    WARNING: DO NOT use the pictures I used in the motion blur (Alien) test on any of my currently uploaded monitor reviews, those examples were presented incorrectly. Please use references from a reputable review source such as RTINGS.com. I have educated myself on the proper way of testing monitors and will use the proper test method in all upcoming reviews. I apologize for any issues this may have caused. As a one man team, it's hard to peer review. You guys are my peer review. Thank you to those who pointed out and helped educate me on my mistakes. You know who you are.
    UPDATE: The info on the DeltaE of the calibrated display I gave was wrong! I did the test wrong which is why it seemed so bad for a calibrated IPS display. The calibrated display gets a DeltaE of 0.42 which is PHENOMENAL! That is all. Continue.

    • @BijanJamshidi
      @BijanJamshidi  4 года назад +6

      Thank you! Well I suggest getting something that’s 120 or 144Hz to future proof for PS5 since you can’t take advantage of that on a PS4. I’m not sure if you can do 120 on PS4 though.

    • @rudenutt
      @rudenutt 4 года назад +3

      @@BijanJamshidi OK yeah I get that. If I were to get this one say to use it for PC in the future, would it still work alright my PS4 or would it not play well, it would just sync up to the ps4s 60hz right?

    • @BijanJamshidi
      @BijanJamshidi  4 года назад +3

      @@rudenutt Correct. Any monitor will work up to it's max specified refresh rate. So even if you plug it into something that's not capable of running at that refresh rate, the monitor just won't run faster than the output device can.

    I've been doing a lot of searching online about this but there isn't a true consensus... I'm about to get this monitor, upgrading from an Acer GN246HL. I have a 3700x and GTX 1070. Would it make sense to take advantage of the G-SYNC when my fps is between the range 48-240 since input delay doesn't matter as much? (Meaning, single-player/MMORPGS at high/max settings) and turn off G-SYNC when I play 'competitive' games like MOBAS/FPS to prioritize minimizing input delay? Cheers

    • @BijanJamshidi
      @BijanJamshidi  4 года назад

      Exactly as you stated is correct. If you're playing something like Siege or CSGO and running over 240FPS constantly, screen tearing will be very unnoticeable compared to a game running at a lower FPS, so G-Sync being on won't even matter when running games at 240+ and would be best off to eliminate all that unneeded input lag, though it is very minimal impact when on.

    I got a question. You probably know that in some games you can select the refresh rate of the monitor in the settings. If you overclock it to 280hz, is it even going to show up in the game settings or the max it will be 240hz? Hope you get what I mean. ( For example in GTA V you can chose the refresh rate, between 60,144,240. Will the 280hz show up in the menu?) Cause for my 75hz monitor it doesn't show up more than 60hz in the settings in gta v

      You should be able to as long as the game supports it. Most will, but some won't. CS:GO, GTA5, Valorant and such should have no issues, but a game like Escape from Tarkov is a different story where you're capped at 120Hz, which really doesn't matter since the game is so poorly optimized in the first place it's impossible to get over 120 consistently.

      If you are low on cash purchasing another monitor at 240hz same as your current monitor would be a waste of money period.
      The only reason you would upgrade your current monitor is if you wanted to upgrade from your 1920x1080 native resolution to a 2k,4k resolution monitor or if you wanted to upgrade your current 240hz to a 360hz monitor for competitive gaming.
      I must say Curved Panel monitors do look very nice compared to a non curved monitor.

But it's a very similar panel and i'm afraid it would do the same thing. i'm not sure what causes this effect i tried every single settings. also wondering you advertise this monitor to 1ms and then say you don't use the ELMB settings ( wich is what makes it from 4ms to 1ms no?) i've tried the ELMB on my VG27AQ, it didn't help my problem and the screen was way too dark to even enjoy gaming on it. anyway i'd realy appreciate your help!

      There’s a bunch of comments there I’m reading that can help you. Lowering from 165Hz to 144Hz, lowering graphics settings to get higher FPS in game, setting a different level of overdrive, etc. try the stuff you read there. But it may be that the panel itself won’t be as good for 2 reasons. Early IPS & 144Hz. 240Hz displays usually will perform better in response time.
