  • Shoulder mount tips, tricks, and training steps to get there. Shoulder mounts are a great way of inverting to quickly gain height on the pole but they are FAR from easy! So many polers seem to do them with ease, making them look so effortless whereas most polers struggle with them for years. This week's featured tutorial is for those of you that are trying to unlock that seemingly mythical shoulder mount. This tutorial will break down some great shoulder mount progressions to help you build towards a strong and confident shoulder mount. These are great exercises to add into your regular training to help you both physically AND mentally conquering your shoulder mount!

    love your pep talk at the end! i am in the process of reshaping my attitude towards shouldermount. In the past i've always said that i cant do it (aerially) for various reasons or i dont like it bc xyz, and i now think its all just mental. i can do all of these prep exercises effortlessly. For some reason, i've allowed my negative thoughts to keep me from exploring shouldermounts fully. Anyways- i'm inspired, so thank you!

      Keep in mind that we all learn and progress at our own rate. So even id you feel like "everyone" picked up the shoulder mount more quickly than you, there is very likely some other move that you picked up more quickly than most. Keep putting in the work and you'll get there!

      Oh no! That is interesting. Hard to say what is going on with your shoulder mount without seeing what you're currently doing.
