1. Every song title includes a word or phrase he never actually says in the song
2. Most of the tags you hear throughout the album are inspired by early 2010's trap music ("Damn Son, Where'd You Find This?")
3. The sound effects (lion roar, glass breaking, etc.) are just Pi'erre's signature SFX commonly heard all throughout his work, especially on Playboi Carti's Die Lit
4. Romeo Must Die is titled after the 2000 film of the same name starring Jet Li, Aaliyah, and DMX
5. The Life of Pi'erre series was initially made to get Kanye's attention
6. He mentions Grammys a few times on the album, he later ended up winning a Grammy for his work on Jesus is King by Kanye West
7. Guillotine is Kanye West's favorite song on the album (I believe Pi'erre said this in a Kids Take Over interview)
8. SossHouse is Pi'erre's record label
9. Drake was supposed to be featured on Poof, and also Drunk And Nasty off TLOP5, both Pi'erre's biggest songs to date, yet both features never came to fruition

The Life of Pierre 4 defines Pierre's sound. I'm not saying it's his best album, but, it definitely is the best way to get into him. I love that you reacted to this and helped me notice things about it that I couldn't even from four years ago!

This is legit an all time favorite album of mine. To this day I wish Pierre Bourne could produce a soundtrack for a video game, something like sonic the hedgehog. The beats on this are so whimsical and colorful, it really takes me to a different place.
Pierres lyrics were not my shit at first but after some time I would catch slick and creative bars. They’re simple but so memorable

I think they don't end up together - I think its: Pierre is a star now and when he met his ex love again, she was nothing more than a fan (or groupie) to him and when she realized the past and the hold she had over him completely faded, she blew him up with calls to no avail and the "now you gotta listen all the time, when you don't wanna - now you hearing "Yo Pierre" when you wake up in the morning" is about him being omnipresent online and on the radio etc so she's always confronted with a constant reminder of him through media but has no way to reconnect with him...

Now that you're familiar with his sound you'll appreciate his production way more on die lit, and a good segue to carti's self titled tape where he produced a lot of songs there.

So glad you had fun with this one, love this album. Loved your analysis. Pi'erre might drop some goofy lines here and there, but he's so great at creating these truly unique soundscapes and atmospheres on his albums. One of the more important producers in hiphop in the last ten years.
I hope in the future you do TLOP4 Deluxe (its a whole separate album packaged as a deluxe, feels like a sequel, arguably an even better album), and TLOP5. Super happy that you liked the album!!!

TLOP 4 for some reason brings me back to my childhood playing PS2. Maybe it’s the feeling idk. All of the tv show, video game references are so good. The sound bites are so much fun and takes you back to early 2000s mixtapes 😅

The way your mind works is just so damn beautiful/interesting, you can connect sounds that you wouldn’t even think about and you just bring up really cool and interesting concepts and ideas to talk about. The way u analyze music is just so cool to see
idk if you plan on doing it any time soon but Testing by ASAP Rocky is defo worth checking out, very interesting and i always loved it but it kinda got slammed by the public for how different it was
don't think it was slammed purely for being "different" - agreed the experimentation in sound is nice but it doesn't always land, the whole thing is a bit inconsistent imo

One of my favorite albums, I personally enjoy the Deluxe version of TLOP4. Because it has 3 songs that I always listen to in order "Sossgirl, Sossboy and Deja Vu". I'm so happy you gave Pi'erre a chance, most people won't because they only see him as a producer but he's so talented as an artist as well.

It was a very special time in my life discovering Playboi Carti and Pierre Bourne music back to back. The production is just incredible. Pierre’s rapping leaves something to be desired at times but it’s never truly off putting or ruins the vibes of the song.
Please make a video on the deluxe ! It was originally Tlop5 but he changed it to the Deluxe for personal reasons. ITs a whole ass other album not just a deluxe and the transitions on the deluxe are next level ! The deluxe is just as good as the regular album. It has my favorite songs of his on it tho. Def deserves a reaction !
