Best truck I ever had!! I had the SR5 1985 & a 1/2 black 4 wheel drive, long bed-only which was way more sleeker and nicer looking then the Xtra cabs IMO. I had a special order chrome with sliding back window, and a sunroof… had the little SR5 all over the seats I remember. I love that truck… so sad I ever gave it up but I was young and dumb then… who would have known it would have been such a classic now?

I sure miss mine! I was 18 when I got my brand new 1985 & a 1/2 -4X4 SR5 four wheel drive, Black, chrome all the way around special order, sunroof and sliding back window, (the standard SR5’s didn’t have the extra features then…my Son’s father wanted me to have my own so I didn’t always want to drive his. I remember we both had good jobs good credit and back then you could get anything with a few hundred bucks to a grand down on a vehicle. (lol). But yeah, we were I love with Toyota’s then… & had a new gold Toyota Corolla but I wanted the truck so bad… we had found a special order someone didn’t want at a dealership that only had the one ☝🏻 on the lot! We knew we hit the jackpot… we had to come up with a little more money then to get this one/ (my Son’s father was a lot older than me by 12 years) but were great together.. loved all the same things in life.. (rip Craig) . The one thing I loved about my truck it didn’t have the xtra cab… it was a sleek long bed/ had that sexy look to it-pin stripes down the side saying SR5 & also had SR5 inside on the seats too… this was the two seater. It was a one of a kind. Unfortunately I ended up having to give it up.. was an awful year. My dad died of cancer, I had got pregnant with my Son and couldn’t work the job I was working anymore due to high risk of miscarriage bc the job was very physical… (thinking back now I believe I would have been okay) I have always been healthy and in good shape…
I will always miss that truck!! Sad to hear that they can’t be found anywhere?
My family on my dad’s side invented a right hand drive car (started out motorcycles) The Skoda Car which is Czechoslovakian/Bohemian and today that car is better than the BMW is what my Aunt has told me. Pretty exciting to find this out about my ancestry on dad’s mom’s side.. My grandma was Irene Skoda. I never knew all that but today they still own the Skoda Car. Wish there was a left hand US version of the vehicle.. lol! I could more than likely get a nice one for a little discount ? 🤫😅 but…. Nothing will EVER replace my 1985 SR5-4 wheel drive, black long bed 🛻 truck with all special features. I think the feature Craig loved the best about mine over his was the chrome and the sliding back window. I had the sunroof too! That truck was magic! So sad 😭 I gave it up… but that’s life. We have to always go on and make new dreams but kinda kool to remember the good 👍🏼 times we had too! Thanks for reading my story~ Suzanne (age 54)
