@Josh Wallace my aoc 24g2 is the version with extra speakers and a usb hub... didnt cost more. it is an okay extra, yeah the speakers are shit, but they are an extra
built in speakers are something I appreciate, since I always use headphones and don't want a set of speakers cluttering things. ELMB @ 240/270Hz might've interesting to test, given ELMB locks the OD @ 80 and seemingly anything below 200Hz in this case has noticeable overshoot with this model, hence why I guess the 144Hz here has the inverse ghosting and crosstalk. For whatever reason, the 280Hz ELMB not much clearer than the 280Hz with OD 80/ 140HZ ELMB seems a bit clearer overall, safe for the artefacts. This makes me wonder whether 240/270Hz might've yielded a better result. Sadly, with fixed refreshes 165, 180 and 200 are not options. Unless you're using VRR + FPS Limiter or something.
@6:50 Sorry for the noob question.. Would appreciate if someone could help.. You mentioned left with 2 settings OD 80 best at higher refresh rates and OD40 at lower refresh rates. Does it mean I should turn off G sync and use OD80? I purchased this mainly for CSGO and get more than 300fps in that game (other games fps range vary of course).. What would you recommend the best settings for CSGO in terms of response time? Should i keep gsync off or on? with OD 80?
how about the asus VG35VQ? 35” ultrawide VA panel with elmb sync at 100hz. not gonna be able to afford it anytime soon at $579 but I’d like to know how it performs anyway, just in case
The main thing that bothers me about the G7 models is the 1000r curve. I can see it working well with the G9 ultrawide, but it just seems excessive for a 16:9 panel, the 32" might be better, but it's just not needed on a 27". I changed from a curved Samsung VA panel to the LG 27gl850 a while ago and I think I prefer the flat panel over the curved Samsung (the panel tech itself is hands down better, the flat vs curved thing is a bit more subjective) I'd be interested to see how it works out though, if it can genuinely compete with top end IPS panels in terms of response times then it could be quite good, my LG doesn't deal with blacks as well as my old VA Samsung did, that's about the only thing I miss.
I'm also keen to see this reviewed and compared to the 240hz ips monitors out there like Alienware AW2521HF as those two are currently what I'm tossing up against.
08:38 are you Means Ovedrive 80 and not 40? right or maybe iam not understand corectly because on your chart OD 40 have more response time ms then OD 80

Things I'd like to see in monitors: Now: - More Gsync or other scalers that offer variable overdrive - Profiles per input - VESA support on everything - Making sure all the inputs can offer full performance - USB hubs with faster USB specifications Stretch: - OLED, Mini and Micro LED - HDR, as in 1000+ HDR. At consumer price points - Better out of the box calibration for all monitors, not just pro - The ability to flash calibration to the monitor instead of the system being used (perhaps a standard can be created to facilitate this across all brands)

What is the resolution? And if its 1080p Is it blurry or not clear?
@@astroyt7389 27" 2560x1440p 165hz. Was on 1080p 60hz since forever and decided to finally upgrade. One thing I'll say is that at first you don't really notice the difference until you go back and try a 1080p 60hz are are just like "EWWW I didn't know this was THAT bad"- could never go back. Soo smooth, crisp, and great for gaming. The resolution is nice, but the real star is that refresh rate and ELMBsync omg, you actually see the frames your graphics card is able to pump out.
When it's 1080 its still super clear! I use this resolution when playing online and it's been great
@@indyvidual3917 thanks for that it helps alot, now I am just deciding between the:

@@astroyt7389 I have this VG279QM, and to be honest if u playing games/watching movies/videos on youtube its not that bad for 1080p with 27" but for other things, yeah its quite blurry for my eyes xD. Please make a review of the Acer NITRO VG252QX 240hz IPS monitor, it looks like a really interesting budget option especially considering it's 1080p at 25". :)
hey. i dunno if you will read this. i just bought the asus vg249qm1a it should be close to the vg259qm. is this true? like the vg259qm is slightly brighter and the 10hz more when oc thats all i can find (and the vg259qm should be the smaller version of the vg279qm). the 1a at the end of the model name should just be the non adjustable stand. like there are close to zero reviews on the vg249qm1a its incredible xD and im confused if i can take the 259qm and 279qm reviews for reference. would be very nice if you can tell me the difference between the vg249qm1a and the vg259qm/vg279qm. ty in advance
ELMB @ 240/270Hz might've interesting to test, given ELMB locks the OD @ 80 and seemingly anything below 200Hz in this case has noticeable overshoot with this model, hence why I guess the 144Hz here has the inverse ghosting and crosstalk.
For whatever reason, the 280Hz ELMB not much clearer than the 280Hz with OD 80/
140HZ ELMB seems a bit clearer overall, safe for the artefacts.
Should i keep gsync off or on? with OD 80?
Same question
I would love to see a side by side comparison of the Asus VG279QM and the BenQ ZOWIE XL2546 for motion blur and features etc. Cheers!
@Hardware Unboxed should I consider the smaller version of this monitor VG259QM or the MAG251RX if I am primarily interested in CSGO/LoL?
Great review. I would love your opinion on the alienware 2521HF(L) 240hz IPS.
how about the asus VG35VQ? 35” ultrawide VA panel with elmb sync at 100hz.
not gonna be able to afford it anytime soon at $579 but I’d like to know how it performs anyway, just in case
I'm excited for the Samsung Odyssey G7 27", it's specs are great but we'll see how it reviews.
When are they coming? 🙂
The main thing that bothers me about the G7 models is the 1000r curve. I can see it working well with the G9 ultrawide, but it just seems excessive for a 16:9 panel, the 32" might be better, but it's just not needed on a 27". I changed from a curved Samsung VA panel to the LG 27gl850 a while ago and I think I prefer the flat panel over the curved Samsung (the panel tech itself is hands down better, the flat vs curved thing is a bit more subjective)
I'd be interested to see how it works out though, if it can genuinely compete with top end IPS panels in terms of response times then it could be quite good, my LG doesn't deal with blacks as well as my old VA Samsung did, that's about the only thing I miss.
@@LyK0sa Yes that is also why I went with the asus out of this Video
Does the ELMB look better at lower refresh rates? I found ULMB looks best on the Acer predator 27XU at 85hz and not 120hz be interested to know
I'd like to see a review of the BenQ XL2546S, mainly its strobing implementation.

I dont really understand the overdrive and undershoot thing regarding the responstime. it says 1 ms GTG - but is a tn panel with 1 ms gtg(for instance xl 2546) still a better option compared to the vg279qm ?
overclock from 240hz to 280hz... that's useful.

Could be pretty useful with a 3080 in a few months. Pure pixel count, no. DlSS 3, still appears to be a higher resolution.

@@dutchdykefinger the problem is not just pixel density but also viewing distance.
You normally sit a lot further away from a TV comparing to a monitor.

Hello, I could get feedback on this ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQL1A monitor? I bought one but it had a monstrous IPS Glow, I am waiting for its return, I wonder whether to order 2 or take another monitor for the price? What do you recommend?
Neat. *waits for oled
micro led will be the next thing and looking at more loacal dimming zones + better colours id be alright with it if we get decent
Strobing options havent had good strobing since crt
Waits for them to solve the OLED burn in issues, and color deterioration before I jump on that bandwagon.
Things I'd like to see in monitors:
Now:
- More Gsync or other scalers that offer variable overdrive
- Profiles per input
- VESA support on everything
- Making sure all the inputs can offer full performance
- USB hubs with faster USB specifications
Stretch:
- OLED, Mini and Micro LED
- HDR, as in 1000+ HDR. At consumer price points
- Better out of the box calibration for all monitors, not just pro
- The ability to flash calibration to the monitor instead of the system being used (perhaps a standard can be created to facilitate this across all brands)

hello,
will it work perfectly with ryzen 5 5600x + 3070 gpu? or should I really go for 1440p monitor ( ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27 inch)? to maximize my gpu? im confused what to get
suprised we have 300hz laptops and now finally 280hz. Any explanation guys?
Laptop displays don't use the same type of connection as an external monitor, ie HDMI, Display port, etc. This is because the laptop graphics card connects directly to the integrated display allowing for higher bandwith and therefore a larger refresh rate.
300Hz screen but then they barely keep up with 200 fps lmfao laptop and gaming in the same sentence makes me laugh
Bruno M Then you can stick with PC I guess?
I got the VG278 some years ago and it's been a fantastic monitor. Maybe I'll look at upgrading to this.
Monitor makers: Give me a freaking 2560x1080 240hz IPS display, please thank you.
And go and tell Valorant and Overwatch they should allow 21:9 monitors so you can start selling 21:9 240hz monitors to everyone.
With DisplayPort 2 you can have 3440x1440 @240hz IPS :D
I'm fine with most competitive games being stuck at 16:9.
That wouldn’t be fair to people with 16:9 because you would be getting a higher fov.
Why Valorant and Overwatch? Should be appealing to games with higher player bases.
@@rossharper1983 because are very popular games with big playerbases. And they happen to be the two that don't support 21:9 for balance reasons.

Why can't we just call it freesync instead of letting nvidia hijack the brand?
