Great video. I thought that it was rather small when I first unboxed it as well. It’s really helpful because now I know exactly what to do from start to finish
Thanks, man. I've been spending $30-40 a week on ice for my cold plunges, but this will pay for itself in a hurry!
Thanks for the breakdown! This was super helpful! Cheers!
Im also spending lots on ice for plunges. Did you end up getting this?
Thank you so much i couldn’t find anywhere where to drain the machine and thanks to your video I was able to do it fast! Thank you again!
I’m pretty sure I have this exact machine. Never could get it to work. Been in my garage. Something isn’t hooked up right on mine. Gonna give it another look. Great video
Mine is still running great. Give it another go!
Hi there! Well, based on your positive feedback and nice messages, I went ahead and bought a very similar model. It's the Commercial Ice Maker Machine - OYLUS 70 lbs/24H Stainless Steel Ice Cube Machine. A little less capacity than yous. So far, so good. The drain bucket is fine, and I used bottled water. The only bad thing was the door arrived broken. Not a necessary part for it to work. I'm only turning on, making a bunch of ice, freezing and then turning off.
Thanks for your help and messages!
Awesome. Good luck with it! Mines been a fun conversation piece at gatherings
Good show and information
This video is exactly what I was hoping to find. I was hoping these machines can use those jugs because our water is terrible where I live. I also was hoping to see how you set one up and that was very informative. Great video.
Awesome. Happy to help!
I like the role play at the end haha
😂😂 Finally some love for Cammy. 🔥🔥
@@GreggAdventure what ice maker would you recommend for chik-fil-a type ice
This is the first portable clear-ice maker I've seen that actually has a drain line for the melting ice! I have the New Air clear ice maker, and like many other countertop models the water from the melting ice just gets recirculated. Now, a true commercial ice maker (or built-in residential) model has to drain the remaining water from the tray (or overflow the trough, depending on the model) after each cycle because making clear ice leaves behind minerals and impurities since pure water freezes first. My model (and probably this one) will continue to build up minerals in the left over water (even as more water is added) and the ice will become less and less clear and more white like you'd get out of a regular refrigerator or ice trays. Simply draining the water and letting it fill up again gives crystal clear ice again. Was wondering if this model also has the capability of draining the water between each cycle automatically especially if it connected to a water source?
Also, does the cleaning cycle mention using a Nickel-safe cleaner? That will also be needed to dissolve the buildup of mineral deposits (vinegar works too in these small portable models) in the system?
The main drain is open always. There is a small reservoir that circulates the water back to the ice grid, while making. it has a small rubber plug, to drain it. It holds very little little, so isn't much of an issue. I'm not sure about the cleaner...
@@GreggAdventure Thanks. These look like some really nice machines!
I just signed up for his future post , seems like a cool cat.
Thank u. I try! 💯
That double layer protective film is no joke, if you want to get it all off, you have to remove the sides and front and top, waiting 24 hours to attempt to make ice now
omg, the struggle is real!
@@GreggAdventure have ours plumbed to water and drain now, this ice maker is awesome
Thank you, that helped!
Several issues, at least as far as I (or my setup) am/is concerned: first, it appears to make white ice. My freezer already does that. If I pay for an icemaker, it better make clear ice. Second, it comes with a drain line but markets itself as free-standing. Where am I supposed to run this drain line into? If it were made to be installed under a counter, I could run it into the under-sink drain. Third, for the money, is that a) really enough ice and b) sufficient holding time for the ice it does make? Thanks for the video and I hope those that get this will be happy with it, but it isn't for me.
love mine. Sometimes have it make ice for 24hrs straight over holidays. It's not Fill-your-cooler Output, but it's Ice for your entire parties drinks Output.
The White is likely air. My ice it totally clear.
I out a small Jug next to it, and stick the hose in it. Sometimes I crack a window and slip it out that. Some peeps run it to a sink.
I find the ice holds well, long as it's still running
All the Ice-Makers I've seen look very similar.. Euhomy, hOmeLabs Freestanding, *COOLLIFE* Ice Maker.. I assume the installation should be the same?
Is the Euhomy bin refrigerated or does the ice start to melt as soon as it goes in the bin? Can you select the ice-cube size (I assume smaller is faster)?
How many gallons does it take to fill up the bin completely?
How do you select the water supply (i.e. top bottle or water line)? Does it automatically shut off when the water bottle runs out or does it keep pumping? How much energy (electricity cost) does it use in a month?
BTW, do you need a water filter in line? Is there maintenance required.. for example, how often do you have to clean it?
They are all kinda similar
It stops if water runs out
No filter
2 sizes of ice available
No freezer. Ice will melt. It's insulated, like a cooler
felicidades muy practico y util
I've got the same but mine doesn't freeze? Have I got the water coming in to fast ? What have I done wrong can you help ?
I'm confused, you say the dimensions are 13x16x25, the link to product in your description says 15.96"D x 17.52"W x 31.3"H.
It's possible they changed the model.
How has the long term quality been? I have seen some reviews that complain about flaking of the metal plating on the metal ice forms after long term ownership (not this brand but similar.)
So far, it's still working well. I don't use it terribly often, but, I do use it, and it hasn't shown any sign of this, yet.
nice video man!
Thanks!
Do you have a tutorial on how to clean it?
I also would like to know how to clean the machine
Sorry for missing this. It has a clean cycle you can initiate. run some dishsoap through it, and start the clean cycle
Thanks man. Don’t forget to tip that excellent waitress. Great video.
😂😂😂 I'll shower her is Dolla Bills!
Does this machine keep the ice frozen? Or do u have to bag it and put it in your freezer?
There is no "freezer" in this machine. It will stay for a while, then melt. It's meant for use during a period where the ice will be used.
@@GreggAdventure thanks
use white vinegar with ur water to clean it out then cycle out the vinegar smelling water .
Yup. Same as Coffee machines
Good step by step. How much water does this drain? Is the bucket method working OK, or should it be into a drain pipe?
Drain is best, but a small container has been fine for me. It melts slowly. Really depends on how much ice you'll be making, and for how long
@@GreggAdventure Thanks! I will probably do like in other comments and responses...make ice..freeze in ziplock bags.....turn off...make more ice as needed. Thanks for getting back to me so quick! It's Friday - have a great weekend!!!
My Mother loves to fill up Gallon Ziplock bags with ice. Great way to do it. But.... For parties, let it run, for the Cool Factor!
My wife's ice machine in her coffee shop keeps melting the ice every 10 minutes she's using the ice in it constantly and it melts when she needs the ice is there a mode where we can turn that off or set it for a longer time frame
Does the machine keep the ice from melting?
Sorta…. Its stays cold due to the ice, so it melts slowly. But, it is not refrigerated.
How do you get the water out? Mine is hooked up to a drain line but I can't get the water to go down. Could the filter be clogged?
Hmmmm, mine just runs right out the hole in the back. Your water is sitting in the ice bin? Or the water bin? The water bin has a rubber plug in the bottom
It’s in both. I unplugged the rubber plug and it added water into the ice bin. (It’s shut off and unplugged at the moment.)
This was professionally installed 4 years ago. It would cost more to get them out to my house again than the machine itself cost! I think that I need to change the filter - and the drain line is probably clogged.
@user-ob2ns4ok4p yep, when done making ice, drain it into the ice been, then out of the ice bin (should be a hole in back corner of ice bin, with a drain hose attached
With no soap wonder how good it cleans its self?? My igloo counter top ice maker is quick to get black mold showing up..
It's more of a rinse. Will def want to keep it dry between use and rinse with light bleach to kill the mold
Does the ice melt or is it a freezer compartment? Does it recirculate the melted ice to make more ice? I don’t have a drain and I want to leave the machine running around the clock but go some days without using any ice at all.
Not a freezer compartment, but, it's insulated, so the ice keeps it cold inside, and it lasts a LONG time. There is a Drain, with a drain tube. I keep a container at the end of the tube, to catch the water that melts, and drains out.
@@GreggAdventure So it does not recirculate the water. The drain must be in use?
Right. When The Ice melts, and the water goes down a drain hole.
It makes ice quickly. There is little need to leave it running when not in use
@@GreggAdventure I use it for tie dye so my use is sporadic. Thanks for answering my questions.
Great video and yeah I’m poor so that said - how much do these cost please ?
$400ish
Can you hook up a hose instead of a big tank on top
Yes!
The video is so great!!! thank you, friend
Awesome, took me an entire day. Glad you like it! :)
Were can I buy one ?
Link in description. Model may have changed since posted this.
How much po at how many kg ang magawa nya sa isang araw po?
The holes to drain out the water is it separate then the one used to comment it to the water line ?
yes, it's a dedicated drain line
I bought a smaller Ice maker and could have almost bought one of these models for the amount I paid for mine. Unfortunately the smaller ice maker that I purchased from Amazon has been a complete disaster. The ice maker constantly leaks and I cannot always get the motor to turn on. I’ve only had the ice maker for 10 months I wish I would’ve bought one of these 🙁
Crud, that sucks. So sorry to hear. Pester the company for a replacement or return.
@@GreggAdventure Thanks Gregg that’s exactly what I’m trying now I just hope they do the write thing.
The little black thing in the water storage compartment, I have a bit of a different ice maker but it looks similar. Is that supposed to hook up to anything or just stay stagnat in that place? Mine isn't screwed into the machine its got little suction cups. Please I need help!
Can I see it? It may be a water pump
@@GreggAdventure i figured it out! It was the compressor that pumps the water into the top of the ice maker splitter to make the ice! Thank you anyways sir
That's what I said! 😜😜
Hi Greg, I have a similar machine but it uses only the water pipe. M struggling with it as it doesn’t feed water to the tray, do you myb hv an idea of wat the issue could be?
Check inside for a cutoff valve. It should be a little handle that you turn to be parallel to the line
Do you know why the icemaker to get cold but not make any ice
Is it possible, you have the water Valve closed? It's INSIDE the compartment, I show it in my video.
I ordered mine and it came cracked and isn't getting cold. They are refusing to refund. Telling me to remove back panel and look at the motherboard?! Packaging didn't do much to protect mine. Front of the machine was cracked
Talk to Amazon via chat support. No way they will let that fly.
Hey Greg, how do you adjust the ice production speed? Thank you.
You don't. It just keeps making.
My machine isn't making ice cubes what is the problem?
is the water flowing? Did you open the ball valve?
How quickly do you go through a bottle of water? (How much ice the bottle make)?
I can't really say, but, I just refill the bottle, and put it back in. I usually only fill about 1/3 to 1/2, and it makes a LOT of ice.
Water weighs 8lbs per gallon so the old what weighs more 1 gallon of water or 8lbs of ice? If you are befuddled. they are the SAME
Not good broken 1 week. Anyone know why air doesn’t go into bollle
Is the cut off switch open, inside on the water line? It's a lever that turns
Our label are in some Asian language? We aren't what we are adjusting?
Could you please list all the commercial certifications for this unit? UL, ETL, NSF etc. Thank you!
I don’t have that information. I can try to get it..
Bought one and didn’t last . Replaced water pump in a month. Machine turned off by itself . Later wouldn’t make ice .
Wow. That sucks. Talk to them about it. Maybe will replace it. mine running strong
@@GreggAdventure no customer service and Not NSF certified.
Which pump did you buy because mine wont pump
Sounds accurate
I didn't.... Using as it came
how do i fix an E3 error code ?
E3 means the ice box is full
Cuanto cuesta esa Maki a de ice?
$400
;ow to use the + and - buttons
My machine isn't making ice cubes what is the problem
No support
FOR THE PRICE, I JUST GOING TO FILL UP ICE TRAYS! I can make ice bigger, faster and more of it. its just not worth it! 👎
This thing pumps out allot of ice. But, Also, the small size is great for drinks, but, whatever works. 👍🏻
@@GreggAdventure yep 😉 i might have bought one, if it stored the ice from melting. But 250 dollars? just making ice NO WAY
No you can’t. But go ahead and spend time trying.
@@tikitorturedmf Yes You Can. What i do any way! Beside who wants water down ice? I want my ice frozen Hard
Do you think a 8x12 cold plate would fit in storage compartment ?
I'd have to measure, but maybe no...
@@GreggAdventure Thank you it needs to be 12 1/4 by 8 1/4 i have been trying to find one for months but manufacturers dont respond
