UK based motorcycle vlogger, riding a Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn (Clementine), and Guerrilla 450 (Scorpio). The audio is unedited, so expect wind noise. What I hear in my helmet, you will hear on the video. My motorcycle’s are Clementine, a lovely little bike, well suited to the narrow country lanes which I lose myself on, and Scorpio, a very “un” Royal Enfield bike, and so much fun. As we have a Ford Van and Gobur folding caravan, we take one of the bikes on holidays with us, so expect ride videos from all around the UK. Some of the later videos have narration, most of the older one’s don’t. If you scroll through the older videos, you will find rides from when I had an Interceptor 650 too. You will also find some motorcycle ride reviews thrown in. Thanks for watching.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 | Milltir Cerrig Pass |
Hello,
Here, we take on the wintery conditions in mid Wales on Scorpio, my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. Riding along the B4391, and the Milltir Cerrig Pass. We had intended to stop and send the DJI Neo drone up at the Berwyn Mountains, but unfortunately it was too windy. So we continued on to Bala. The roads were awful, with a lot of standing water, with possible black ice underneath, and mud scattered in places you really didn't want it to be, so we had to be a bit careful !!!
The next video will be the return ride, with lovely wintery views.
I hope you enjoy this ride.
Thanks for watching.

Hello, Today, we are off out on Scorpio, my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, to top up with petrol, in readiness for our annual month away in mid Wales. Obviously we take the long route, why travel 2 miles, when you can travel 20 Ha Ha ! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this ride, even though the roads are very mucky. Scorpio needed a bath by the time we returned home....there are some before and after pho...

Hello, Welcome to the final episode; part five, of our ride around Snowdonia, on Scorpio, my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. Here we ride from Penrhyndeudraeth, returning to Harlech Castle, as at the time of recording, I was unsure whether the footage was watchable. Fortunately, it was, so this is a bonus video. In Harlech, we take a very very steep (25%) incline road, which had very tight hairpin...

Hello, Welcome to part four of our ride around Snowdonia, on Scorpio, my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. Due to unforeseen circumstances, in this episode, we retrace our steps a little, through Beddgelert, but take the left turn, onto the A4085 to Penrhyndeudraeth. Fortunately, there was very little traffic, so we could have some fun, on a cracking road....proper Guerrilla 450 territory. I hope yo...

I suppose if there’s been a good few car and lorries there’s less chance of ice but do be careful Ian👍. The sound is very good, your voice is clear and good engine sounds aswell. I think you would be froze on that hill flying the drone. No apology necessary Ian your ride are always interesting, have you seen that new wiper out ? It looks good but quite expensive?
Thanks Donna…..”new wiper out”, what’s that then ?
Its called Bike guard, not sure how much it is but looks very good 👌
thats a cracking bike that......
It is indeed, thank you ☺️
Well another great ride out Ian .Thank you . Watch out , there is a rumour that current stocks of the Guerilla are declining rapidly, Brought about by this guy called Ian Hughes who totally enjoyes his new purchase, Well not necessary new anymore but requires a bloody good clean, Until next time, Ride safe. Mike ,Sunny Wales
Thanks Mike. 😂 would be nice to have a bit of commission off sales 😂. Definitely needs a damn good clean, which I will try and do tomorrow.
You're a braver man than me, in those temperatures and conditions.
Brave or stupid 😳😂 It was sketchy in places, but at least it proved that the wet weather performance of the CEAT tyres, at least here in the uk, is absolutely fine 😎
The Police heard about your Spirited Riding & Guerrilla Tatics Ian & keeping a eye 👁 on you😂🤣.
Wouldn’t surprise me 😂, thanks RR
"There's not enough snow," I've decided Ian you must be crackers. Those snow topped mountains were spectacular but you wouldn't get me out on roads that wet and a temperature of only 2° but your obviously made of much sterner stuff. Great video.
Hi Ian Do you wear thermal leggings underneath your trousers?
Yes, definitely. Plus heated socks, and heated jacket powered by the bike, and battery powered heated gloves.
And so many complain about the Ceat tires 😮
Absolutely Julian, nothing wrong with them in my humble opinion. Just because they are not a “known” brand, doesn’t mean they are rubbish 😉
Another great ride out Ian , maybe the cops were out , looking for UFO activity.
😂 thanks Paul.
Evening Ian, another great vlog as always, up to your usual standard. If ever you continue along the main road into Bala be very careful when you enter the 30 zone, there is generally a Speed camera van parked on the right hand side, I know countless people who have got nicked at that spot for doing 32 mph!! I'm going to be really nerdy here, is it the camera view or has your clutch cable locknut at the lever end come undone, seems to be a gap there, told you it was nerdy!!🤔🤣🤣 Anyway, look forward to the return journey in part 2. In the meantime I hope you've bought plenty of anti corrosion and cleaning products with you.🙂👍
Thanks Jonathan, will have a look at the locknut when I clean Scorpio tomorrow……didn’t have time the other day, and had to whizz back to Nantwich for an overnighter, returning to the cottage later today. Yes, I have my anti corrosion stuff with me, so will get on it tomorrow. The Welsh fuzz are right t**ts, they have had me for doing “just over” in the past 🤬 Unfortunately, the next Wales vids will be in 1080p, as we are back to crap internet with an upload speed of 6mbps at best (that’s when it’s not dropping out) 😳 This means a 30 minute 1080p video takes between 4 - 5 hours to upload to RUclips. Bloody frustratingly slow 🫣😂
Yes iv watched all your videos lol very good..and your bike is cracking
Nice to know Robert, thank you.
Evening Ian, another cracking video, you definitely don’t need to apologise for not getting to go where you planned but considering the conditions just getting out on the bike was a heck of a achievement buddy, you’re going to have some fun on those roads later on in the year 😂 all the best buddy 👍
Thanks Mike. Unsure whether we will be coming back down to the cottage again in the summer this year, as lifestyle changes are afoot. I might explain in a video sometime, but in short, I need to get a proper job again 😢
@ oh,, bugger not a proper job 😥 yea this retirement lark isn’t cheap nowadays and as much as we’d like things not to change that’s not the way of life, you have to adapt and go forward, I’m sure you’ll be fine, I mean it’s not like you have had a normal (boring) lifestyle anyway 🤣🤣 snow and ice has about gone up here so the wee bike will be coming out again 🥳 ride safe buddy 👍
@mikehatswell3961 I just need two or three days a week, ideally working 3 weekends out of 4, allowing us to be able to return to Nantwich to take mum for appointments etc. Agreed, our lifestyle definitely hasn’t been boring 😊😎😂 Take care out there.
You're getting a "wind noise" because you're doing 100 mph and passing everyone in sight🤣!
😂 oh bugger, I hoped no-one noticed 😂 thanks Edward
Evening Ian 😊 no need to apologise for not getting where you wanted to go. I enjoyed this road very much, especially when I could feel the tension you were feeling going around some of those bends, especially that very wet one. Shame you didn't manage to get the drone up 😊 👍
Thanks James, the wind was even worse on the way back (next video). Yes some of the sections were a bit sketchy, definitely nothing wrong with the CEAT tyres. ☺️
@ianhughesroyalenfield those Ceat tyres are superb. I couldn't fault them on the Himalayan or the Classic. Poor old Avon didn't get any money out of me 😃
As I have said many times previously, there isn’t anything wrong with them, at least here in the uk. Maybe the road surface in other countries gives less feedback, maybe a different surface dressing to withstand higher temperatures. 🤔
Evening Ian, good run out that , looking forward to getting down Wales in a few weeks time! 😁👍
Thanks Mel, it should have warmed up a bit by then…….but then again you like the chilly weather 🥶😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfield 😅
Ah thanks ian for the fed back really appreciate that i live in northern Ireland. Am going to test ride a graillra 450 on this Thursday 16th January.. hope it goes well.. many thanks Robert 🎉
Hopefully the demo bike has a few miles in the clock, so you can really see what it’s like……I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Did you watch my first ride review ? With less than 15 minutes, I knew I had to have one 😂
Hiya Ian 👋. No need for you to apologise. That was a great video and those snow covered mountains looked spectacular! Ride safe. Regards, Mo 😊👍.
Thanks Mo, really pleased you enjoyed it, I was just gutted I couldn’t do what I wanted to, hey ho. I think the next video, which is the return ride, shows the scenery better, though I will let you be the judge of that 😉😂
Bit chilly for me. Having a ride to RE dealer in the morning now it’s a bit milder
Oops that comment was from me, forgot I was on my other channel (so one extra like)
3rd attempt!@@scootersbikesclassiccarsea122
😂😂😂😂, the more likes the better 👌. Have fun at the dealers 😎
Thanks for another great ride in dodgy conditions impressive scenery, looks good with the snow on the hills, hope to collect my Guerilla on Friday.
Ooo, another new bike on the road. I think you and Malcolm (see other comments), need to get together for a chat too. Take care, and keep me updated as to how you are getting on with it. 😎
Hi what do you think is a better bike.650 interceptor or the graillra 450 ... please advise I value your opinion
Well Robert, it’s all down to personal choice. Both are great bikes, the Interceptor produces a few bhp more, but is heavier. The Interceptor is a throbbing air cooled parallel twin, which goes really well, and handles really well too, but there is just something about the Guerrilla which wins the battle for me. The Interceptor looks like it’s from the 1960’s, whereas the Guerrilla looks like it’s from the 1980’s…..pick an era 😉. Best advice, test ride both. The throttle on the Guerrilla takes a bit of getting used to being a sensitive ride by wire, but oooo, when you get it 😎 Hope this helps in some way…….the Interceptor is a good bike though and I loved mine for 3 years 😂
How about doing a lap around Anglesey
That would be good, but I might try 3 Sisters first, as I have never been on a track day …….. that’s presuming you mean the Anglesey Circuit ? If you mean just going around Anglesey, it’s a bit far from where we are staying here in Powys, and where we are based on the north Lancashire/Cumbria border. That said, it could well be on the cards for a caravan trip (with the bike in the back of the van). Watch this space 😉 Cheers
The island not the track and I wouldn't consider it too far away
@richiektm it’s about a 4 hour round trip to get there and back, then however long to ride around it. Maybe in nice weather, but not in winter weather. Thanks for your thoughts though 👍
Good Morning from down under Ian. I recently bought myself one of these lovely little motorcycles and I'm wondering about the CEAT OEM's that it came with. Are you still running the CEAT's on yours or have you swapped them out for something that is more confidence inspiring? If so, what have you put on him? Cheers mate E
G’day mate (sorry, couldn’t help myself)…..no, still running on the CEAT’s, which I am truly happy with, even in these wet, and slimy conditions. In the dry, the handling is impeccable, and I certainly won’t be swapping them. Once upon a time (2018), I had a new Yamaha MT07, which had Bridgestone BT23’s (I think), and it was bloody awful, really vague, no feedback whatsoever. The CEAT’s are superb by comparison.
@@ianhughesroyalenfield Great info! Thanks for the reply cobber. Lovely smooth riding mate btw. 👍
@FoulolRon62 thank you, the Guerrilla is just so easy to ride…..he makes me look good 😊😂
Good ride ian love the bike
Thanks Rod,so do I 😂😎
Enjoyed that ride, thanks for braving the cold 🥶. Planning to get out Thursday, haven't figured out where yet. Take care
Thank you, still a bit iffy in places, but should be ok in the next couple of days. Take care yourself too.
Still looking shiny Ian well done 👏 take care mate 👍
Wasn’t shiny when we returned Keith, as you will see on the next video 😂😂
Thanks Ian, i will keep you up to date, probably take me a while to get it run in, hopefully the weather will be kind 🤞
Plenty of time to get it run in…..no need to go out in yukky conditions 😉
Yeah I know, I'm just itching to get out on it 😊
@malcolmtaylor3231 take care my friend.
@@ianhughesroyalenfield thanks Ian I will, it's them others you have to watch out for 🤔
Absolutely 🫣
Evening Ian, nice video again, dodgy road conditions for you. Good news, my Guerrilla is at the dealership, hopefully picking it up on Saturday 😊
Thanks Malcolm. Well that’s fantastic news, please keep me in the loop as to how you get on with it. Get it run in, and have some serious fun 😎
Your certainly getting some good use out of the guerilla
Doing my best …… 😎😂
Welcome to a Welsh winter wonderland.
Good evening Mark, lovely isn’t it ……. though it did look better a couple of days previously, I didn’t want to run the risk of bouncing / sliding down the tarmac 😳😂 Cheers
How would it fair with 2 up?
Perfectly fine I would think. Though I never ride two up nowadays.
I’m in the process of doing my license. I’ve been flitting about round different bikes, looking at Honda etc, but there’s something real about RE and their line that just plays to the heart but not necessarily the head!
In my opinion , these new 450’s (Himalayan or Guerrilla), are up there with any comparable bikes from the big boys. Some people are bound to disagree with me, which is fine, but in over 45 years of riding all manner of bikes from different manufacturers, I can honestly say, they are brilliant. Good luck.
I hope you Three have a grand time in Wales "lovely isn't " I'm sure you will find something interesting to show us .I'm going to play catch-up and watch some of earlier Guerilla videos. Enjoy
Thanks Philip, glad you are enjoying the Guerrilla vids. We are enjoying Mid Wales, though due to rather severe weather conditions on the roads, Scorpio hasn’t been out yet 🙄. I didn’t want to risk going out, as at my age, I wouldn’t mend very quickly 😂. Hopefully going out today for a bimble 🤞
It's great you doing videos on the bike I'm thinking about getting
I’m glad you are enjoying them, the Guerrilla is a great bike. If you have any questions, then please feel free to just ask away. Meanwhile, I hope you watch the older vids, and stick around for new ones too 😊 Cheers
Скоро вас заменят мигрантами и англичанина не станет на вашей земле, а вы все в игрушки играете. Вам вилы нужно покупать а не мотоциклы.
ACF50 on the spokes and brake fittings etc. I can name lots of popular makes that have these poor platings sadly
Sadly you are correct.
Nice review Ian! Certainly appears like a big bike, sounds alright as well.
Thanks Sean, exhaust could sound better 😉
Nice. Thanks for the review. This is exactly the style the J-series shall be driven- no rush, just relaxed ride wthin speed limits.
Looks very much like my next one...
I am sure you will enjoy it immensely 🤗 thank you
Enjoyable review that. Good work. Thanks.
Thank you. There is a “revisited” ride where I purposely try to find those vibes people were reporting. 😉
Excellent ride ian, the roads were lovely mate
Thanks again Sean, hopefully you will have a look through the other vids on my channel, we do visit some great places. Cheers
Just found you, great ride ian, I have a bandit outside covered up, I've lost my mojo at moment , watching you, hopefully will get me back on it, thanks ian
Thanks for looking in Sean, hopefully you will get back out on the Bandit in the Spring. I had a 1200 Mk1 Bandit a good few years ago. Had it painted by Dream Machine in Alstare Corona (Franki Chilli) colours. Looked bloody awesome ! All the best.
I ran it in at 5k rpm where it seemed much happier. After I did the oil change I'm taking it to 6500 for a thousand miles. It really comes alive at those revs👍
Fair enough, I find up to 6k, playing on the revs is a hoot 😎
Hi there, I've had bikes with the same problem that you have with the spoke corrosion. I found that if you use oiled wire wool on them to remove the canker, whipe them dry and then apply ACF-50 with a cloth. This for me has worked fine and tends to last as well. Regards Ian
Ooo, now that sounds like a plan. Thank you, I will definitely try that. 😊
The question about which bike you would keep, makes me think that you will be getting a new kitchen soon! 😂😂
🤣🤣 not a chance
Belated Happy New Year and congrats on your Taym ranking, Ian; well deserved! 👍 Re the MPG, I reckon that you're doing ok, given the way that you like to ride. Back in the early '60's my Jawa 250 single used to get about 65 mpg on the 75-mile run to my military base, though I didn't hammer it, as it was my sole means of transport. I'd cruise at around 60 mph down the A423.
Thanks Chris, and all the very best to you too. Yes, the TAYM poll result really did take us by surprise, especially being quite a small niche. As for the mog, I don’t think it was a fair average, needed to have done more miles to get a proper idea, so will try and remember to check on it on future rides. Cheers
I thoroughly enjoyed that ride with you.
Thank you, it’s a great bike. Ownership is very rewarding……..smiles per mile are priceless 😎
Can't see my bike for blankets and clothes 😂 all the best 👍
😂 Scorpio is current tucked up in the back of the van ☺️
Enjoy your vids, keep up the good work, your Guerilla looks very interesting, making me think, not planning to change my Classic but 😈! Enjoy your time in Wales, I'm sure you will>
Thank you, pleased you enjoy the content. I am fortunate enough to have the best of both worlds, with the Guerrilla and Classic in the stable 😎. I would recommend taking a Guerrilla out for a spin 😉, but I would say that 😂😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfield Thanks for reply. Unfortunately as my name implies I am getting on a bit and dealers insurance won't cover me for test rides, bought classic without a test. Turned out good happily. As long as I can comfortably reach the floor I'm ok. Is the seat height on the Guerilla similar to the Classic? 🤞🤞
Surprisingly, the seat height on the Guerrilla is about 25mm lower than the Classic 350. I have a 30” inside leg, and can easily flat foot, with a slight bend in the knee.
@@ianhughesroyalenfieldThanks. Good news, I think, 🤔
When i get home after a rid,i always thank the Lord for his kindness. There are some Blood Clots out there who don't try and kill you on purpose, but have a good go!
🤣 so true.
It’s a bike I’m definitely interested in. Can’t find a review from anyone who has tried out the navigation that links to Google maps
I haven’t bothered trying to connect my phone to it, as I often find myself in areas without little or no mobile internet, hence the Garmin Zumo XT. Also Google Pixel phones (I have a 7a), are known to not want to link with the dash.
It's an A-pillar issue plus laziness, as drivers refuse to move in their seat for a better view. To prove this to myself, I went to a local right hand bend whose radius eliminates all the oncoming traffic from entry to exit. Unless you move your head forward, you wouldn't know you'd approached 5 or 6 cars until they're alongside, never mind a motorbike. I've sounded my horn on too many corner cutters who are shocked there's anyone in front of them.
I do accept there could be a blind spot on his car, but if he had driven properly, he would have seen me. Instead, as you say, laziness, and a poor decision kicked in, when he decided to just look left, pull out, cutting the corner. Definitely a knob head 😂.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you Ann and Pip, Cadair Idris would be nice on a clear day, just saying. Cheers, DINO, PANDA, and Med Mutts.
Hi Dino, all the best to you, Panda and the gang 🎉. Cadair is a bit far from the cottage, will leave that for October 😉. Mind you, it wasn’t bad on that day I did it on Clementine. There are a couple of good suggestions coming in 😎. Cheers
