Hi Ian, well that looked a bit of a chilly ride, with plenty of frosts on the verges along the way, I'm lucky as so far we've escaped the frost, just the usual rain 😂, oh, and how dare you block that poor car driver as he left the parking area, he was only on the wrong side of the road, whats wrong with that??, id almost forgotten how buys the UK motorways are, nice view from that bridge.........colin 😀
It's the A-pillars on modern cars. Great for their NCAP rating but you can lose a van in a right hand turn never mind a motor bike. No excuse for him not looking round it though.
That area of North Lancashire is certainly great riding country with spectacular views. I thought you were quite restrained over thar car incident, not sure i would have been quite so philosophical about it.
Thanks Glynn. I might just get another ride on Clementine first, as we are down in Nantwich again, and the weather isn’t looking too bad at times this week. 🤞
Nice ride out Ian thankyou, Albeit that low sunshine can be blinding and off putting, I still like the sound of Clemantine . Sorry to hear you have twisted your back whilst hoping it gets better soon. Perhaps riding Scorpio may have aggravated it ? Throttle on right side and fully open? Ah just a thought. Ride safe and be aware of those clowns on the road, Bfn Mike Sunny Wales
Thanks Mike. Yes, little Clementine still has a place in my heart. I don’t think Scorpio is responsible for the back, more likely mauling something at home.
Thick a pillars are a problem but the main property is poor driver education. If something restricts your vision you are supposed to move your bloody head and check properly. The car test if far to easy and needs to be toughened up a bit .
Hi Ian, I’m so glad I got fuel at Lancaster on my way to Arnside, I was gonna leave it and fuel up at that Texaco garage, but on passing it and it being closed for refurbishment work I was kinda glad I fueled up when I did. The guy in the car eh, it’s happening all to often and they look at ya like it’s your fault
It was a good job you had your wits about you then Ian, he clearly had the sun directly in his face and because of the angle you would have been partly obscured by his A pillar. Why do people take chances when they can't see properly and not wait until they are sure it's clear? The look of shock on his face when he realised you were there was priceless.
Think the sun was in his eyes. Love the bike, thinking of getting a second bike and this seems to fit the bill. Looking for a used one with luggage so keeping my eyes peeled and see what pops up.
Yes the sun was in his eyes, but he should have waited, and not just cut the corner…..no excuse 😉. The Classic is a cracking bike, hopefully you will have a look through my back catalogue, which also includes a long term owner’s review. Cheers
Hi Ian, thanks for the video! Regarding Win 11, if you run the Microsoft pc health check it will tell you what the upgrade issue is. It seems the most common problem is TPM 2.0 is not enabled or not present. It may be that your motherboard has it but you need to go into the Bios or UEFI to enable it. I have a pc that’s 6 years old now and running win 10 but I have the facility to switch on the Trust Module but I’m not in any hurry to move to 11!
Wow Simon, thanks so much for this. I will do exactly what you have just said (next week, as we are away again from today). As I am trying to get my head around Win 11 on the laptop, I agree Win 10 is better. Can’t understand why they decided to add more clicks to do the basics 🫣, bonkers. Even simple tasks like importing video from an sd card, isn’t as simple. Attach sd card reader, then open photos app, and click import. Previously, the minute you attached the card reader, it opened photo app, and the vids were there to import. I admit, when I went from 7 to 10, it took a long time to get used to it 😂. Thanks again.
@@ianhughesroyalenfield When MS do a firmware update nothing works properly in my experience. Last week RUclips was running at 144p with a solid signal, and dropping any channel after 30 seconds. Four days and a succession of firmware downloads later, everything came back. We're beta testers.
@@ianhughesroyalenfieldI keep thinking about getting a new windows 11 laptop but everytime a watch a beginners video,I end up thinking sod that and go back to my old laptop. I wouldn't worry too much about them withdrawing support for 10,as they said this about Windows 7 year's ago and I'm still getting regular security updates every 3/4 weeks which still keeps it up-to-date. 🙂
@bally632 windows 11 definitely takes some getting your head around. More clicks needed to the same jobs, seems backward. There are some things which seem better, but have to get your head around working in a different way. My main reason for buying a new laptop, was to be able to use Davinci Resolve 19….my old laptop (apart from being slow), wasn’t compatible with the requirements. I do have to keep using the new laptop, so I don’t forget how it works 😂
I am indeed using DJI’s. I have the OA4 on my helmet, fitted with DJI’s own mic adapter, and a now unavailable (bugger) Hama VSOP Notebook microphone. I have seen these mics pop up on eBay occasionally, so if you see them buy them. They have low sensitivity, which is ideal for our situation. I set the in camera recording volume to -8 then increase in editing. This avoids most of the clipping we get from wind noise, but still suffer occasionally when following other vehicles, or if a large vehicle (lorry/bus) passes in the opposite direction. On the whole it’s pretty good. I do have the DJI lav mic, which I did try with the OA3 (when it was fitted to my helmet), but still found it too “hot”, unless I maxed out the negative volume at -12. I found when doing that, we lost a lot of the ambient sounds. Maybe, with the OA4 going to -20, it might be better. I will have to try it in case the Hama fails. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately these heated bike socks need power from the bike, but I bought some heated insoles off Aliexpress (first time ever bought from them), they actually work. Just have to remember about the trailing wires when moving off the sofa 😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfield With my record of falling over, trailing wires sound like an 'elf an safety' nightmare🤣 I would have to be cordoned off with that yellow and black hazard tape⚠
That was close 😯 makes me laugh, the way they always look so indignant when you have to blow your horn at them 😂 how dare you be in the way 😂😂 all the best buddy 👍
Sad it’s Clementines last ride this year, at least she has a good horn though, or you might not have had to clean her for the winter lay up. He didn’t even have the decency to raise his hand to apologise 🤬 it makes you wonder how some people passed there test.
I think he was one of those who didn't have to do much to pass his test 😳🤣 Maybe a refresher course would be good. We have just brought Clementine down to Nantwich, but if I get the chance, I will take her for another spin before laying her up, so 🤞 for some dry weather. Cheers
Jeez Ian I reckon he would have driven through you if you hadn't blasted your horn "crazy" .Gotta say I am suffering at the moment with back issues all this cold weather doesn't help that's for sure muscles pull for a passtime when it's cold not nice at all 🥴👍
You are 100% right, bloody idiot. I really do feel for you Mal, the cold and damp really does get in there, then causes pain when you don’t know how or what you have done. This getting on a bit is sh*te 🙄🫣 Wishing you well.
What a plonker! You've got his number if you feel like sending the clip to the police, they should act on it, if only to remind him about going to Specsavers!! Great video, meant to say sorry to hear about your Dad. Take care, look forward to your next video. 👍
Windows 11 probably won't install because of only having TPM 1.2 instead of 2.0. Some of the tools that allow you to boot the installation ISO from a USB stick have an option to bypass the TPM check. I think "Rufus" is one that can do that.
I have just had a look at the TPM thingy you speak of. Definitely worth seeing if my PC has it, though it is getting on a bit. There was a really good explanatory video on RUclips, so will investigate when I get the chance. Thank you.
Bet that tosser in the SUV reckons he is a safe driver. Even with his view partially obstructed by his cage; should he have been observing his surroundings carefully before he moved into a road he should have seen you well before you were forced to use your horn by his incompetence. It seems that every time I use the road I get confronted by at least one stupid cage driver, the rapidly declining standard of peoples driving is becoming a worry. These prats seem to be oblivious to the fact that it is in fact a privilege to be able to drive on the road, not a god given right. Rant over. Very enjoyable video Ian; luv the ride out of Arnside; its like I've I actually ridden it, nice one bud. Regards to Ann and you ride safe fella.
Obviously you are 100% right Neil. On this ride (both vids), I encountered at least 3 notable instances of poor driving, hence my comment after this Muppet 😔. Love to you both.
Sadly, Ian, there's brain-dead drivers everywhere, oblivious to what's around them and feeling entitled to do whatever they like. It's far more prevalent these days, but it's by no means a new phenomena. Read John Betjeman's 'Meditation on the A30', written in 1966.

Definitely no excuse for pausing before pulling out 🫣😂
That area of North Lancashire is certainly great riding country with spectacular views. I thought you were quite restrained over thar car incident, not sure i would have been quite so philosophical about it.
I have learnt that being careful with my comments, reduces editing time 🤣
Another great video Ian great scenery, what a plonker poor observation, looking forward to the next t ride out on Scorpio.

I was surprised to see the refurb there, it’s not that long since it was last done 🤔. I am guessing that chap might have needed fresh undies 😂
I agree, he certainly didn't look as though he was bothered he had nearly knocked Ian off his bike. Typical of many of today's drivers sadly.
