- Scott Storch - Still Storch (Vevo Original)
There are few music careers like that of Scott Storch. The esteemed producer-songwriter made his initial mark in Philly as a key member of the Roots. A great start, but just the beginning of a wild ride to the top. Storch’s way with crafting hooks and shaping melodies, as well as his knack of being in the right place at the right time, brought him to Cali, where the inspired keyboardist began shaping the sound of pop, hip-hop and R&B, working with an array of artists that stretch from Dr. Dre and Beyoncé to 50 Cent Christina Aguilera. The hits rolled in, the money stacked up, and creativity exploded. A big chunk of the 2000’s best music has Storch’s name on it. Then, through a string of drug troubles and monetary woes, he dropped out of sight for decade. It was the music’s loss. Now he’s back in action, and our intimate profile ‘Still Storch’ paints a portrait of a man who’s seen it all and is still cranking out great tracks. These days his studio hosts artists such as French Montana, Chris Brown, A$AP Ferg as well as talented newcomers like Kyle and Thutmose. A victory come-back. For hip-hop fans, ‘Still Storch’ is a must-see mini-doc, an extended look at talent, addiction, and an unyielding passion for artistry.

Storch was important to the hip-hop and r&b genre because he crafted beats from scratch and many were top 10 hits. Very important figure in the music business.
So many don't know he made still dre with his hypnotizing piano cords. That shit made the record but he gets little to no recognition for that anthem. Dude is dope
Yeah I'm so blowed still bangs
Besides like.. the name of this document..
Dre paid him.in millions
So two facts 1. Dr Dre has always got assistance making his beats. Check out IT AIN'T NO FUN (snoop) & WARREN G (kinda easy when you listen). They both have the same exact sound. So Warren bit Dr.DRE or He helped produce the SNOOP Record and went uncredited. 2. He didn't fully produce anything for Dr.Dre
It ain't no stealing they worked together. Dre never said I made this piano rhythm. I realise fans beef for the ones that are cool with each other
The fact I had no idea that he was responsible for so many hooks on so many bangers says a lot about the music business. Thanks for all the memories I have from the 2000s, you are one of the best that ever will be.
The term "musical genius" is used far too much, but in Scott Storch's case, he's the definition of it.
No 🧢
Musical genius youd reserve for classical composers.. Scotts one of the greatest but only in realms of the simplest and most basic of music genres ever created.

That's what happens when you place all your trust on "sell"-ebritys. They only care about one thing & it is not you
@@edub9930 Exactly bro, the only big artists supporting him at the moment are The Game and Rick Ross. The least Dre could do is pull Scott back into his studio, because let's be real for a second, those keys from Still Dre is what made that record a megahit. Even to this day it's all over social media and it's all because of the piano.
Problem is you can try but until people want help they're not going to listen, they're going to blacklist you too. Sometimes you have to let people destroy themselves before you can do anything and nobody wants to stick around to watch that. Especially with Scott's situation where he feels he had a bigger issue with what he would do and spend while he was on coke rather than the coke itself.
@@nigelvee1745 Dre does not owe him anything and if it wasn't for Dre, this record would've never seen the light of day. Scott's piano part was a major part of the track but the beat, the piano part, Snoop & Dre - it all made it a megahit.

Busy Works Beats you too are doing an amazing job bro..
Aye game whats good
Being a Producer is some one that directs and oversees the vision of the record durning recording sessions, coach the artist, give feed back, vocal arrangements. They have nothing to do with making beats. They are the visionary of the entire record being made from start to finish. Beatmakers are the same thing as Songwriters and Composers as its part of the songwriting pre-production process. They are generally credited as Writer, Composer, Instrumentation, Keyboards or Drum Programming in production credits while real producers are credited as Producer like Quincy Jones. I started out as a beatmaker in 2004 before i became a record producer in 2008 working with my first artist in the studio one on one. Making beats doesn't make you a producer. Scott Storch is both a Songwriter and a Record Producer as he does more than just make beats. When you look at Scott Storch credits, you will notice hes credited twice for both roles as Writer and Producer. Thats why Beat makers get publishing royalites because they are Songwriters of tracks. Publishing companies reffer to them as "Track Writer's" and the Lyricist reffered to as a "Top-Liner" that writes the lyrics on top of the pre-made beat. Thats what you call 50/50 Songwriting which is industry standard.
Eman 08 producer means a lot of things.. if you make the beat and record the vocals arrange everything then you are credited as a producer.. I make beats and work with artist as well
@Eternal rewind2. No I'm a "real" Producer as I don't make beats all the time. Before I became a beatmaker in 2004, I was an active keyboard player since 1998. Many times, I'm coaching an artist, coordinating vocal and song arrangements with no beat-making involvement what so ever as I wear many different hats depending on my roles. I give feed back to suggest what to add in and what to take out that's what a Producer does. Producers are more like a managing role in the studio. They are like Film Directors. Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins has said this very same thing. People that record, track, mix and edit, are credited as Engineer. That's why when you look at Scott Storch's credits, you will see him credited "two" times for a lot of songs as both "Writer" and "Producer" I just don't know how I could break this down ever more simpler to you. Scott Storch was credited as Writer for Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River. Timbaland was also credited as writer for the beat and Justin credited as writer for lyrics. Timbaland was credited again as Producer for directing and coordinating the session. String section arrangement for "Cry Me A River" was conducted by Larry Gold with The Southwest Chamber Orchestra. Song was recorded and mixed by Jimmy Douglas in Timbaland's studio. People often mistaken Scott Storch making beats as being a Producer when really that's a Songwriter/Composers job. When hes not making beats, hes wearing the Producers hat working in the studio with his clients. If people want to know who made the beat to any song, they should be looking at Writers/Composer credits not Producer. Beatmakers are credited along with lyrical songwriters that write the lyrics. I'm a registered ASCAP member as we are registered as Songwriters and Composers. There is no category for Producer for ASCAP because Producers are management roles in the studio. I'm wearing many hats as I'm a Songwriter/Producer, some times an Audio Engineer and Session musician. Been doing this stuff for nearly two decades.
There are alot pianist but the only guy who amazed me , gave me goosebumps ! He showed musicians how producers are different from them , i wish i meet you once in life 💕

Whats the very first track he played on the piano? 01:54
I think everyone is like that. Like him. I mean God has kept that one person who'll be there waiting to pick u up when u hit rock bottom. It never has to be someone U're cool with or have helped before. God is the greatest. 💓
He produced the funkiest sounding beats ever. Absolute legend
Sounds that define time

That man has lived life to the fullest!
So skilled! He is one of the greats already Scott. That talent is undeniable.
True! Very musically talented. He is already well established, well known and respected in the game, he doesn't need DRE!
There are three types of people you should never forget in your life. The people who helped you in difficult times, the people who left you in difficult times, and the people who put you difficult times. Your music is still the best!
Shit was powerful!!.. A eye opener for who look at it that way!!! Bless you brother Scott!!
This guy's a fucking legend ....from still dre to lean back ...
Scott is just on a different level ! His beats and riffs are legendary status...they *NEVER* get old or out of style.
His piano playing is amazing! Mad respect to this musical genius

@@DerwoodEllington In all honestly if he invested that money he would of been a billionaire easily today without a doubt.

"He led us and guided us..."
Humility even at the very top of his game
I don't think many of the new generation know about this man and his massive music presence behind the scenes for close to three decades. He has helped shape the overall sound we've been jamming out to for years.
Hopefully a lot of new people are introduced to him by watching this.
The way this video was put together is simply amazing. The editing, music placements... flawless
lilsergio432 I was also shocked how good this little documentary is put together, so much effort was put in this
This guy is so talented! Hope he gets back on top...
That "one little part" as he describes it is the thang that made all those songs!! And when he produced whole beats like the candy shoo joint he could do that too ❤ he so talented. Im so glad Fat joe shouted him out on his track. I wished more rappers would shouted him out back then!!
