This is completely random, but I got in a near death accident while listening to your Graduation reaction about 2 weeks ago. The roads were icy and I lost control of the steering wheel. My car jumped the ditch, went into the other lane. Luckily, no other car was there. I was going fast enough to die. I'm glad I got to finish listening to your reaction and that I'm alive!
jid originally wanted kendrick on off deez but kendrick was on tour at the time so he couldnt record for it so then he asked ski mask the slump god but he never got around to it and then he finally landed on cole
Not sure if anyone has commented on this, but, skrawberries has "Larry Fisherman" listed as a producer... Larry Fisherman is one of Mac Millers musical alter egos, more so his Jazz side.
I saw him live this summer and when he performed Skrawberries, the whole crowd yelled the infamous haunted house line, after which he stopped the song and jokingly said "I can't believe you actually said that" 😆His show was amazing and seeing his skills live was an absolute treat for my soul. Loved your reaction Bob, I'm glad you can listen to Working Out non stop now too ;) Make sure to also check out his Tiny Desk performance!
Working out is my fave jid song. Its relatable and it shows jid's range with his rapping and singing. the flows, lyricism and production. the colors version is so good!
Since you mentioned Ministry, a band I recognized the name of because of the Aesop Rock song Blood Sandwich, I gotta recommend the Impossible Kid album from him
Every song plays off of the previous one. If you think of the concept of medicating to deal with the emotions, 'Mounted Up' is JID while he's experiencing this high to suppress his pain while 'Just da Other Day' is the hangover and aftermath.
Heads up about one of the productions credits: “Larry Fisherman” is Mac Miller! He used that alias when he produced songs for other people, and he served as the executive producer for this album around the same time he was making Swimming and Circles. RIP Mac, he could’ve been making world shifting music if he was still here
"Feeling Kermit" would mean like the somewhat more popular term "Feelin froggy?" As in skiddish or amped up in a confrontation. Theres lines like "you feeling froggy? Leap". Hope that makes more sense.
I would love to see you react to Earl Sweatshirts lastest album Voir Dior, I think it's called its sound so beautiful. I love everything you and I hope that everything that you do is the best for you and everyone around, and keep up everything your doing, love you man.
21:38 The kermit does also relate to frogs but also I think it might relate to that one viral video of a Kermit plush falling off the roof of a building
Workin out is one of my favorite songs from JID, it’s meant to represent all the ways workin out can be used… such life isn’t workin out, the girl started working out(gym), and she got a new job and he’s asking how’s it “workin out”. Love the reaction, hopefully Saba Care for Me is still on your radar, been waiting for that review for a minute.
Very unique album. Part mixtape/album. JID delivery was a breath of fresh air of rappers coming out that time. The only recent album that surprises me Ike this one did is Scaring The Hoes.
Fun fact you probably didn't know about, when J. Cole said "Tell the grass doesn't grow and the wind doesn't blow and the po po don't kill ___ no more" He's actually referencing a Native american saying. "As long as the sun shines, the river flows and the grass grows" Witch means the Native land (Aka reserves) will exist tell the sun stops shining, the river stops flowing and the grass stops growing.
151 to Workin Out is the best three track run of his discography. Also to me, this project feels like a total mixed bag of different ideas. Some of these tracks are absolutely fantastic while the rest kinda felt like ones he just wanted to get rid of. I feel like the latter half of the project doesn’t match the first half at all.
"pen so sharp you thought i forged it" not really referring to anyone specifically, just a clean double entendre. pen so sharp thought i forged it referring to forging a blade because its sharp, as well as the surface meaning of thinking his lines are forged bc theyre so sharp
I believe the reason for him screaming in her face and the later line that she is repeating him like a parrot on 'Skrawberries' is a continuation of 'Tiiied' with the girl repeating JID's argument back to him. It implies that 'Tiiied' is mostly his side of the argument.
You should listen to Spillage Village, specifically their album "Spilligion". Its a group with JID and Earthgang and more, beautiful music, similar to "Workin Out" on this album by JID
@@derbistheeternal2947btw I think Bob should react to Labor Days and then The Impossible Kid if he cant do None Shall Pass. I know Bob will get confused with Aesop lyrics lol
Definitely enjoy this album more than his others. His others feel too overwhelming for my years to listen to from front to back. Cant explain it much better
Jid is #5 on my top 5 rn for sure. My list is billy woods, Jpegmafia, MF DOOM, Del the Funky Homosapien, and JID. U gotta do more woods and DOOM! Ka too for that matter.

Larry Fisherman is actually Mac Miller! he’s one of the producers on Skrawberries !!

The fact that Just da Other Day and Hasta Luego are so underated!!!
This whole album feels like a greatest hits album it’s wild
I completely agree with what you said about JID x Metro, it literally has to be illegal for them to have a collab album😭
Larry Fisherman was Mac Miller's producer pseudonym.
I love JID he’s so unique I’m glad he’s getting his flowers now with surround sound popping off

I do hate the fast rapping sometimes as well. But off deez is just crazy. all these years later and I still come back to it.
