I have no idea what he’s talking about in this video, but I can’t wait to repeat everything he said as if I do understand.
Stop there then, its all hype.
@@tyronenelson9124 it isn't though. he's talking about pretty cut and dry technical aspects of the monitors. Ghosting, refresh rate, artifacting, etc. Those are all important aspects of a monitor now-a-days because of how many options we have. In fact, most 240hz monitors are damn good. But the technical aspects he talks about making a few percent difference, and that few percent difference is what makes one monitor superior.
😭😭😭😭😭
Stick to apple and nintendo
@@TheFunLuvnCRIMINAL so do I throw my rig away? 😔
CORRECTION: The ASUS VG259QM has both FreeSync & G-Sync Compatability.
The video isn't totally focused on my face. Seems to be focused more on the monitors, which is appropriate I suppose.

Doesn't alienware have a 360hz ips monitor?.
@@therealb888 no... Theres no such a monitor. The closest to this is Asus's TN 360hz panel (not monitor) but its not for sale. And obviously NOT IPS.
Corrently no one can buy a 360 hz monitor.
Do you know the response time for the asus overdrive set at 40
Everytime i think of a few products im interested in, you've already posted a video for it. You wizard you. Good stuff my man!!
Omg! This is literally the PERFECT video I needed! Huge thanks man!
I love how you give a final conclusion on why you would buy each monitor and not just say it depends and end the video like other youtubers. I was debating between these two monitors and you gave a clear and detail comparison. You got a new sub!
Which one did you choose?
Which one did you choose ?
What u choose
great review man, think ill be getting the AW!
Thanks for the reviews - they're great. I'd love to see you cover pixel response at 60HZ (for those wanting to use console/cranking graphically demanding games to the max) and also cover input lag at different HZ, as I've read that some monitors can have drastically different results depending on how fast the screen is running.
Yup, at 60Hz:
Dell has 8.4ms inputlag,
Asus has 35.0ms !!
Asus is not for consoles
Why would you use a 240hz monitor for console?
🤮60hz
@@thenut1241 I’m probably going to buy the Alienware for my Xbox Series X which outputs 120hz at 1080p. I play Apex Legends extremely competitively and I have heard that 240hz monitors have much less input lag and better response time than 144hz monitors. I was going to go for a 144hz 1440p Pixio monitor for my Series X, as it can output 1440p @ 120hz, but I’m not sure how good that monitor is, and I need to have the best possible performance.
Damn! This is what we called A PERFECT comparison video. Amazing man you just got a sub!

Nice comprehensive review! You deserve more subscribers for sure. Imo I wasn't really considering the Asus VG259QM at all but due to months of lack of stock availability of Asus VG259Q on our region I'm kinda forced to think of upgrading to this instead.
By the way as a sidenote, not sure if this will ever be read at all, but I would love a take on the Asus VG24VQ 144Hz curved VA monitor as well. TechTeamGB did a decent job on the review as it was the only English vid I could find, but more vids of it would be better as at least on our region it seems a bit more competitively priced.
I read ALL the comments. I’ll take a look at that and see if it’s something I’m interested in!
@@BijanJamshidi Thanks much appreciated!
Just what iv been looking for! thanks!
Thank you very much!!! This video was Absolutely needed!
That sniper mode reminds me of an old meme where a guy had a magnifying glass taped to his big screen lol

I am super thrilled with motion clarity on my 2546s. Can’t wait for you to be able to get your hands on it and see what you think of it. Whenever it’s in stock of course.
I have a pg258q and I can’t find an upgrade path other than this one..regarding motion clarity at least
but it has a big problem ! you have just two options for overdrive ( high and premium )and both are very aggresive and endup with crazy overshots or off option that endup being very blury even worse than ips models !, best od option is about 30 in factury menu but you could not save it ! that is so stupid ! where is medium option for ama ?! why we could not choose exactly the od number as we want , at least give us something like asus did with 6 step od not just two step that benq did !!!!
Thx for the great review I didn't knew which one I wanted to chose but you definetly made my decision easier
Which one are you going with?
Man what a great video as usual. Your channel is becoming BIIIIIIG!!

great video once agan you are the man !
Used your code/link to buy the Alienware. Thanks for the review.
This guy is making really good point while rapping.😂
Thanks for this video man! These are the two monitors I narrowed my search down to so I really appreciate it!! I'm still a little undecided though as I mostly play smash bros melee on my pc which is a 60fps only game and would more rely on input lag and ghosting than anything else. Because of this, do you think I should get the asus or the alienware?
Not sure. I would suggest looking at RTINGS for input lag at that FPS.
@@BijanJamshidi I think I'm leaning more towards the alienware just because it seems to be nicer for general use and looks like a better package.
It's actually very beneficial to have a 120+hz monitor to play slippy melee. It reduces the input lag
behind him you can see how clean and smooth the alienware is :o, CHECK ordering tomorrow :D
Super in depth and helpful, the only thing I’d add is it would’ve been useful to give some explanation or a reference on how to calibrate a monitor to get more color accuracy
Already made a video on that. Take a look if you're interested.
According to other reviews, the ASUS indeeed sports freesync. It would be weird if it didn't and was only G sync certified
Im actually using an AW2521HF with extreme override and FreeSync on. There no ghost effects.. the ghost effects there are only in the case you turn off your VRR and set super fast or extreme. But the VRR is a game changer and i have it always on, in any game. So don't worry guys, set ypu g sync or free sync on and set extreme.
I have to activate freesync on the monitor and that's it? do I have to put vsync in games too?
@@camilovillegas9707 vsync always disable.. you have to activate freesync on monitor and on vga drivers control panel. Set extreme and enjoy. Im using it from 3 months without any problem.
@Muka Hadama Not by much you won't notice. Just mess around and see what you like the best. You can always turn it off
@Muka Hadama Seriously? Bad enough that you don't use it??? How do you like the monitor??
Are you still using the monitor??

Hey man thanks for the video great review! I just have a question regarding the ghosting what if I use the Alienware monitor on 144hz refresh rate with the extreme setting will the ghosting be better?

Just ordered the Asus from Best Buy. Will be here tomorrow and I cannot wait to hook it up. Going from a 27" 1440p panel as I personally feel better using a 24-25 panel. Easier to scan the screen for enemies and such on games
How do you like 1440p vs 1080p?
@@Orion-redx7 For me it all depends on screen size. 1080p is perfect for a 24-25 screen as it has a good pixel density. On a 27" screen I feel 1080p looks like crap. The 1440p is just better for that size
I was comparing these monitors earlier today, so glad this video is out, Love these videos.

Hi great show👍👍, what is the Best game’g 40” Plus Monitor for next gen consoles , thanks. Keep up the good work👍👍👍.
Bro love your video, please dont stop. Still looking at the optimal 280hz + monitor. its burning a hole in my pocket to spend now.
Thank you for amazing content that you make and the high quality reviews by just one person. I have question, what do you prefer viewsonic elite XG270 or the ASUS TUF Gaming VG259QM(regardless the price)? Also from your experience do you think 1080p on 27” monitor is bad?
I prefer the ASUS for its size and performance, then the ViewSonic for everything else. I don't particularly like 27" 1080p displays because of the poor pixel density. But not everyone cares about that.
Bijan Jamshidi thank you for replying. Can you please explain what exactly you mean by better performance?(input lag, colors, faster... etc). Sorry if I’m bothering you, but I’m gonna buy one of them for very long time.
Got the ASUS and have not regrets, i dont care for cosmetic. just performance. better ghosting and refresh.
How's it to this day? (if you have any screen problems and regret something about it)
How's the performance @60hz and @144hz?
Is 240hz to 280hz a noticeable difference?
Does ELMB work good?
Also do you notice some input lag?
HI great reviews, I noticed the legs on the Alienware stand seem to sit out the front of the monitor a lot. is this correct, it looks like it is not allowing your keyboard mat to sit flush on the table. If you are restricted is the Asus stand smaller?
first thing first, your videos are amazing, you really go on detail, thank you.
I ended up buying the Alienware on mars because the Asus was out of stock. I did wanted the Asus but, now that i been using this Alienware, I feel good about my monitor. Thanks for the video.

Great review! I am on the fence about whether to get the Asus (assuming it ever comes back in stock).

Finally received the VG259QM two days ago after getting it delayed for a week from Amazon here in Canada. Upgraded from the Acer GN246HL which is 144Hz TN panel. I'm absolutely impressed and it is a world of difference. It's my first time on an IPS and the gsync has actually been helping me soo much with single player games. The 240Hz has actually helped things feel even smoother in FPS despite not reach 240fps. Comment if you have any questions and I'll try to get back asap.
Hey mate, planning to buy this 280hz monitor soon, currently using a samsung lc27hg70, which is wqhd and 144hz 1ms, but its not fast enough for me and has terrible ghosting problems. So my question is, is it similar to 240hz 1ms TN panels? Does it worth it and the things that I'm afraid of are backlight bleed and ips glow. can u inform me thanks?
Bruh I'm LITERALLY on the GN246HL Right now with the Asus VG259QM in a cart on Amazon. I'm really glad I saw this comment. I was looking to shift my Acer to a streaming/music etc monitor and start gaming on the Asus since I recently upgraded from b350 tomahawk to x570 motherboard and moved from ryzen 5 1500x to ryzen 5 3600.
Now all I'll need is the 2070 super and I'm a brand new man.
Does it have visible motion blur? That is what's holding me back from buying vg259qm.. I have vg24qe atm..
@@turonness13 is there any motion blur?
What is the best color calibration?
Need a review on the AORUS KD25F :)
Yes pls. Also the MSI 25in 240hz.
Love the video man
Was literally debating between these two monitors, decided to go with the vg259qm, thanks a lot!
And what has been your thoughts on your choice?
Great review. I've been considering both of these monitors, and placed an order for the Alienware. My order through amazon is still pending and I'm not sure when it will be delivered. My question is which monitor do you prefer using? And if you had to pick between the two of them, which one are you more fond of?
I'd prefer the Alienware for a bunch of reasons. It's way better looking, it has a much better OSD which is basically automated, I don't plan on using ELMB because of the brightness drop, so ghosting will perform about the same, and has a bunch of I/O I can take advantage of. 280Hz is nice, but that's about the only redeeming feature for me, and that definitely doesn't outweigh what the Alienware provides.
@@BijanJamshidi Thanks for the response and great info man! Really love your channel, I'll be sure to pass it on to my friends.
I ordered mine a week ago when it was out of stock from Amazon. It had an ETA of 7/11 but arrived yesterday 6/26, so you might gets yours soon. Just check the status everyday.
best buy has the HFL model instock, mine will be here tomorrow and i ordered yesterday. cancel amazon and get off ebay.
@@BijanJamshidi Hey man just wanted to leave an update. I received my Alienware AW2521hf about a month ago and have been loving it. I managed to pick it up on Amazon for $315, which I feel is an absolute steal. It seems I won the panel lottery and have very minimal BLB and no dead or stuck pixels. Colors are amazingly vibrant after some self calibration (no calibration tools unfortunately) and the motion is buttery smooth. I'm able to use the extreme response time setting with no noticeable overshoot and I'm overall extremely happy. Your review was a huge part of my buying decision so I wanted to take the time to thank you for the great content, and I will continue to recommend your videos to all of my friends. Much love
Hey mate, great video. I am overwhelmed with what to buy. I am happy to spend $500- 750 aud for a 1440P 144hz+ with as good as possible input lag. I love tarkov (therefore a good black eq would be nice) but i play all types of games. Do you have a few choices I should look into? I currently have a benq XL2720Z and will be getting a RTX 3070. Thanks for the advice!
BabyDixieKong I was the same buy the Alienware aw2521hf
I have the same question. But I think who I will choose the Asus :(
Hey man,
Are you planning on reviewing the 2546s? Looking for a monitor with the best overall screen clarity for fast pased FPS. Your reviews really give good insight in the capabilities of these gaming monitors. Waiting for your review to decide between Asus TUF VG25QM and 2546s.
One point of advice that would make your reviews even more valuable for me would be to go a bit deeper into the 120 or 144hz performance of these monitors. Reason for this being a lot of people wont be able to play most games on 240hz.
thanks again for a great video my guy

Awesome vid, man! + update: got my Asus vg259qm a week ago and im in love. i have adaptive sync and elmb off 240hz with OD40
OD40 better than 60? I've left those settings straight out of the box and just fixed the colors and didn't touch anything else. I use gsync when playing single player games only. How is OD40 vs 60 on competitive FPS? (Currently playing Valorant)
noel4140 if you don’t notice over shooting or pixels looking funky I would stay 60 the higher the overdrive the better response time theoretically that 1ms response is only if your using over drive 100 so the closer u can get to that without it affecting your graphical fidelity the better
@@Thirdeyestrappd is it ok if you always turn on the overclock which is the 280hz? or it will give the monitor shorter lifespan? pls need this badly im currently using 280hz with 80 overdrive in csgo and pubg.
Rupert James Calma yes as long as you don’t manually overclock the monitor yourself past 280hz the lifespan should stay the same as it is the under Asus own warranty
Rupert James Calma I also use 280hz I’m stuck between 60-80 100 I definitely notice a green aura around the enemy’s body in cod valorant and csgo 80 is once in a while and 60 I never notice it
I was just looking at these 2 monitors myself. I could get the AW2521HFL as soon as the next day or wait up to 10 days for the VG259QM to arrive. And after seeing the absolutely insane performance of the VG259QM with the ELBM... there's no other way of putting it. There's just no other better monitor atm, be it TN or IPS. And I am mindblown. I was not expecting IPS to get ahead of TN any time soon. Plus, if you look at rtings's results of something like the XL2546K's (which from what I saw is the best or almost the best TN panel today) regarding motion and you put it side by side with the VG259QM's results... it's night and day. You can see ghosting on the TN panel while on the VG259QM, you do not.
And with black frame insertion technology, the VG259QM is literally the best monitor motion wise at 240hz+ today. I can't wait to see the first OLED gaming panel. LG's TVs are insanely clear at 120hz but 120hz is a bit too slow at the moment.
Also, if you pay close attention to rtings's input lag results, the VG259QM has literally lower input latency numbers than the TN counterpart. And also extremely good results with VRR enabled or BFI enabled.
I never thought I would pick an IPS for high refresh rate gaming unironically. But I am so happy I do. The 6 bit panel on my current XL2430T has driven me insane with those warm, washed out colors. The 8 bit ips panel will be an insane upgrade.
Thank you for this video!
Are you seriously not surprised by the lack of sharpness of the asus? in the video you can make the comparison and the sharpness of the asus is very very bad.
@@revelry9118 I have been owning the ASUS monitor for a little over a month now and I can easily say that there is no "lack of sharpness" you're talking about.
Text is crisp, in games the monitor has no issues with edges or sharp contrast and in general this decision has been easily the very best.
My old XL2430T was literal dog shit in comparison sharpness wise. And the XL2430T is not that far away from what the 2546K is doing in terms of raw image quality.
@@FOGoticus I understand, but I do not know how they do not see the lack of sharpness of the Asus, look at this and compare, even a blind person would notice.
