    Bringing back all those memories of when I worked north Wales and especially Snowdonia but fortunately when i travelled those roads there were no woke politicians deciding that 20 mph was sensible. Have a good Christmas Ian and thanks for taking us along with you, much appreciated.

      So pleased to bring back some happy (hopefully) memories for you Ian. I get your drift regarding woke councils/governments 🤬. So pleased you enjoyed it, thanks for your continued support. All the best.

    Cracking ride that Ian, with most of the roads to yourself,and Scorpio's eating them up , brilliant! I've camped at Beddgelert a couple of times on the Dragon rally near the copper mine .
    Best wishes to you and the family,
    Cheers, Mel 🍻

    Brilliant Ian. I thoroughly enjoyed that and I’m familiar with those fantastic roads and so it was great that you could ride them with minimal traffic on them - one of the few advantages of riding at this time of year. Love the bike and it’s got me thinking about a possible replacement for my Suzuki. A Guerilla would make a fine bike especially during the off season to allow my Interceptor to be kept tucked up in bed in the garage 🤣

    Thanks for the memories and the ride, Ian. You mentioned Blaenau; I went round the old slate mine there, back in '86. Piles of slate slag lined the roads in the village back then; do you know if it's still the same?

    @MsDenver2 24 дня назад

    Yes I’ve been on that railway lovely little train ride , I want to try and go on the Snowden’s railway, walked up Snowden a few times but never on the train. Nice corners on that road. Does your traffic warning go off once you’ve past the works?

      Oo, it might well do Donna, never thought of that 🤔. Anyway, I have now disabled it, so it won’t annoy me by being there 😂

    Another great video Ian, thank you. Can I pick your brains for a moment? I’m looking to get myself a a small capacity machine for back road scratching and maybe a little tour now and again. Can’t decide between the Classic 350 and the Guerrilla 450. You having owned both, in your opinion which would be the better all round option? There are obviously pros and cons with each bike, but be good to get your views.
    Furthermore have a great Christmas. I’m sure you’ll be raising a glass to your Dad. Warmest wishes.

    Merry Christmas to you and your family have you had any issues with the side stand nnn

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  20 дней назад

      Morning Chris. No issues with anything, and definitely not the side stand….have you heard of any issues regarding this ? I watched a review whereby someone mentioned the bike leaned over too far, but it’s perfectly fine as far as I am concerned. Nothing like the Himi 450…..which does, and feels quite a maul to pick it up. Hope this helps. Have you taken delivery of yours yet ?

      @ianhughesroyalenfield  20 дней назад

      Oh no, so sorry to hear that Chris 😢. I couldn’t even describe what I do regarding the side stand, just use as normal, always flicks down without issue. Now it’s in my head, I will be checking…..all the best.

    Hi Ian
    How do you find the suspension on bumpy B roads compared to your other bikes?

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  24 дня назад +1

      The suspension is firm, no doubting that, but it’s not uncomfortably so, well at least for me. All day comfort, the seat helps with that too. The Classic 350 is definitely a bit softer on the bumps, but the Guerrilla is better than the Interceptor was. Hope this helps.

      @rowland5442 24 дня назад

      @ Thanks Ian, just thinking about it now though, given the great value for money that the Guerrilla is you could buy one ride it over to somewhere like Maxton and end up with a 6k bike with great brakes, great engine and a bespoke suspension set up!😀
      Where else could you get that for the price?🤔

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  24 дня назад +1

      Ooo, hmmm, well for B road “scatching”, definitely the Guerrilla, and for longer rides too….but….if not in a hurry then the Classic 350, which is also easier to ride on the slow, gnarly unclassified roads due to the torque. Does that help ? Fire anymore questions, I’ll try and answer them. Yes, will be thinking of dad over Christmas, he did like this time of year. All the best.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  24 дня назад +1

      Yes definitely……but with the front forks being Showa, no doubt someone will come up with slightly improved springs, though it doesn’t need much. As for the back, then yes, maybe a Nitron, or YSS unit. The original is on its softest setting out of the factory, and I certainly wouldn’t want it any firmer. Maybe a little bit more compliant 🤔, but for me, as it handles so good, I would just leave well alone………bloody fantastic bike 😎 Cheers

    What a blast! Lovely part of the world.
    Shame they killed off tourism with their 20mph speed limits.
    At least I was able to travel round those parts when things were normal many years ago.
