing a rear speaker - no luck. Tried 3 different speakers in that same spot - nothing- but 2 of the other speakers work in the truck. Yesterday I’m driving on the freeway and drivers start yelling at me telling me I have NO BRAKELIGHTS!!! So now this is the 4th electrical issue in 3 weeks that I still can’t figure out. I’ve checked every single ground I can find and cleaned and reconnected them. I’ve replaced fuses and bulbs. I went on a wild goose chase for some G300 under drivers seat under carpet- took both seats and carpet out and did those grounds too. I’m at a total loss for what’s going on here. My battery is new, I’m gonna try replacing the Mega Fuse because that one does have some corrosion (only fuse i didn’t do). I’ve put so much work into this truck and have very little money- without brake lights and cluster she’s basically a decoration in my driveway. PLEASE HELP

I fear I'm having the self same issues. I'm replacing the headlight switch now but am dubious about it solving all my issues. I do know the switch is bad because the dimmer wheel wreaks havoc when you touch it so we shall see. Yessiree! I'm pretty handy under a shadetree but electrical is my weakest link. If this liltruck wasn't SO clean and reliable it would've been gone several times in the past year or so due to electrical issues, and evap stuff. Instead I spent about $2k on heavy maintenance brakes, tires and repair last fall and drove it from Illinois to FL and back and it was flawless other than not liking the Fl traffic and 80 mph maneuvers on the interstate! Thanks for the update I'll keep it for now as it's paid for and still very reliable start and run wise. New trucks being $25k plus I can fix a lot of stuff! :) @@josephpayne9655

Mine has has a bad headlight switch, broke wires in the door hinge area and broke injector and coil control wires... On my third instrument cluster.. they randomly die and sometimes come back on worse and worse... Driver window wouldn't work after the battery went dead.. Turned out to be a bad door switch. Heater speed control switch burned up along with 3 or 4 heater resistors and plug harnesses... Chevys are awesome. Frame only had to be welded once so far...

Damage report: bed and rockers are toasty, frame is still holding up(fluid film every year), driver seat has giant wormhole that swallows up anything important that accidentally gets dropped, driver lock solenoid inop, heater inop unless you beat the blower motor like it owes you money, the tailshaft bushing is gapped out letting the front yoke flop at low speed, all bushings have lost their rubber, a arms click and clunk, driver wheel bearing is shot, all ball joints are shot, column u joint has play (been replaced before), abs is inop, no engine lights! I had just changed both o2 sensors to fix last codes, rotors are paper thin (I put new pads on after letting it go metal on metal for a month, no garage and it's cold here), I jb welded the whole filler tube to head off future evap codes and I have to wiggle cam sensor wiring when it won't start... other than that..... she's cherry.

check intake filter, throttle body, and MAF sensor as they may need cleaning . after that check all vacuum lines and ensure they are all connected with no breaks or cracks. If nothing pops up here, the next issue you may need to address is possible overheating.

If memory serves correctly, you open the drivers side door and remove the side panel on the dash I think its held in with one Phillips head screw and then you remove the trim around the headlight switch area. I think there are a couple of screws holding that on as well. If you look for videos on RUclips it may be similar to chevy trailblazer switch removal.

Yup all these trucks are Lemons 🍋! Seriously as I’m reading through the comments I can relate to just about everyone of you, I have an 05 4wd 4door straight five and yes it looses all lights once in a while, the blower fan stops and frys out atleast once a winter, the master fuse went,it overheated for awhile until I put a new radiator in it, and now the latest issue is that all the blinkers and hazard lights stopped blinking, lighting and there’s no clicking or sound! I’m pretty mechanically inclined and have fixed every single issue except these damn blinkers! I’m sure it’s something pretty easy like a dirty ground or rusty connection or something but someone out there has had this problem and got it fixed? Any help would be appreciated before I stuff a roll of paper towels down the gas tank and light a zippo and run!!!!

Yep I hear you, lack of dependability. And the electrical is very problematic. Why i go rid of mine. and got a first gen Toyota Tundra . To answer your question I will say this first clean the grounds. Second : The front turn signals have a harness that goes bad here is the part number. Genuine GM 19121867. What I would suggest is one ensure your lights parking and turn light up . Then I would swap the left turn signal harness with the right ( leaving the other harness unplugged) and see if it works If the left doesnt work plugged into the right side, then take the right side harness and plug it into the left side . That will possibly eliminate the idea that the harness for the turn signals are bad. And the problem lies elsewhere. I would also suggest that you go to 355nation.com and see what the members there have to say about the problem if my suggestion doesnt reveal the problem. Good Luck

Speaker is not working. Most newer vehicles use the BCM to control the blinkers and the radio is the sound/click output. It usually is only through 1 Speaker on the drivers side but could be the door Speaker/tweeter or the speaker in the dash/A Pillar. Run the audio control to the front and switch side to side and see if all speakers are working properly.

My 09 Canyon had a burnt fan control resistor. I replaced it, and it burned again. After some research I replaced it with the harness and resistor block from a Tacoma, a completely unrelated truck right? Apparently not because it works great now.

sounds like you found a great alternative. These truck even though they have a IMO great engine and drive train their electronics are very poor
