I still have the Vstrom1000 and the Himalayan 411 and not selling any of them. The Interceptor is that lovely inbetween bike. It's my choice to own three bikes and I'm happy with that!
Good for you Sandy, none of us know what's round the corner or how long we will continue in the saddle of a bike. That's not being morbid or negative but make the most of your motorcycling whilst you can.🙂👍
@WiltshireMan Sorry Sandy if I came across as having a dig. I meant with how you enjoyed the raw of old school biking that the interceptor would be your bike of choice.
@@trucker9462 Thanks Trucker, All three bikes I have are quite different, love them all for their individual characteristics, second hand value's are poor so I'll just keep em:)
Hi Sandy. Hope my old bike gives you as much pleasure as it gave me. I recognised it straight away ! Brembo stickers on the calipers, Triumph fork protectors, knee pads and also my old exhaust 2into1 system. (Original system was part of my trade in) Should have a hitchcocks oil cooler guard on it as well. Really hope it serves you well. Take care all the best Tim😊
@@timlong1174 I think you'll be pleased with the new Himalayan. I test rode one a few weeks ago but still have my old Himalayan 411 which I have decided to keep. Your old Interceptor is Lovely Tim, I have washed it and dried it and put it away, it will only be coming out when the weather is nice. The Himalayan is my Winter bike and general work horse.
Good for you sir, what a nice machine, i hope you have many thousands of enjoyable miles on her, it's ok to be excited, i know i would be. Like you, when i was 16 & got my first bike, a 305 honda super hawk, i couldn't leave her alone, a proper high, i bought a new to me bike a couple of yrs ago & at 74, i have to say the excitement is still there & i love to go out every possible chance i can, ( totally weather dependant ) , what fun is motorcycling. Enjoy sir, stay warm, ric, ontario canada, first snow in my neighbourhood yesterday, am already eagerly anticipating the return of warmer weather, bye now.
Good to see you enjoying the bike you have treated yourself to as a late birthday present 🎁. I think that ALL of us motorcyclists can remember the excitement of getting our first bike and the sense of freedom that came with it. 😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Colin, I am loving the very back to basics nature of the Interceptor, It's very close to how an old British twin would ride but hopefully a bit more reliable. This bike is 4 years old, actually nearer to 5 but it has only covered 1200 miles. Almost like brand new :)
Congratulations Sandy with your new bike🤝🏻 I am sure you are going to enjoy riding her...be safe and thanks for taking us along to collect your new iron horse🤗👌🏻🥂
Lovely bike i know what you mean about not having as much excitement as you had as a youngster, but i do think part of it comes back when you get the bike home and you cannot stop looking at it, Cheers Baz
Nice to see you and your new bike 🏍 and your friend at the bike shop hope all is well and your Mandy getting back on her feet but stay safe and stay healthy one life enjoy blessed be
Love my 2022, 20,700 miles with GIVI side cases. It's my commuter, smaller grocery run, and ride to hike companion. Valve checks are relatively simple, as are oil changes and chain maintenance. Great to have center stand. Ride 32 to 119 degrees here in Phoenix, AZ. The shop did a fantastic job polishing it up for you! Looks amazing. Enjoy your great find :)
👍👍👍Congratulations Sandy, what a fine looking bike 👍👍👍. You and Dickie are like kids in a toy shop both gravitating to the coffee machine for your favourite brew and Dickie testing out his new camera handle and zeroing in on the faces of the motorshop employees lol. Stay safe and well. Judy🇨🇦🇨🇦
Own 2019 Interceptor. Brilliant bike. Bought it second hand 2 years ago with 2,800 on the clock and now has nearly 15k miles. Put Enfield stainless silencers on it from Hitchcocks in the midlands. A fly screen, crash bars, touring seat and sump guard. The bike has great lines.

I got my Interceptor from BikeTreads earlier this year and have done just over 1800 miles so far. A great bike for wandering around the Wiltshire lanes, may see you out and about one day, take care, and enjoy...
Lovely bike Sandy. Sounded great when you pulled off the lights. I think i only just got excited about mine after 4 months of having it. Lol, When i open the garage i do smile 😁
Congrats, Sandy! Very nice old school basic bike. Noraly Schoenmaker (Itchy Boots) recently bought an old school bike for her road trip adventures. Enjoy your new bike Sandy and stay safe. Cheers!
Nice one sandy, glad the handover went smoothly and you like the bike. I know nothing about motorcycles but that engine sounds like it’s purring like a kitten 👍♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍👍
Hi Sandy. Good choice. If you think about it Phil’s interceptor has enough gumption to drag a sidecar around, so solo it’s plenty! I love riding his and I keep getting tempted to take the chair off and have a ride one weekend ( don’t tell him though 🤫😅) For now I’ll stick with me Africa Twin though! 👍
Love the look of the interceptor. Very cool looking and sounds very satisfying. Congrats Sandy, you deserve to own three bikes . Thanks for sharing. Tony.
Congratulations on your new bike, i'm sure you will enjoy it. I would love one also plus a new Himalayan but can't see that happening my best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️💪👍😉😄😁🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
The exhaust sound just gets better and better, Sandy! It sounds like a great buy. The wind noise was fine - realistic but easy to hear your voice - good balance - you've got a good setup.
Standard style bikes have always been on my favorites list. The comfortable seat and handle bar position make them a joy to ride. I had a 1981 Kawasaki GPZ 550 when I was in the Air Force. It was fun to ride. Did a lot of miles and was cheap on gas. Enjoy the new bike Sandy, Good memories, made easy.
Thanks Jim, I am fortunate to have 3 lovely motorcycle now, I can't see me getting a fourth as there is no more room in my garage. Of all the bikes the most aesthetically pleasing is the Interceptor, it reminds me of how bikes looked back in the 60's and 70's. I shall use it for most of the local rides where I don't mind the lack of a screen, it will be a joy to experience the freedom of raw motorcycling, but if I have a long journey then it will be on the Vstrom or Himalayan.
Lovely bike, new bike day rocks. I like your millionaire road, we have a murder mile round here, it's a mile + long, very open to elements and old Bob used to say it was murder walking his dog there. My friend takes his v8 cars down there to test things! Ha ha
Great machine Sandy. Old School is exactly right and much the better for it. That two into one exhaust sounds really splendid. A bike for sunny days. Enjoy
Congrads,Sandy! Nice bike! That twin, much smoother than a thumper. Many miles of riding pleasure. Millionaire's row? More like multi-millionaire's row. Cheers!
Beautiful purchase that, a cracking looking bike, runs well and sounds nice too. Naked riding on a Contraceptor in this weather could get a chap into trouble though 😂 Here's to many happy miles of riding pleasure 👍👍
Nice!!! Enjoy your adventures my friend and safe travels!! I’ve still got my little herald classic 125 that I’m not using enough! Only done 509 miles since I bought it in 2020! Congratulation, beautiful bike and a good partner for the Himi. I also have these two but the place of the VStrom in your garage takes a big seventies airhead BMWin mine. Have a lot of fun with your new baby.
Excellent choice, congratulations 🎉❤. I have recently come back to motorcycling after many years having passed my test back in 1986. I have just retired and in a moment of madness, mentioned to a mate I was thinking of getting back on a motorcycle. He asked me if I was serious as he had two bikes and would let me have his Interceptor at mates rates. The bike is a 2020 but only had 1400 miles on the clock with full service history, I just couldn't say no😊😊. It is factory stock with only one upgrade, the touring seat. The Royal Enfield Interceptor is a modern classic built on a tried and trusted 650cc (47bhp) engine. Although mine is factory stock, I love the sound of the stock pipes, if a wee bit on the heavy side, 15kg each😮, but they are built to hopefully last for many years with some basic cleaning. I have read some comments about the lack of power but in my experience, and at the ripe old age of 64, the power and it's smooth delivery is excellent. I have cruised very happily on motorways and when I need a squirt of power, not a problem, in fact I caught myself recently at 90 and still had more. This beautiful machine is not built as a rocket ship, but more about old school motorcycling and smooth riding, while at the same time bringing a smile to the riders face and approving looks from other road users ❤. Great choice Sir, and my best hopes and wishes for your future adventures riding this lovely motorcycle 🙏🙏👍👍
I do love the bike episodes, both pedal power or engine. I could watch your videos all day Sandy, always such a pleasure. My 2025 plan is to get my bike license and buy a Himalayan myself. Thank you for all your videos, they have been my source of getting out and about when I haven't been able to do so.

I am really looking forward to its future adventures with you. I can easily see that bike becoming your most used motorcycle of all. Thanks for allowing us to experience your first ride on it. We are privileged to share this with you. Enjoy yourself! Take care and I will see you on the next one
Great to see that you’re feeling better and enjoying your early Christmas present to yourself. I know nothing about motorbikes but it looks great and has a lovely purring sound. I look forward to seeing your further adventures with it in the months to come. Hope you’ve got a heated garage for it!😊

Congrats on the new bike. It's nice you were able to find such a nice bike and at a discount too. Win/win. Enjoy. The only bad part is having to wait for warm days to ride!
Lovely machine. Enjoy and ride safe ! ( a 350 classic and (now 34 year old BMW sidecar) rider ). And I love Your philosophy about excitement . As one gets older and has known quite a bunch of bikes ... and survived quite a couple of years aswell ... you live more in the moment. I am thankful for every nice hour without worrying too much and the fun of still being able to ride these lovely machines.
Oh how exciting glad you had a new bike 😊 nice clocks aswell. The good thing is some one else has run it in so you can just enjoy, love the colour you choose, happy riding 👍🏍️

All we ever really have is this one small moment, the eternal NOW:)
As an interceptor owner myself I'm looking forward to your future videos with your new bike. Congratulations on the new machine!
4 years old wow ,its beautifull .
Oh how exciting glad you had a new bike 😊 nice clocks aswell. The good thing is some one else has run it in so you can just enjoy, love the colour you choose, happy riding 👍🏍️
I hope they did a good job of running it in, I think so, it purrs like a kitten:)
