- The former CFO of PMPED, the law firm Alex Murdaugh was formerly involved with, detailed how the disgraced lawyer manipulated his clients for financial gain. “He did it through the art of bullsh*t,” Jeannie Seckinger said describing how Murdaugh was able to allegedly pilfer millions of dollars while working at the PMPED law firm.

I'm learning a lot about our legal system. These lawyers rip off both their clients and companies. And they have set up the system so that we can't navigate it without them.

Well clients need to make sure what the lawyer settles for especially in personal injury/ death etc cases as well as make sure they ONLY take just their percentage.

The murders are connected to this law firm business of stealing money from people.

What's mind boggling is we grew up with this family. They're self centered, rich, and their kids were spoiled brats! The kids knew their"daddy" would get them out of any trouble they got in. In corporate law this is even MORE true. Employees are afraid to use their company cards for business expenses. Audits are a regular occurrence. I just can't understand how no one at PMPED noticed AM's wild theft for over A DECADE!! And a paralegal figured it out when the CFO & Partners were cluless??? I don't buy it.

Jean was one of the heroes of this whole thing and a terrific witness; sharp, truthful and really good at observation. Her and Annette served the hot oil over the castle wall onto Alec. Their tenacity exposed it all.

Normal ppl- my wife and son have been shot by someone send an ambulance and police immediately. They won't introduce themselves and tell them where they live. Unknowingly you will prioritize importance in your brain. Someone who is genuine will tell the operator the emergency first. Not info about them. There was a study done on hundreds of 911 emergency calls and 97% started the call with what the emergency is. That's the first question you are asked, "this is 911 what's your emergency" it's not "911 what's your name, what's your address and then tell me the emergency." He's guilty.

Paul’s case had no bearing on Buster’s issue with his re-entry into law school. Buster was accessed and dismissed from law school for plagiarism, had nothing to do with Paul.

Alex's house of cards would not be tumbling down had his son Paul not been driving his boat drunk that night! The prosecution has the motive wrong. It's really about his anger at his son Paul for being the ultimate demise of the family fortune, and soon-to-be discovery of Alex's financial crimes. He had a whole lot to be mad at his son over. Maggie was just collateral damage.

@@janicemullins5516 Shelly Smith the caregiver to AM’s mom that he TOLD to lie and say he was there for 30 to 40 minutes vs the 20 he was there. She was so bothered by it that she immediately called her POLICE CHIEF brother to talk to him about it because it “made her scared” (or nervous, one of the 2) and there was ZERO follow up on it. They buried it in the “tarp vs rain coat” bs. This Prosecution is so focused on the motive/financial aspect that they are dropping the ball, BIG TIME. This is a murder trial, not fraud/theft/embezzlement.

He earned a lot, stole even more from friends, family, clients & business. He was born into it, didn't pay the bank notes, potentially killed for it, plus much much more greedy behavior. He couldn't have used that much money supporting his alleged opiate addiction, no overdoses, no arrests, no noted decline in his appearance or business practices or performance. Where did all the money go?
The money was spent on private, high stakes gambling…he was a regular user of meth but was not addicted…no doubt he used opioids but only when he overindulged on the first item and/or because he was in a losing streak…He only cried addiction as an excuse for stealing money. He soft balled it with prescription drug use because gambling isn’t as sympathetic. He could pull off addiction because he was a user. And Rehab was a bonus because he could lay low for a while

You have to consider the culture of the firm. Also, she cant audit her own books and even if she brought an auditor to look at their books im sure Alex wouldve derailed it & wouldve never let it happened. It’s more nuanced than you think.
