Rotating mass specially clutch disc has an important rule in this. Remember...the 2nd gear syncro has to slow down the input shaft to match/engage second gear, and that takes time in heavy duty aplications like this one. There are solutions for that, but from the OEM standpoint it would mostly be a dual mass flywheel because the dampening is removed from the disc weight. But the size is the same, so I don't think it would do enough. And we all know how bad those dual mass are. In the aftermarket world there are better solutions.

The arm position looks very uncomfortable, like the shifter is too close to you. As a tall person I am concerned about fit. I could not care less about hearing the exhaust. I would like to hear the hum of the engine.
The Z had no chance. Toyota has $25k to $55k enthusiast car market with the gr86, gr Corolla, Supra manual. The Z should have started $35k for the base sport. I was disappointed when they announced it was starting at $40k for the same Z car with only a new engine.
supra Manual is getting the S58 so its going to fly with 533hp !! the Z should have had dual mode Exhaust and the manual should have given the manual 2-3 psi more to compensate for the longer gear ratios compared to the Auto with the short gearing .
The manual Supra isn’t getting the S58, it’s getting the B58. There may be a future GRMN Supra with the S58 and a BMW sourced dual clutch. Don’t expect a manual on that trim.
@@Barbwire710 supra already has the B58 the MY24 is rumored to get the 533 HP version with the manual 6spd and it surely is . Get your info from reliable sources GR MN the MN stands for manual not Dual Clutch . My family friend own's multiple car dealerships with these brands so I do have some good info sometimes ahead of schedule..
@@NAZTYPONY007 ummm... MN means "Meister of Nurburgring" not Manual but the rumor is the S58 GRMN Supra will have a manual option...
Let’s be honest Kirk, the value of the Z (base and performance) is subpar compared to its competitors. The Z is a great car but it’s over hyped and over praised. When the “real” reviews come out, everyone will see. Just like how the Z lost to the Supra. And what was everyone’s excuse, the tires of course.
