  • This is by far the best explained PrePass video for bypassing weigh stations for truckers on RUclips. Learn about how, where and when you can use the PrePass system to your advantage. Learn about the Rules for bypassing a weigh station and what the weigh stations are screening your truck for.
    Weigh Station screening sites:
    - Phase 1 Site: Credential Screenings only.
    - Phase 1+ Sites: Credential Screenings and Carrier Compliance
    - Phase 2 Sites: Credential Screening and Weigh-In-Motion Screening
    - Phase 3 Sites: Credential Screening, WIM, and Carrier Compliance.
    Rules for bypassing
    1. Drivers must operate their vehicles safely and adhere to the size, height and weight regulations of each state where they travel. They must also carry valid operating credentials at all times.
    2. Drivers must pull into any weigh station, inspection location or port-of-entry when their vehicle’s PrePass transponder displays a red light or fails to emit a signal as they approach. All vehicles are also subject to random pull-ins.
    3. Drivers must pull into all open weigh stations, inspection locations and ports-of-entry if their vehicle’s cargo is identified in any of the bypass restrictions for the state where they are traveling. Failure to comply may result in fines and increased pull-in rates. (I believe this refers to some agricultural trucks and oversize loads)
    4. Drivers must only have one PrePass-issued transponder installed in their vehicle. The installed transponder must match the vehicle’s transponder assignment on record with the PrePass Service Center.
    5. Drivers must use the lanes designated for PrePass users when approaching a PrePass location
    6. Drivers must pull into all non-PrePass open weigh stations, inspection locations and ports-of-entry.

    What if I get a green light on my transponder but the Electronic signal boards tell me to exit to the weight station, what do I do in this case? Am I clear of bypassing if I get pulled over by an officer?

      @c14rider5 6 месяцев назад +1

      I had that happen in North Carolina. I pulled in just to be safe and told the officer I was a bit confused over it. Turns out the road sensors flagged a possible flat tire on the trailer so I was pulled in. Tires and paperwork checked and I was on my way again.

      Honestly, it would drive me crazy too. Prepass say 15 min on their website, but i haven't had any experience with them so i just said what i found. Maybe you can adjust how long it stays lit, I don't know

      @@trxexpress have no idea? It came like that with mine :) I find the lights harder to see on the PrePass Elite as they are smaller on a white background.

      I get the freaking red light EVERY time. I assume that is because I am always running within a few hundred pounds of Max Gross.

    Having a pre pass in the truck makes it a whole lot harder to blow past the scale. Even if you are completely blacked out in the middle of the night, doing 100+mph, they can know exactly who you are. To counter this, make sure to wrap your prepass in several layers of aluminum foil or tin foil to block the signal. Once you blow the scale, just make sure you can make it to the state line before the chase car can catch up.😂
