New Orleans has an outstanding musical tradition, and especially jazz music just wouldn't have happened without folks like Jelly Roll Morton, and all those Louis Armstrong, Wilbert Kirk, Champion Jack Dupree, Wynton Marsalis and so many others were to follow. And then there were The Meters or the Neville Brothers, influential almost like those pioneers, even though half a century later and in different genres, as well as Allen Toussaint. And Dr. John is a part of that great tradition. And definitely not the least important one. '$uicide Boy$' just happen to be from New Orleans as well, but the kind of music they make has been created elsewhere and has nothing to do with that city.
