tags are ridiculous nowadays, some producers even pay for people to make their tags or ask their friend to say something and make it a tag. Tags like Metro's make a lot of sense, he took a catchy line from a hit song of his and made it into a tag, I don't get people and their tags nowadays paying for them, go and do a collab project with an artist and get him to say something with your name and if it'll turn out to be a hit song, use that for a tag, otherwise don't bother paying for a random tag
Timbaland has consistently had his finger print in chart topping music since the mid to late 90s he's responsible for the futuristic sonic change of sound in the late 90s, the success of soo many artists careers and too many other things to mention he deserves his flowers💐 now!!
As a producer I relate to almost everything Timbaland said, the reusing a sample, and drums to make something completely different, people expecting you to make the same type beats lol, he dropping knowledge
Man, thank you to @ProducerGrind for having Timbo on the show. I have been a long time fan and grew up in the generation he debut in, and even I didn't know about his servere injury from an attack. We almost never HAD a Timbo!! Him overcoming that and the way he expressed his purpose and drive afterwards brought me to tears, and that's hard to do. This video has helped me today, thank you to the entire PG team and Producer community!
There should be no other producer other than Timbaland and Pharrell that u need any production advice from in the music industry period!!!!! The sound they have contributed to music is not only top tier but it’s timeless!!!! Revolutionary, futuristic!!!!! It stands the test of time!!!!!
I think it’s a very limited platform. But he definitely does choose great beats. He knows his stuff, though everyone once and a while he trashes beats that aren’t bad at all or trash it too early on.
This is beautiful. The evolution. Seeing production come Full circle is amazing and it’s what everything is all about. Seeing a goat sitting down with the new generation is incredible.
Dylan coming back for this one is crazy! Need to. Timbaland is one of the best ever. Kanye had a crazy story about him on Lex Fridmans podcast. Said he mixed something muddy and nobody could fix it aside from Timbaland
Dude, you guys just interviewed a LEGEND, like FOR REAL GOAT. I know you know that, but just in case someone reading this ain't realize it. This has to be one of your best interviews ever.

The most legendary interview yet! Producergrind is really the watering hole for producers and so blessed Big Timbland came in and blessed us with the best gems! We Out Here!
Timbaland is literally one of the GOATS of music production period. Timb literally used frog noises, baby sounds and obscure noises and made timeless beats. Timb's beats have BOUNCE. Such a iconic producer that changed and innovated the game. His work with Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Nelly Furtado are masterpieces. Living legend!!!
He gave so much free game mannn 🙏🏽🙏🏽 so grateful for channels like these 💯 y’all are awesome keep up these podcasts. only way a young producer like me gonna learn faster 🙌🏽
Thank you for this amazing video and interview. Its extremely insightful and helpful. Talking about overcoming setbacks and disabilities, I have a newborn, he was born 6 weeks ago and hes still in the NICU. He was born with part of his front skull missing. After losing my mom earlier this year and my baby going thru this, I cant help but look forward with aggressive optimism. I discovered making beats in FL Studio in May and I thank god for this discovery because its been extremely helpful in processing my emotions. Its like a medicine, creating music and Im so thankful for it and the awesome community surrounding it.
I agree, the limitations back then pushed the producer to go deeper. Now days we’re given everything, drums, samples, plug ins etc. it’s unlimited. In other words, less is more.
This interview was epic and full of gems 💎 the way Timbo thinks is amazing fr. A bunch of sophisticated individuals picking each other minds just hits different. This is one of the best interviews I ever seen. You had your questions but you weren't pushy. You let the legend go where he wanted to go with his thoughts/comments and you three gentlemen Dylan, TB Digital and JBeats, asked your questions accordingly. Great job . Great interview. Very enlightening and helpful. I used tis interview to complete an assignment for school.
I like what he is doing for the community. I agree that the community just feels like it's imploding with people selling beats for $1 and all the stealing and crazy stuff. Having a place to go that has structure is cool. Something better than beat stars that you get the feedback that you really need to be successful. I don't think AI can replace humans... it's a tool. I think in some instances that it may make sense for someone to use the music that it creates. I would just worry about being creative like Tim is always advocating. He has the right mindset about music and is why he is so successful. I am focusing on being better period and finding my style. I think it's important part of being a producer, being able to reinvent yourself all the time. It's the one thing that really shows your devotion to the craft.
