Being a Producer is some one that directs and oversees the vision of the record durning recording sessions, coach the artist, give feed back, vocal arrangements. They have nothing to do with making beats. They are the visionary of the entire record being made from start to finish. Beatmakers are the same thing as Songwriters and Composers as its part of the songwriting pre-production process. They are generally credited as Writer, Composer, Instrumentation, Keyboards or Drum Programming in production credits while real producers are credited as Producer like Quincy Jones. I started out as a beatmaker in 2004 before i became a record producer in 2008 working with my first artist in the studio one on one. Making beats doesn't make you a producer. Scott Storch is both a Songwriter and a Record Producer as he does more than just make beats. When you look at Scott Storch credits, you will notice hes credited twice for both roles as Writer and Producer. Thats why Beat makers get publishing royalites because they are Songwriters of tracks. Publishing companies reffer to them as "Track Writer's" and the Lyricist reffered to as a "Top-Liner" that writes the lyrics on top of the pre-made beat. Thats what you call 50/50 Songwriting which is industry standard.
Eman 08 producer means a lot of things.. if you make the beat and record the vocals arrange everything then you are credited as a producer.. I make beats and work with artist as well
@Eternal rewind2. No I'm a "real" Producer as I don't make beats all the time. Before I became a beatmaker in 2004, I was an active keyboard player since 1998. Many times, I'm coaching an artist, coordinating vocal and song arrangements with no beat-making involvement what so ever as I wear many different hats depending on my roles. I give feed back to suggest what to add in and what to take out that's what a Producer does. Producers are more like a managing role in the studio. They are like Film Directors. Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins has said this very same thing. People that record, track, mix and edit, are credited as Engineer. That's why when you look at Scott Storch's credits, you will see him credited "two" times for a lot of songs as both "Writer" and "Producer" I just don't know how I could break this down ever more simpler to you. Scott Storch was credited as Writer for Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River. Timbaland was also credited as writer for the beat and Justin credited as writer for lyrics. Timbaland was credited again as Producer for directing and coordinating the session. String section arrangement for "Cry Me A River" was conducted by Larry Gold with The Southwest Chamber Orchestra. Song was recorded and mixed by Jimmy Douglas in Timbaland's studio. People often mistaken Scott Storch making beats as being a Producer when really that's a Songwriter/Composers job. When hes not making beats, hes wearing the Producers hat working in the studio with his clients. If people want to know who made the beat to any song, they should be looking at Writers/Composer credits not Producer. Beatmakers are credited along with lyrical songwriters that write the lyrics. I'm a registered ASCAP member as we are registered as Songwriters and Composers. There is no category for Producer for ASCAP because Producers are management roles in the studio. I'm wearing many hats as I'm a Songwriter/Producer, some times an Audio Engineer and Session musician. Been doing this stuff for nearly two decades.

Ayesha Go. Agreed
Ayesha Go. Hello Ayesha how are you? I'm an artist and I was just wondering if you could check out some of my work? And give me honest feedback?
Scott Storch is the reason I started playing the piano. God has blessed him with a gift and I am glad that he shared it with the world. Your impact is your music
How long have you been playing
Something about this guy, makes him so likeable and good hearted seemingly
Young Pavblo he's a selfish deadbeat that abandoned his mom and made millions while she had 30 year old carpet. He has a son that produces and he won't even help him out. Look it up, he's a scumbag.
It’s crazy that this guy is still around and you see him credited as a producer on so many songs
SDF Productions Right! and still getting a big bag all these years later.
MAC BLAST yeah man hope to be like him one day
SDF Productions I hope you make it big. It can happen brother.
don't be like him, be you, you want to be remembered as scott storch 2 or you?
MAC BLAST still getting big bag? More like getting even more and more big bag exponentially
Scott Storch is the Mozart of our generation and not too many people know it
I feel you with that, but I would go a little further and say more like Johann Sebastian Bach with the way he, compose putting rhythms and Harmonies together, but on the mention of not a lot of people knowing, Facts!!!!
No. Lol
Excuse me?! Take ANY composition from ANY (famous classical composer pre 20th century) and put the score next to (the most complex) Storch production - and you'll instantly see - even if you don't have the slightest clue about music theory - how wrong a comparison like this is. I bet even SS would shake his head, if he heard someone say something like that.
Seriously.
@@ahareally Bro, bro..... chill. That's why he said "of our generation". Our generation doesn't really listen to Mozart or ANY (famous classical composer pre 20th century). It's THE 20th century and Storch is killin' it!
@@seomil8622 Brilliant - apparently it's demographic-related. Translation: "Yo, gotcha bro yo, me spliffin' it totally chill-bonkers ey! Storch is killin' it like Mosard. Peace out bruh!" _insert fancy hip gang sign_
I grew up listening to your music, you are a legend Scott!
Storch a living legend 🐐. Thank you for all my childhood bangers
Storch got a lot of hits left in him !

great producer, great musician, visioanry and a fckn legend....he made a few bad choices, lost most of his money, but he came back, he´s still here and still relevant...
These comments are disrespectful. This man created the songs we all bopped too and this is the nonsense that people comment about him because he's not the choice producer any more. Smh. He's talented period. Whatever the issue he does deserve to be honored for his accomplishments.
yup
Very well said
GadgetBeat 30 who is hating or being disrespectful? I see majority of em showing love and respect. I see what you tried. Stop it!
Yash Upadhyay The comments that were left when this was posted were not supportive. How bout you take a scroll there and pop off my comment. Have a great day.
Never acknowledge that which is beneath you. Lions care not about the opinions of sheep.
We need a Scott Storch movie
This man is definitely up there with Dre and all the Goats easily! This man taught himself how to play the piano
Industry & everyone should be giving him his flowers today.
In his new music I can still hear pain, struggle & hope in the instrumentals. Power & respect from Melbourne Australia

So skilled! He is one of the greats already Scott. That talent is undeniable.
True! Very musically talented. He is already well established, well known and respected in the game, he doesn't need DRE!
Salute to Steve Lobel.. Imagine if the world had more people in it who believed in second chances, kept their word, didn’t judge you for your past, truly believed in your talent and went hard in the paint for you. The world would be a much better and richer place. Glad that you’re back Scott Storch! #Salute

I think everyone is like that. Like him. I mean God has kept that one person who'll be there waiting to pick u up when u hit rock bottom. It never has to be someone U're cool with or have helped before. God is the greatest. 💓

Scott is just on a different level ! His beats and riffs are legendary status...they *NEVER* get old or out of style.
Shoutout to the producer community

Aye game whats good
Being a Producer is some one that directs and oversees the vision of the record durning recording sessions, coach the artist, give feed back, vocal arrangements.
I'm sorry but 90% of the people who watched this have no clue what a mastermind and genius this guy is. Man I'm so glad he's back.

Wow this was deep. The man had his demons and made mistakes, but he came out the other end and is still out here doing what he loves which is making music. Legend

Losing him was a huge turning point for the genres at large so even all that turned their backs on him didn’t know they were killing their own future success and the survival of our sound. He will always be a legend & I cannot wait till he’s back on top rebuilding this broken music.
The way this video was put together is simply amazing. The editing, music placements... flawless
