The problem is that Lenovo are like many companies now, they don't have experienced/skilled repair people who can diagnose and repair a fault, instead they have semi-skilled workers following a set of instructions.
I have lenovo thinkpad (L470 series). I am facing the same issue. Must be a problem in motherboard and can't fix it. Motherboard is very expensive and I just can't take the risk to change it. I mean What if I change the motherboard and same issue happens again. 😳
My lenovo Yoga 730 freezes when it's plugged to a power adapter. I think because while its plugged my laptop switches to the Geforce GTX GPU rather than the internal GPU. I guess it's my Geforce is faulty.
RESOLVED - I just wanted to report that I recently sent this laptop back to Lenovo for repair. Whilst it took 2 repair attempts, they ultimately replaced the system board (which I assume means the whole motherboard), and it is fixed. No more freezing - it’s a great laptop now!
Luciana The laptop is still working now (no more freezing) 5 months after the repair where they replaced the system board. When it was repaired, it was still within the 3 year warranty, and there were no charges.

Interesting, I picked up a new T14 i7 today and have had the same thing happen at least 3 times. I have initially suspected driver issues as it needed to update. I will now watch and see if this happens again.
Mine's similar except it freezes with a turned off screen when I try to bring it back from windows lock (normally after lunch). Except that I don't move it.
I have the same problem. But sometimes I experience this just by not picking it up. It happens when I’m doing work on it or if it sits for a little bit unattended, but also plugged in.
I think the issue is mainly due to a conflict between the RAM & CPU. It depends on the RAM frequency, I changed my RAM to a 2400 Mhz ram instead of the 2666Mhz one. I will test the machine for few days, I hope it resolves the issue.
Mine is doing the exact same thing. to be honest I've had the problem for a while now and just put up with it until now. It doesn't randomly freeze while you use it, the freezing only happens when the laptop is put down and and suddenly not used.
@@Mil-zu9qv I managed to fix it for a few days just by updating the graphics driver. but it's still doing it. I think it may be a loose internal cable. My think pad has other issues though with the back cover screws so I haven't got around to fixing it properly.
so annoying, mine does this too all the time. sometimes weeks with no problems then bam, freezes multiple times in one day. btw, i don't think this has anything to do with holding or moving the laptop. it's literally just random. this laptop is my workstation and i spend 8+ hours per day and have encountered probably 50 freezes over the past year. laptop is stationary on my desk. should have returned to IT for replacement but now i'm rolling off project in a couple of months, so i just deal with it.
You should send it back as soon as you can. Lenovo is sending out laptops with defective chipsets in their motherboards. Thats why the computer is freezing. I have the same issue with my "new" x1 nano which i bought from lenovo's website. I was able to complete the diagnostic test without the computer freezing. Im going to print the diagnostic test and put it in the packaging when they send it. If they dont send me a new computer without a defective motherboard im not buying Lenovo ever again. I paid for express shipping as I needed the computer quickly now I have to wait 10 fucking days for them to get their shit together after paying 1500 dollars for a computer and solving the diagnostic issue.
My trackpoint freezes intermittently and lenovo dont help happened within a month of owing it and 11 months of ownership still does it China owned company now and they dont give a shit In the IBM days they were better Bye bye Lenovo

Actually I encountered the pressure-applying issue as well. So I guess it is a hardware problem.

My Lenovo x240 was working fine but is now doing the same! Lenovo should speak up in the issue.
Each time I have had to reboot. Very inconvenient.
