I still have the Vstrom1000 and the Himalayan 411 and not selling any of them. The Interceptor is that lovely inbetween bike. It's my choice to own three bikes and I'm happy with that!
Good for you Sandy, none of us know what's round the corner or how long we will continue in the saddle of a bike. That's not being morbid or negative but make the most of your motorcycling whilst you can.🙂👍
@WiltshireMan Sorry Sandy if I came across as having a dig. I meant with how you enjoyed the raw of old school biking that the interceptor would be your bike of choice.
@@trucker9462 Thanks Trucker, All three bikes I have are quite different, love them all for their individual characteristics, second hand value's are poor so I'll just keep em:)
Good to see you enjoying the bike you have treated yourself to as a late birthday present 🎁. I think that ALL of us motorcyclists can remember the excitement of getting our first bike and the sense of freedom that came with it. 😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Colin, I am loving the very back to basics nature of the Interceptor, It's very close to how an old British twin would ride but hopefully a bit more reliable. This bike is 4 years old, actually nearer to 5 but it has only covered 1200 miles. Almost like brand new :)
Good for you sir, what a nice machine, i hope you have many thousands of enjoyable miles on her, it's ok to be excited, i know i would be. Like you, when i was 16 & got my first bike, a 305 honda super hawk, i couldn't leave her alone, a proper high, i bought a new to me bike a couple of yrs ago & at 74, i have to say the excitement is still there & i love to go out every possible chance i can, ( totally weather dependant ) , what fun is motorcycling. Enjoy sir, stay warm, ric, ontario canada, first snow in my neighbourhood yesterday, am already eagerly anticipating the return of warmer weather, bye now.
Congratulations Sandy with your new bike🤝🏻 I am sure you are going to enjoy riding her...be safe and thanks for taking us along to collect your new iron horse🤗👌🏻🥂
Hi Sandy. Hope my old bike gives you as much pleasure as it gave me. I recognised it straight away ! Brembo stickers on the calipers, Triumph fork protectors, knee pads and also my old exhaust 2into1 system. (Original system was part of my trade in) Should have a hitchcocks oil cooler guard on it as well. Really hope it serves you well. Take care all the best Tim😊
@@timlong1174 I think you'll be pleased with the new Himalayan. I test rode one a few weeks ago but still have my old Himalayan 411 which I have decided to keep. Lovely bike i know what you mean about not having as much excitement as you had as a youngster, but i do think part of it comes back when you get the bike home and you cannot stop looking at it, Cheers Baz
Standard style bikes have always been on my favorites list. The comfortable seat and handle bar position make them a joy to ride. I had a 1981 Kawasaki GPZ 550 when I was in the Air Force. It was fun to ride. Did a lot of miles and was cheap on gas. Enjoy the new bike Sandy, Good memories, made easy.
Thanks Jim, I am fortunate to have 3 lovely motorcycle now, I can't see me getting a fourth as there is no more room in my garage. Of all the bikes the most aesthetically pleasing is the Interceptor, it reminds me of how bikes looked back in the 60's and 70's. I shall use it for most of the local rides where I don't mind the lack of a screen, it will be a joy to experience the freedom of raw motorcycling, but if I have a long journey then it will be on the Vstrom or Himalayan.
Own 2019 Interceptor. Brilliant bike. Bought it second hand 2 years ago with 2,800 on the clock and now has nearly 15k miles. Put Enfield stainless silencers on it from Hitchcocks in the midlands. A fly screen, crash bars, touring seat and sump guard. The bike has great lines.

I got my Interceptor from BikeTreads earlier this year and have done just over 1800 miles so far. A great bike for wandering around the Wiltshire lanes, may see you out and about one day, take care, and enjoy...
Love my 2022, 20,700 miles with GIVI side cases. It's my commuter, smaller grocery run, and ride to hike companion. Valve checks are relatively simple, as are oil changes and chain maintenance. Great to have center stand. Ride 32 to 119 degrees here in Phoenix, AZ. The shop did a fantastic job polishing it up for you! Looks amazing. Enjoy your great find :)
Love the look of the interceptor. Very cool looking and sounds very satisfying. Congrats Sandy, you deserve to own three bikes . Thanks for sharing. Tony.
The exhaust sound just gets better and better, Sandy! It sounds like a great buy. The wind noise was fine - realistic but easy to hear your voice - good balance - you've got a good setup.
Congratulation, beautiful bike and a good partner for the Himi. I also have these two but the place of the VStrom in your garage takes a big seventies airhead BMWin mine. Have a lot of fun with your new baby.
