- I think this video took me 12 years to edit so ALAS....it is done and in your hands lol but seriously this week I show you the not so great part about being a TV news reporter or working in the business in general. I really really hope you guys don't see this as me just complaining or being ungrateful. I just wanted to keep it real and show you that no, it's not all sunshines and rainbows. (Thumbs up for keepin' it real!)

Hellloooo! My name is Clancy and I'm a 24 year-old TV news reporter. I'm originally from Long Island, NY but I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where I work for the CBS affiliate, Local 12. Livin' the dream. :)

It’s so funny bc I work at a hospital in Cincinnati, and I go in at 4 for my shift and when I’m in patients rooms drawing blood Clancy is always on TV hahaha

Sometimes I think I want another job or should have gone into a different field but I don’t know if anything will ever beat the teacher schedule. Even though I do put up with a lot, I love having holidays and summers off. Your work ethic and attitude are so inspiring. Hope you had a great thanksgiving!

@@kirahonson5440 a lot of teachers do work a summer job or summer school. Or you can have your paycheck spread over 12 months.

@@obeyahayah9013 not all teachers can have their paycheck spread though. I teach in New Jersey and most districts here do not offer that option. But, yeah, most teachers I know do Summer School or work part time in the summer if they need a break from the school environment.

Thanks for sharing this Clancy! I work in radio and while not the same, I can relate to some of the struggles of broadcast journalism. It doesn't always glitter in gold, but i wish you the best! I wish more people out there could understand the life of journalists like yourself.

I work as a night shift nurse in a hospital.. I 100% agree with what you say about sometimes wondering what it’s like to live the normal schedule or be off holidays. We picked it, we love it, but doesn’t mean it’s all sparkles all the time.

Ahhhh Clancy I totally feel you!! I'm working in the hospitality industry while in college and definitely dont get the holidays off unless I'm lucky. I'm also looking into being an air traffic controller specialist and it's basically known you wont be getting those holidays off until you're a veteran. I like how positive you are about it, gonna try to look at it that way too!! :)
My hair is just like yours and I’ve found that dry shampoo dirties it up just enough to make it hold a style and give it volume. I really like Batiste and any of the Dove ones.

I feel the exact way about working holidays!! I work for an airline in Australia and airlines don’t just stop because it’s holidays (same as the news). I get what you mean when you said about it being a bit “ugh” and wondering what it’d be like to not be working. It just sucks a little, that missing out feeling.

honestly, I like these kind of videos where I see the good and the bad. Im seriously considering going to school to be a reporter, and I like being able to see the good as well as the bad sides of the job :)

My one cousin goes to the University of Cincinnati I think Once I had to miss Christmas where I worked, it was a little hard, but they did let us eat a Christmas meal at break. I was in Dayton for Thanksgiving.

I work on the nights weekends and its sometimes hard because it opposite of most of the people that I know...but there is nothing like Monday when I have off and everyone seems to be going back to work...and for you...early afternoon is someone's 5pm I suppose!
Can you do a video on your tried and true favorite products? Like anything from food to beauty cleaning detergent...it would be great and a money saver too!
On another note; I don't even do News Reporting or anything close to that (in my last year of university of Primary Teaching) but I watch your videos to motivate me when I need to have work done because seeing someone be in a job their passionate about reminds me why I am at uni etc

Thanksgiving was my dad's birthday and he died in June...after my stepdad passing in April, mother in law in January and baby in October 2018. So November 1st my husband and I put up all the Christmas decorations in hopes we could find some holiday cheer! It totally worked! Merry Christmas everybody :) Thanks for being a positive light. There is always a reason to be thankful!
