Great and detailed review! I do wish the review also covered the bike's adjustable suspension with compression, rebound, and preload both in front and at the rear. It's another significant feature that makes this bike unique in its class and price range. No need to worry about weight, because buyers can really make this bike theirs, no matter how light or heavy they and their luggage may be.

5:56 - I don't think the weight is an issue at all for beginner riders. It is on par with the likes of the SV650, and it hides it well by having a small fuel tank & carrying most of the weight down low (fat rear & 18" inch front help anchor it all down pretty well). Initially the 180-deg parallel twin put me off but after test riding it recently I found it to be the best execution of this garden variety parallel twin available -- the induction noise is definitely a highlight & really sets it apart!
The feel of the switchgear takes some getting used to though coz they're membrane switches, like on my Triumph Tiger 850. Not the clicky traditional type, but they are definitely a far cry from the cheap-feeling ones on, say, Benelli QJ bikes.
Overall, a more modern & far better specced offering than the SV650, better sounding than the Z650 and, where I live, a hell lot cheaper than the MT-07. My 5'3" wife who's looking for her first bike was instantly swayed from her initial choice the SV650.

All the features that this bike brings to the table in it's price range is really something we've never seen before in before. The only problem i can see right now is the bike's fuel consumption. It's almost 1L more compared to SV650 while having a smaller fuel tank, which results in almost 100km less mileage on one full tank. And i'm afraid that will be all that matters in the upcoming future my friend. It's really sad, because this bike could have start a revolution ...

Certainly a feature packed bike, but I cannot resolve myself with the looks. The Yamaha XSR and the Honda CB650R are so much more sharp in the neo retro department. I had a look at these last summer and I couldn’t get along with the looks, ended up going with a similar priced Yamaha R3. I guess for the price, the CFMoto is really good value, they all just slightly miss the mark in styling. That’s my opinion, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Also a ride comparison to say Yamaha's MT-07 which I believe is one of its competitors. Interesting review. In Australia this bike would not be considered a beginner/ learner bike based upon power/torque. Ie < 40kw. 3yr unlimited km warranty and $P, good quality branded components it's work a serious look. C.f. Honda cb650r neo retro I would think is closest comparison. Ps is the engine a copy of the Kawasaki 650 parallel twin?
