He fact that Tim & Pharrell went to the same school and used to beat on desks together still blows my mind. 2 of the GREATEST producers of our time. Excellence.
The fact that he’s wearing Pharrell’s shoes (I think) just speaks to their brotherhood. It isn’t competition, it’s unity. Any competition they have is carried through love
I knew he went through a depression after Aaliyah's death, but I had no idea he suffered from addiction. I'm so glad Tim is doing well and is in a good place in his life. This makes me so happy. 🙌🙏

I know exactly what hes talking about when he said god just said "no more" during his addiction. Being an ex heroin addict of 4 years it happened to me. One day god hit me with a feeling and i was like enough is enough and i got some suboxone and detoxed myself and never looked back, that was 5 years ago. Everyone alway says heroin is one of the hardest drug to come off of and it is but, from my experience quitting is the easy battle, staying off of it is the war. If you can stay strong and make it thru the first year, the hard part is over. You will come out the other side noticeably stronger and confident that there aint no obstacle you cant get over and the stresses of life and the thoughts of "how am i gonna get thru this" decline drastically. One good thing that came out of my addiction is that i am stronger and my confidence is higher. I no longer worry about things because "I KNOW" ill be victorious in battle.
When you look at all the beats that timberland has produced since the early 90s till now, you will realise that he is in the top 5 or 3 producers of all time. Each beat he has done is so unique and timeless.
My favorite collaboration is Aaliyah and Timbaland....their chemistry was playful and smooth....I feel like they both were muses for each other...their music came about so effortlessly.
Such an amazing interview. Being from VA, I watched his career take off with his early music and seeing how humble he is now, shows such wisdom. “You’re only as good as your team.” Hard to digest that in our younger years but with age comes wisdom and he truly is an inspiration. Thanks, Tim, for working hard to give us so many great times with your music and for keeping up the good fight. I’ve sailed to many countries and rocked your jams for many people. I grew up listening to his music and didn't really appreciate it as much as I do now. Just listening to him describe the way he produces music made me smile, how he started just from his keyboard at home and became one of the best producers. Just amazing! Great interview.
Your thoughts on how important music can be to people is spot on. Frequencys can move people in ways we dont understand, but when theres a flow to it, when u hear something that makes u feel good, it can change the outlook on your Day. So Thank You Timbaland for your dedication to your craft and staying in it through all your ups and downs. When that music vibe is correct.. Everything seems to fall into its place. Your music will be heard and felt Forever. Timbaland the Best and we know this.

Going through a transition, as well with a friend of mine. Talking about music I mentioned Timbo. We went down a great ride of music. Watching this interview lifted me up. Fill me back up with the passion I lost. Stay humble n true.
He once said in an interview, the whole production game has changed. You don't have many great producers anymore, you now have great programmers. Most of these new kids don't even know how to make their own drums, melodies, basslines or percussive sounds, because most of them have never played an actual instrument before. Now, they just resample and recycle everything, using nothing but a computer and some software.
yeah and I'm from that crop. You cant blame them though you gotta think about how much more music was in the regular school system. Thats been cut out a long time ago so unless your folks have money or you grow up in church or something many cant afford instruments and lessons and stuff. its a bit different with internet now though but most kids have never even touched an instrument. They still know what sounds good though
The beautiful thing about Timb is the fact that he isn't like all those other artists, he stay smart, focus and humble, he doesn't go around having celebrity beefs and situation, that's just beautiful, he really is somebody that someone can look up to.
Fabio Viana i was just about to say Nelly Furtado...when "Say It Right" came out i literally didnt even know what genre it was, but i DEFITNITLEY loved that song.
As a teenager, I began my musical journey briefly as a street DJ and overseas club DJ in the 80's, before eventually discovering my true calling in creating my own music. I have had many influences over the years of listening to music and experiencing different cultures, however, Timbaland and his innovative sound has been by far one of my greatest musical influences. This was such a great interview exploring key pages and chapters of life from one who has always been ahead of time in music, who continues to set the bar in innovative music design and production. Long live the King. #Respect

when timbaland explained about the depression part I cried a tear, I can't express how much this was so relatable but one thing I want to say is glad to see timbaland back and better, this is something am working myself glad to see this video
Complex throwing down the wild card. We can't dislike this. THIS IS TIMBALAND. THE BANE EXISTENCE OF MY CHILDHOOD.
how do you not play snippets of the beats that come up throughout the interview? how in the hell don't you do that?
When you have to pay licensing on each music cue, that's how. It becomes extremely expensive if you're clearing everything.
Alexander Bollbach b/c Noah prolly stole this idea/credit from someone at Complex just like Joe Budden said he does. 😂
I was thinking the same thing and waiting to hear some every time lol
Alexander Bollbach pretty sure you need a license for that...he owns nothing bruh.
Alexander Bollbach i literally came to the comments to see if its just me who is upset about that
I like how the host made sure he wore his Timbos for this video lol
Timberland is awesome, he inspired many people to produce music. Never know what your talent can take you
Timberland????? Fuck out a here!!! TIMBALAND!!!!!
ha smh
I wasn’t expecting to see you here, you used to comment on my old beat videos haha
That's dope how jay z would give tim the flow/rap before the beat was made. Timberland's sounds was/is so unique and innovative.
I remember hearing THE POTION beat was for Jay Z but he passed on it ... Then Tim gave it to Ludacris... and Luda Bodied it ... Look up “THE POTION” by Ludacris ... One of his many 🔥🔥🔥BEATS
This is the moment he actually shows it to him

@@AlehandroSosa JAY liked it, but knew it was better in the vault...
👍🏽If I had the choice I'd of chose the the dirt of your shoulder beat, over the potion too.
ZeroChill 215 I use to bump that hard my senior year!
Going through a transition, as well with a friend of mine. Talking about music I mentioned Timbo. We went down a great ride of music. Watching this interview lifted me up. Fill me back up with the passion I lost. Stay humble n true.
Love these interviews. More about the art than the drama. Great job hope to see more
His goatee is shaped like headphones 🎧 that tells he's the 🐐 producer!
Enter: Daft Punk
yeah and I'm from that crop.
One word: Genius

Timbaland is so wise.
The beautiful thing about Timb is the fact that he isn't like all those other artists, he stay smart, focus and humble, he doesn't go around having celebrity beefs and situation, that's just beautiful, he really is somebody that someone can look up to.
Aaliyah Baby Girl ❤ 👼 🌈 ☁

Fabio Viana i was just about to say Nelly Furtado...when "Say It Right" came out i literally didnt even know what genre it was, but i DEFITNITLEY loved that song.
In that ORDER!!!
Fabio Viana she's a close 6. Maybe even 5b but Tim did greater work with the others
I wish he and Jay-Z made a full album together during their prime. They've made great music.
#Respect
This is a really dope and necessary interview!
the hey papi beat is one of his most underrated..shit is a monster
He has too many of those... The Bounce is crazy too
the only producer I thought was the greatest to ever do it was Timbaland. when I heard pony by ginuwine I was like yoooooo this beat crazy lol and then I heard Aaliyah music and i lost it lol also I was in the marching band round his time like 96 trying to make beats like Timbaland but as a marching band. fast forward I started making beats 2002 trying to be like Timbaland lol..... wrong. I do have some heat but not like Timbaland. if I was under his wing I would be just as great.
Timbaland is amazing when it comes to music, his music mind is beyond this Galaxy. To me he is one of the greatest to ever do it
Upload some beats bro...
Bob, me thought you was dead man!
Timberland, Missy and Aaliyah also Ginuwine and Static were the dream team ❤️.
That was a real treat. Always loved Tim's beats, but now love his perspective and newfound humility. Great stuff!
This nigga made so many Hits back in the day. He is a certified hit maker. One of the GOATS. Great Interview.
"I'm this guy who had this power that didn't understand his power" that was deep...
Super dope. Hope DeVante gets an interview like this one day.
Facts
timbaland was DEFINITELY ahead of its time. this is what talent is.
This guy knows how to create quality sound beats. He has the talent to take any music artist in the world, create music sound beat, take a written song, apply the sound beat to their voice, and create great music. From high school to college, I rocked Timbaland’s! music!!!🎶 🎼 🎵
The body of work he made and still is hungry, love you man you are great!
