His boy recorded it because he was fired up. Keef saw it and liked it sampled it for his debut. Hes actually had that kid come on and perform the intro before he does Love Sosa live a few times. As a major chief keef fan, I was definitely tweakin when you started off unsure with his music lol. Glad you opened up to it all. Yes, Chief Keef is considered drill, but he's also thrown under trap and other genres as well. If you listen to more of his music though, you would be surprised how versatile and experimental he is. And these versatility/experiential differences are easily heard in his "sound". Each album will be different from the last and in each of those albums, he will stay consistent to the current sound he is experiementing with, while typically having a song or 2 that doesn't quite fit in. So I think you would find it facinating how an artist can change his sound so much, while lyrically, staying within a range of what he usually raps about. He does grow lyrically too, but his real growth is with his sound. He eventually starts producing his own beats which helps with that also.

Considering ive lived a life that always had chief keef in it (when i was younger my favorite uncle's favorite artist was chief keef) this was so amazing to see a first time chief keef listen. I was surprised heavily you liked laughing to the bank i know you would have been pissed at its repetitiveness a while back and also really glad you like citgo thats one my favorites, he deserves more love in my opinion

Great reaction, I’m pretty sure the voice in the opening sketch is someone talking about chief keef, also drill music is really just gangster/murder raps (at least to my knowledge)

Thanks for giving this album a chance, I'd say Chief Keef is my favorite musical artist and its really cool to see someone unlike me give their new perspective on something I've heard countless times
Honestly, love sosa is a classic but id be lying if I said it even scratched my top 30 Chief Keef songs. I also prefer Halleluiah. Once you get used to his voice, you start liking the songs with weirder production. Once it clicks, it really clicks. On spotify I have 231 songs of his liked, and every time I look back at an old album of his, 5 more join the club. This combination of production, catalog, passion, and just pure fun (you can hear it in the music) cements him at my #1 spot.

most rappers mention their kids in their songs and not the "baby mamas", and most all of them do not have sole custody of them. Keef was just a kid himself here and had his first daughter, which probably changed his life at the time, but now he has like 9 kids so...

I dont know how much you know about Drill Music. But its definitely the most controversial subgenre of rap. Unlike gangsta rap from the 80s and 90s which was probably just as controversial back then drill music contains specific crimes being mentioned and Chief Keef and the chicago drill movement started dissing their " opp s " people from enemy gangs. I see it as problematic but its a part of their environement But I think you should atleast know what they talk about or rather who they diss .Drill music has developed insanely from chicago into other countries to the UK and other US Cities. I suggest you go a little bit more into the beef of the gangs to understand when they diss dead people and you learn about the lingo and history of drill music over the years. I cant wait for xou to hear pop smoke and King Von.

Hey Bob, I would definitely recommend alternative trap by lucki, it's his debut album and a complete 180 from his current music. Very psychedelic and lyric-heavy and even reminds of Asap rocky at times but it definitely has its own lane. It's very interesting to see his growth.

As a chicagoan, im grateful u listened.
Also, is it just me, or is being lyrical always going to mean less energy(not as in a bad way). This is cuz, I feel like youll never get a song like i dont like that will ever have the same lyrical content of a samidot. Yeah, you can get energetic while being lyrical, but I feel like it will never have the purest rawest energy of something like chief keefs music. Not a bad thing cuz I love both kinds of music, but just a thought.
