    This review just earned you another subscriber. Very well done review, my friend! I've had this game on PC and i remember pure amazing memories. Me and my brother used to play it and I remember us being stuck for a while in the treehouse level and the last level before you're fighting Clayton, when saving the apes :S

    • @n64glennplant
      @n64glennplant  10 лет назад +2

      ha yeah clayton was surprisingly hard i thought! glad you liked this video, i only cover n64 stuff on this channel which is not for everyones taste but for those of us with fond memories of the console its a cool place to be i hope :)

    • @Elake_Simon
      @Elake_Simon 10 лет назад +1

      That's what I like about your channel so much. That you only cover n64 stuff :D
      Nintendo 64 is my favourite console of all time. I myself have a Nintendo 64, but I bought that console about 2 years ago. Because me and my brother (mostly me) made a BIG mistake and sold our first Nintendo 64 that we had :S
      So I bought another one to relive the good old classic games. Some of my top favourite games on the system are Donkey Kong 64, Mario 64, Turok: Rage Wars, Banjo Kazooie and most of all Conker's Bad Fur Day :D

    • @n64glennplant
      @n64glennplant  10 лет назад

      Well I'm aiming to eventually cover all n64 games and so there's plenty more to come :-)

    Loved this game. I had this for PC back in the day and me and my brother used fight over who's turn it was to play. Even though the soundtrack from the movie is virtually absent the music was good and really set the mood. The mix of 2d and 3d elements also really made things cool and is one of the best "2.5d" games I've ever played. This one and Toy Story 2 for n64 are the best Disney licensed games on the console by a pretty significant margin. First class game!

      ArtilleryCrusader Both the PC and N64 version were ports of the Ps1 version. So all three are practically identical but I don't think the PS1 and PC has a difficulty setting. And the N64 doesn't have cutscenes from the movue

    It kinda reminds me of Pandemonium.
    It's a shame about Eurocom biting the dust recently though, they made pratically every James Bond game on consoles since James Bond Jr on the NES (which is a great game). But I think they always played catch up with them after Goldeneye, as they were all "like goldeneye, but...", they even developed the goldeneye "remake".

    • @n64glennplant
      @n64glennplant  10 лет назад +1

      i really liked pandemonium, well the first one anyway i got it with my ps1 but i remember not liking the sequels all that much. plus the jester guy did get kind of annoying

    • @GlassMufasa
      @GlassMufasa 9 лет назад +1

      Christ almighty, you really are everywhere. Anyway, Pandemonium is a blast. I've only found out about it recently. There was a serious lack of 2.5D games in that generation. Odd, being that in the previous generation, sidescrolling platformers were the norm.

    Aah Skyrim, wherefore art thou so damn big :p Tarzan however was a very decent game on the playstation, I completed it with a friend just a couple of weeks ago. Sadly, here on the continent (kids) games are often localized, so I had to play it in Dutch. Why do game developers do this, can't they just leave the game in English and add optional subtitles. Who wants to play with dubbed voice acting :s Ooh well, I'll definitely look out for the English N64 version of Tarzan. Great review, thanks!

    Anyway that game was far too easy as a platform game. But the reason why they did was the fact this game was more for young children. The early beta was far more hard than the recent version. Was actually loose all interest in particular in Europe.

  • @GBlastMan
    @GBlastMan 8 лет назад

    Its a good game, it has a decent level design with vibrant colours and lush enviroments, the sound deparment yeah it could be a little better IMO since is pretty tame and soft for a game like this it needs more of that "unfff" that platformers of the 16-bit era usually had with the soundtrack, but there some stuff that i think are a bit clunky to say the least, and those are the controls, yeah you can adapt to them really quickly but they are kinda stiff and sometimes way too tight, something i usually dislike of this game is the fact that when you want to jump from a stand still it has some strange delay to it and most of the time that means that if you dont jump while moving you will miss most of the platforms, other thing i think is pretty bad is the damage you took from the enemies, most of the time the enemies will destroy you with almost 4 hits even if you have the full life bar you will suffer with this the entire game, and most of the time you can't tell what's an enemy and what's not meaning that you will get hurt A LOT, also the Jane segment most of the time you will hit almost EVERYTHING in your path, i dont know if it is beacuse she has a pretty big hit box or how she controls but by far is one of the worst bonus-like stages on the game.
    Sorry for the long comment dude XD, in short Tarzan is a good game it has some pretty big flaws in some parts but after all is a good platformer for the N64.

    Am I the only one that finds this difficult as fuck?!?! I just went back to it after never beating it as a kid and I can't beat it now either! And I'm only on normal! I can do most things with little challenge, but the stampede level and the baboon chase usually run me out of lives, and between unavoidable birds, rhinos that have exactly one place you can safely jump on, and vines that don't always follow physics I've never made it through. I also can't save it so I have to start from square one each time which just gets me more frustrated

    This was a really fun game. My parents got so pissed off at me playing it that they took it away from me for awhile. Jane and the baboons was a annoying part and Clayton though hot asf, was an asshole. This gamr was definitely a hidden gem. I hate that I lost it.

    My first game. EVER. I played it when I was wearing diaper. And somehow I played better than my sister who is older. And I kicked-ass on the game. Maybe that is why I`m good at games.

    I have to disagree with most people here, with the nostalgia goggles off, this is a poor game. The controls aren't that tight, considering how unfair the enemies are. They're constantly swooping down, or throwing things from off screen, and there's often too much of a delay between attacking or turning. It's not super clear when enemies are dangerous or not, and the invincibility frames aren't long enough so by the time you react you often get hit twice. Some levels don't let you backtrack, a cheap jab to force you to play the level again for 100% completion. I stopped playing at the stampede level, as that was a lazy cliche taken from Crash Bandicoot. It had potential to be acceptable, but as it is, it's entirely skippable, I'd give it around 45%.

    I played it once at a children's hospital I was treated at when I was younger. To me, it's meh.

    I never watched the Disney Tarzan movie and the first time ive seen this game i just thought meh another mediocre platformer. But it is fun for one playthrough.
    Though as far as N64 2d platformers go nothing can beat Mischief Makers.
    Anyways i didnt know it got a big box release. I kind of want that... but if its really that rare and expensive my girlfriend would probably kill me... >_
