- We are back with a new travel video, Is this NORMAL? 🇮🇳 First Class Train to Agra | My Experience on a Sleeper Train in India: Is it Worth it?
Welcome to The Wander Life Channel.
We've taken a few trains already here in India, but this was our first overnight. The journey was going to be 16 hours and so we went for the more expensive 1st class sleeper cabin.
We were super lucky in the end because nobody else purchased a ticket for our cabin, meaning we had it all to ourselves for the whole journey. Well, that is with the exception of the Indian Army Soldier who came in unexpectedly. We initially thought he was coming in to perhaps complete a security check (we've encountered other armed soldiers on different trains), but it actually transpired that he wanted to video call his wife and show us to his family. The problem was that he didn't speak English, and we didn't speak his language.
His first visit to our cabin was 30 - 40 minutes, followed by a further 5 visits. In the end, it became quite problematic and so we had to lock the door and say that we wouldn't be opening it when he continued to come back.
It was all friendly and we understand the enthusiasm, particularly when some people perhaps don't encounter too many foreigners, but in the end, it was quite challenging to remain polite and engaging. Thankfully, the rest of the journey was great, so come with us today as we share our experience traveling first class on the Indian Railway.

I would recomend you to go always for Rajdhani, Gatiman, Duranto, Tejas, train 18 or vande Bharat trains for long journey for better journey.
And if you want to get the best of the best i mean literally some of best luxurious and expensive trans are there in India like Golden chariot, Maharaja Express, Deccan odysse, palace on wheels, Rajasthan on wheels, Orient express etc...
Would absolutely love to go on the Maharaja Express one day! Watched some videos of that and it looks utterly incredible!
@@TheWanderLifeit would be great 👍. Bc some of them are most expensive and luxurious trains in the world.
Great video Wayne and Xiomara really enjoyed it xx lots of love to you both xx
Thanks Mum! Glad you enjoyed it 😊❤
Really enjoyed that but you didn’t say if the coffee was good 😂 Another great video 👍
Haha sorry about that, I mean for me this was also 100% the most important question 🤣 The coffee was good but the place was overpriced. In the end it was for sure a place that relies on tuktuk drivers bringing customers in, so not really a place I'd necessarily choose again myself. There are a couple of places closer to the Taj in the old city that have rooftops looking over the whole place that are much better value, but it's certainly not teaming with options there. Unfortunate for me because I am undoubtedly an addict haha
hope you had good time in India! the person in the uniform is from Indian Border Security Force ... These boys
have a tough life ... most likely he was excited to go back home on a leave (1 month in a year) ....so please do not take him wrong ... i'm ex Army ... enjoy your stay in India
Hey Manpreet! Had a brilliant time - it was my second visit to India and certainly won’t be my last 😊 No, absolutely not. There was no harm done and certainly no bad intention, he was just excited and enthusiastic. The only problem was he didn’t know when to call it a day 😂 I just hope in the end that we didn’t actually cause any offence by telling him no more visits. Hopefully his visit home was a good one though 😊
@@TheWanderLife you did not cause any offence ... rather you were very friendly to him ... thank you for that ... but if you want him to be Court Marshled that is possbile ;-)
Don’t cover for this low rank BSF guard. He clearly made them feel scared n uncomfortable.
@@utkarshawasthi8864 have you ever served? simple question ? if not then please leave and I have already asked for apology from the tourist couple ... they understood the position so let this matter rest in peace ... and please do not talk about the low rank ... they are the first one to take the bullet.
@@smanpreet86 Sir, I am simply pissed off after watching this guy violating their privacy n their Experience here in India! What message it conveys!!! BDW why did you questioning my respect for Armed forces!! You have served army that doesn’t make you have more love n respect towards soldiers compared to those you didn’t! I simply said “this” low rank guard (particularly) to make understand these couple that sometimes some low rank guards do this (even I have also experienced the same with a CRPF JAWAN). Did you see how he climb to upper seat with the lady during a video call? Will this be acceptable if you were there with you family? I have great respect for our soldiers but there are some exceptions. And this FELLOW is the ONE!
The vlog showcases the diversity of people, cultures and scenery one can encounter during a train journey in India. Like and support from Bangalore.
Indeed! We've met some real characters on the trains and of course all across India. It was a fun, memorable experience in the end. Thanks so much for watching 😊
You can always complain to railway police in such conditions
No idea even where to start. We didn't really feel like we had anywhere to go or anyone to say something to whilst he was in army clothing and basically commanding the carriage. Aside from the guy who changes the sheets etc, we were the only ones in the whole carriage with this guy so just figured we best politely tell him to not come back rather than cause a potential scene complaining 😢
He is not in army it's more like train security force maybe and If you had problem just tell him we don't want to talk
That's what we did in the end. We went with it to begin with, but after 30-40 minutes we'd had enough. Then when he came back umpteen times we had to tell him in the end not to come back in. Problem was, he didn't speak our language, not us his and so trying to communicate that effectively whilst trying to be polite was quite tough
2:37 you sir smelled someone else's germs. The guy came and changed those pillow covers later on.😅😅
Oh nooooooo! I know, I realised afterward and just hope that the carriage was empty beforehand haha
@@TheWanderLife Hope so. 😆
@@gogadev Let's hope in the very worst case it was only an armpit at least haha
That was a crazy dude you had to put up with.
I don't think he meant any harm, but he didn't really understand boundaries. He came in uninvited rather abruptly to begin with but we went with it and said hello to his family etc, but it became quite wearing at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th times of him trying to come back in. Hopefully we didn't offend him or anything but yea, we were on edge for a little while haha
@@TheWanderLife Yes definitely no harm was intended.
God! How intense experience! 😂
Loved it in the end ❤
nice video but whats with that music in intro from a cow video.
Super Expensive Food 150rs It should have been 80rs this is the official price even if it is something especial 120rs which it was not special, Also yes with the first class usually food is included I don't know why he took the money.
I thought this might be the case to be honest. I kind of got the feeling at the time that it was a bit fishy
Cutie couples in india 🤫🤩🤪
Thanks Aravind! Hope you’re doing well! 😊✌🏻
That guy was from Border Security Force a para military force not the main army. My father was in BSF too in higher rank.
He is much lower in rank. Generally people from army and para military forces are very disciplined and well behaved. He is definitely an exception.
Whatever, should you find anyone breaching your privacy report to train authority without getting intimidated by them being in police, army or whatever.
If you know his details like name etc. I would like to report him to BSF higher authorities.
Hey there! Thanks for watching and for your comment. Yea we figured he was within some branch of the military, but of course we're not too educated on it. He was a nice enough guy, just way too intense and not really conscious of social boundaries. I think had there have been a more present authority on the train, we would have said something, but all we seen was him feeling authorative over other people on the train (telling people coming to go away etc) and so we didn't feel like we actually had anywhere to go, especially whilst we were in the last carriage of the train.
No idea on his name or details, and wouldn't want to get anyone into real trouble anyway. Just hope it's not a common occurance
These low rank BSF guards are really a hole to everyone. Just complain to Railway police which are present in train. Do not get scared or you can ask help from other passengers . They can communicate well for you.
This food seriously..its not even okay okay kind of food .. very bad
Food is not included i don't believe it. ...and you guys seat on the worst train in India i think
He was definitely out of line and rudely intrusive. It is ironic and almost karmic since you film people without permission and post to RUclips during your travels. Not everyone is ok with being filmed.
If you replyy comment your video go viral 😅😅😅
😂🙈
Better avoid such cheap guy. He doesn’t behave properly….
Yea, it was definitely invasive
