The intro is legendary. Someone probably already mentioned it but, that was not Keef on the intro to Love Sosa. That was just a fan talking shit in a car while chilling with his friends. His boy recorded it because he was fired up. Keef saw it and liked it sampled it for his debut. Hes actually had that kid come on and perform the intro before he does Love Sosa live a few times. You can find it on here.
Never understood why this is considered drill this is just trap music, pop smoke and fivio are drill artists but those beats are influenced from the uk
because the UK Drill artists started calling their music Drill long after Chicago Drill…Keef was influenced by Waka Flocka / 808 Mafia Sound…UK/Global Drill is influenced by Chicago Drill in subject matter…
It's insane how influential this album is coming from a 16 year old rapper. Basically paved the way for chicago drill / trap and then you have songs like Citgo who were HATED on released and end up being the norm with all the souncloud rappers doing Cloud rap and even rappers like Carti in a sense..
No matter how much he says he isnt gonna change in his songs if you actually followed him you would know that he did change he is one of the few rappers from his generation that is still here. He cares about his music and staying out of trouble and he has succeeded on that for the most part lol
It’s funny because he really did change he’s become much more obscure and hidden now but doesn’t lead the same life he did. One of the only artists from this genre in Chicago who survived this long sadly. One of the most influential artists of the last 10 years.
As a major chief keef fan, I was definitely tweakin when you started off unsure with his music lol. Glad you opened up to it all. Yes, Chief Keef is considered drill, but he's also thrown under trap and other genres as well. If you listen to more of his music though, you would be surprised how versatile and experimental he is. And these versatility/experiential differences are easily heard in his "sound". Each album will be different from the last and in each of those albums, he will stay consistent to the current sound he is experiementing with, while typically having a song or 2 that doesn't quite fit in. So I think you would find it facinating how an artist can change his sound so much, while lyrically, staying within a range of what he usually raps about. He does grow lyrically too, but his real growth is with his sound. He eventually starts producing his own beats which helps with that also.
I wouldnt even consider finally rich a drill album besides a couple songs.. his old tapes were.. and a few of his tapes after finally rich were but finally rich isnt really drill imo
Not trap. Y’all throw that word around way too loosely lol. Trap is to Atlanta what drill is Chicago. It’s very regional and specific. Y’all think like Lil Uzi is trap music lmfao
I'd recommend checking out the Katy Perry and Chief Keef debacle about Keef's song "Hate Being Sober." After both parties quickly made amends, it lead to Chief Keef sampling her on his song "Save Me" which happens to be an incredible beat production wise.
