I could listen to Fred talk all day, says what he thinks and talks no bs. Nissan finally came up with a package that was far superior to anything seen before and credit to them. The guy is a true racer, mentor and manager, shame they don’t make them like him anymore.
Skaife made a bit of a blunder there, the 4 wheel steer was disabled on the race cars. and they should have been disqualified at Bathurst in 1991 because they ran a front spoiler that wasnt yet homologated, it was homolgated the day after Bathurst. Win Percy noticed it but did not want to be seen as another annoying Brit and did not protest
The aero was homologated from day one. Group A could only run the bodywork as sold on the road car. You can see this in the homologation papers. There are no alternative wings or spoilers. What there is though are alternative brake ducts. Perhaps this is what he noticed?

Great team and cars.
When the development work was sorted it eventually led to the R32 being so sucessfull in Group A that it was banned from competing.
1992 the last time the turbos raced, the Sierra got pole with the fastest top ten time a second faster than the R32. Happy days!
To do this the GT-R's had to be hobbled with extra weight and boost limits. In spite of this, they still won the championship.
Fred Gibson was said the extra weight gave the car more grip and the boost limit improved the reliability
Victory was short lived for this car
Bs
wdym its still laying down records till this day.
Yeah because they banned it lol

Rear Driveshaft Failure .... unlucky ...
I want to give challenge for this car against another great touring car. like DTM or GT3 Porsche 911. So who would win ?
