Licensing might be an issue, but take the NFS route. Model the shapes of the parts after real ones, but just don't brand it. NFS kills it with their customization, even though they have customization from one type of era (2010 - 2020s based customization)

That's just unreasonable. The game was too easy in the past because they would throw money and cars at you for having a pass or playing a previous game. This just makes other progress you've made irrelevant when you switch vehicles.
It's ridiculous to think people making this feature thought It was a good idea for the game to be more enjoyable. Carlists grow so fast we usually don't even get a chance to drive them all, now we have even less of a reason to do so. They wanna put an emphasis on building our cars, give us control of our car on a test track where we can add/remove/adjust our car without loading screen or start/stop session shit.
@@recklesscanyonrider5636 ....you joined the forza bandwagon late huh? This was how the games original campaign used to be. Just less restrictive. it is a nod to the days of old, and an attempt to bring back passionate racing with cars you love.....not just buying a bone shaker, and slapping on the latest AWD meta tune. Also, I Do not know how anyone is not driving at least half of the cars in the game. There is such a vast variety of things to do in the game that that incentivize trying different cars out. The whole point of forza vista and cockpit view was to promote wanting to get behind the wheel/select different cars. Playground modes, drifting lobbies, different class hoppers, time trials, hot lapping, drag racing. They all call for a variety of different kinds of cars, different engine combinations. In other words, if all of those facets of the game did not inspire you to explore the options available to you, you did yourself a huge disservice. The game is amazing simply based on the level of customization and variety. Literally every build can be unique in its own way.
The 360 games had the best looking Forza aero. A black boxy wing that, when attached to, say, an M3 or a Pontiac G8, _actually made it look like a GT or Trans Am car._
I'm glad that a well-known RUclipsr is raising this serious issue. While Forza keeps insisting that this is a new-generation game, it's actually filled with old content, models that should be retired, and the hated Aero Kit. But I think what's even worse is that a bunch of players think it's not a big deal, or even think we don't need to care about the appearance of the car.😮💨😮💨
Thank you call them out on the shortcuts. It’s worked for Diablo and destiny so far to where the devs had to say something. Thank god this is on gamepass so if it’s not as good i didn’t really lose out on anything
Like with everything, cheapest bid, the higher up who say, "Well we already paid for the rights to use the model.. why get a new one?" Need for Speed STILL had the Challenger concept car in their games while the Hellcat existed. lol
Or they could just make their own or just make 2-3 sets available for all or the majority of cars. NFS and Gran Turismo have done or have been doing this. It's frustrating because I have no frjvxvdh idea why that's so difficult.😂
They should at least bring back the old forza wing from the 360 era. They have the models and have no problems with using near 20 year old models. The old forza wing in some cases actually looks good, while the current forza wing never seems to look good.
Dude, the fact that upgrading the exhaust doesn’t change the exhaust look is stupid to me. They’re so lazy, that only a few cars can change the look on the exhaust tip by changing the bumper
I'm jealous of ps gamers with GT, ESPECIALLY with VR!! I just always disliked the way the camera makes it look like the cars standstill and the maps moving like the old arcade games.
What's really funny about the initial trailer is them choosing to showcase the lancer shows they thought it was the best model they had to show in a trailer.
Quality over quantity. I would prefer to have like 30 Cars and 5 racing series from the beginning after game purchase than having hundres of cars that drive and sound the same -.-
Why can't they just do what they did in fh1 and fm4 in terms of progression where you start out with economy cars and low credit rewards. Then as you level up you get more credits and better cars over time. I swear it's like they forgot what made their old games good and what actual progression is in a racing game
Exactly. If you look closely, the carpg system is the only new feature in terms of gameplay. The stuff they've put into the new practice session is all stuff that you used to do in the old games just alongside the race. I think those who are celebrating this upgrade system at the moment will quickly realise that it gets boring pretty quickly to grind each car individually.
I wish you could talk to the devs directly and provide them your feedback. You make some solid points and have constructive criticism that you should share with the developers.
I recently played through Nexomon Extinction, a Pokemon style game, and it really highlighted to me how Forza is taking a single element of those games and mistakenly thinking it will help their game to include that one element when all the other elements aren't there. Fortunately, it will probably be possible to AFK level up cars in FM if it has the same auto steering as FH5, and the devs will probably be quietly happy for players to do that, as it all racks up their time played stats.
They still do simplified geometry with a smudge texture on the wheels once they move. Know when GT stopped doing that? 2007, in GTPrologue. Also, many mobile games even do actual rotational blur
Another thing that bugs the shit out of me, the transition is so terrible & has been for years. Gran Turismo visuals have been the standard for years, & it looks like they'll continue to be.
If they keep the car points system, I'm definitely going to be passing this game. I appreciate finally rebuilding their physics, supposedly, to be much more realistic, but I frequently jump between cars. I play through the career and then like to experiment a lot. Sometimes trying out multiple cars a day. I'm not spending 3-5 hours trying to unlock everything so I can tune it and see what it could be. Like you said, it feels like an artificial way to extend game time for everyone. Which sucks, because if they truly rebuild a lot of the game to be more realistic, that alone could really extend the game's life and bring out a ton of game time (for me and my relatively small group of friends at least)
I play FM7 and have literally never played any PvP or even the campaign. I just go into freeplay and select the car I want. Then I disable the drivatars cause the game pits an SLS against my Camaro cause I use my Horizon tune on it..... I've no interest in not being able to do up my cars until I grind it out. I like Forza cause I can just take the car I want and rag it around a track
Look at how bad the Nissan Silvia S15 looks in Forza compared to real life... It hurts that we have had to deal with that for so long, because either Forza Devs don't care or the community ignores it. Same thing with the Eclipse GSX in Forza - not as terrible as the Silvia S15 but the lines near the back window of the car are still too far back, throwing off the beautiful shape of the car. It really hurts something else when the cars you like look that ugly even in 2023 with a Triple A game that has a high budget.
When you consider that the cars they keep ignoring have the biggest cult following. I want to see the Evo VI with the real life body kits available, Veilside DTM wide kit, the Varis wide kit. They could even produce the Evo IV & V from a new VI car model very easily as it's the same chassis. I mean the V & VI are basically the same bar the front bumper & rear wing. Or even push the boat out & finally give us Evo I II & III.
I tell you one thing I would like to see for a change is when you change exhausts for arguments sake the tips at the back change depending on what you select like they do on gt7 instead of like all older forzas and even horizon where u install a race exhaust for arguments sake and all that changes is the sound not the visual exhaust as well if that makes sense
On the note of the car progression, i have no idea why they would even bother doing this??? Car upgrade progression only works for games with like 100 cars. I don't want to have to progress 500 cars individually. And god forbid i buy 2 of the same car to race one and drift the other and now i have to progress the same car twice. AND the progress off and online are different so now I have to do it again for online like why would they do that
When they say "ground up" it seems to pertain to the game engine (physics, rendering) but definitely not the assets like cars. Tracks seem like they're being redone, which is good. If this is a live service title, they should really have launched with just 100 cars and added more later. Do all of these cars from the "ground up". Add more every month giving people a reason to check the game out every month.
gran japismo devs had to scrap their car models because these were from the PS2 era. With 5 polygons and no interior. So it had to be done, and they haven't caught up yet. I mean, look at the outdated car list in gran japismo 7.
I will go crazy if this thing does not have 900 steering wheel animation, then I'll go buy a ps5 to play Gran Turismo lol Very good points you mentioned bro, nice video.
Finding out it requires a constant internet connection finally did it for me. Sitting this one out until they make some serious changes. I’m still enjoying FM7 anyway.
It's not laziness Theo. It's arrogance. This is what happens when your marketing team is better than the actual development team. All that drooling over rt reflections on car bodywork and remade tracks from the ground up, only serve to yield a result like this. The game looks pretty good, but nothing compared to what was shown publicly during the last two years. I want to see that new physics model with the 64x increase in fidelity they've been touting and boasting about. Where is it? Because comparing the last entry with this side by side, I don't see any noteworthy changes in how the physics behave, it's almost as if like looking at the exact same tire and vehicle physics. This is the stage where I'm genuinely concerned if what was initially promised, is what we'll eventually get.
I just want to know if fujimi kaido is gonna be in the game, would also love more point to point races. I do expect more & better stuff to be showed off when the game is a lot closer to release.
So based on the “progression” regarding upgrading cars they basically took a page off of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 page where they require you to use other different type of guns to unlock an upgrade for the fun you’re trying to use. Except here you’re forced to use that one car up to max level to unlock it’s upgrades. 🤔
Yeah, the new driver rating system and online racing is going to be the bread and butter. But im taking this game with extreme caution. Because i dont know how well that aspect of the game will work. Same old aero kits, no drift hud, and no drag racing at launch and the fact that this game had to be delayed and still has some concerns is well concerning. Im not pre ordering or buying this game at launch because i think they are going to treat it as a live service game. and use these tactics to bring back old racing tracks and cars and brand them as *new*
My guess is they won’t acknowledge any of this criticism and continue to use the old car models - Forza Horizon 5 employees have at least admitted they’ve done some stuff wrong, but Turn 10 haven’t said anything (from what I’ve seen) I would be very happy to see if they made a change. At this point, it almost seems like they’re doing stupid stuff on purpose because they know they can fix it quite easily and then become the “good guys” who listened
You say the game keeps looking different, but if you've ever gone outside at different times of the day it also always looks different... its called lighting lol. No excuse for the other issues, but that's how different lighting works and its accurate.
This is exactly why NFS Unbound's player base died so fast after the game launched. The grind to unlock new stuff and therefore experiment with builds was too long. Doesnt matter if they "fixed" it, because if you alienate the biggest fans, the Day 1 crowd, you're not winning them back.
I miss Forza Motorsport so much, I played them all since FM1, I also spent a lot of time on FM7 that is almost 6 years old Today and my biggest fear is that they have been so lazy as showed in the video and hope people will buy the game no matter what, just because of the nostalgia for the saga... I had huge hopes on this title before, but the more we get closer to release the more I'm scared it could be a flop...
@@HRM.H Yeah people are mainly looking at the visual quality of the game, they also have been inconstant with game quality during the year, some videos are looking good, other are looking flat and boring... I don't even know what to think at this point...
The marketing has been pretty terrible but what they've actually shown of gameplay improvements is genuinely great. The biggest complaints for past games has been the hypercasual ramfest of a multiplayer that desperately needed regulations, strategies, and qualifying. The complete lack of progression or ability to earn anything. And personally the physics were quite sluggish. They've fixed all of the above and more. I disliked motorsport 7, 4 is easily the best, and I was skeptical going in after all the talk about visuals, but the actual game seems awesome!
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M - qualifying in multiplayer. - Penalties for corner cutting and ramming. - Driver and safety ratings. - Tyre strategies, proper fuel consumption, and useful pitstops. - Actually good AI that doesn't have to cheat and can supposedly keep up with esports players. - Better AI should make the PI system more accurate as it's based on simulated AI lap times. - Challenge the grid, so you don't have to ram your way through a field of cars and can closely race with the front pack. - I personally like the upgrade system but it's controversial so we won't take that as an objective positive. - The layout of the career mode looks great and it seems to be how live service content will be added (without horizon Playlist style fomo). - There are no wheelspins to shatter progression. - Proper spec series racing in multiplayer. - The physics, while marketed poorly are a genuine improvement and should solve past problems like RNG kerbs. - Tracks are much more detailed, not only visually but physically too with higher poly collisions. - realtime lighting looks worse but has great gameplay improvements by finally allowing full time of day, not to mention improved dynamic weather. - rubbering in is also a thing which is great. - power shifting is gone. - wheels now turn at a higher angle. - many assists are now fixed as to not be a major detriment to lap times. Need I go on?
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M you asked for gameplay improvements. I gave them to you. There's a lot more there than any other forza game has added As for how I know things are fixed? Because that's what we've been shown and told outright. If you're skeptical that's fine but there's no evidence to the contrary until we get hands on so it's all we have to go off. As for the tracks... I could go into realtime global illumination, pbr materials, all that jazz, and explain why you might not like the look of them, but the short story is that the actual geometric quality is a lot better and kerbs have been confirmed to have 3d collisions rather than the old random noise applied to the suspension as you go over them.
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M you can't criticise a game for not having something that's been promised, just because it's not out yet. Unless there's evidence to the contrary, the only options are to assume what's been stated is true, or avoid conversations about unreleased products entirely.
Thank you for speaking on this and I'm sure they saw your comment on "X" hopefully more streams from the community will get the point across to them this is just ridiculous at this point and no way they built that car list from the ground up
What you are saying is true. I doubt call of duty will put such restrictions on guns where a user will have to play with one gun for x number of hours to unlock attachments just so that they can use that gun for a series of Multiplayer modes. This will never work.
Well said! If they’re gonna keep models from prior Forza they should at least keep the fun features too! We used to be able to hand pick what AI cars we drove against, even being able to pick cars from our own garage! It was so fun, & added so much creative freedom! But the feature has been gone since FM4! We NEED this back! PLEASE T10!
Am I the only one willing to wait 5-6 years for a COMPLETE Racing sim game at launch, as opposed to something that is 50% complete after a 2-4 year dev time?
“I don’t care about the graphics, as long as the game is fun” *Continues to complain about the graphics* I’m convinced at this point that people don’t even listen to the words coming out of their own mouths, lol.
complaining about an ugly as hell wing model that has been reused for almost a decade and is still the ONLY option for most cars that allows adjustable aero, meaning you HAVE to install it if you want your car to perform the best =/= complaining about graphical fidelity???? the whole point is that forza is continuing to tout "advanced" graphical features that sound fancy in a presentation to make the game look marginally closer to reality than the last one in some barely noticeable way, while refusing to fix or change things that people have complained about for several games in a row. they could give the wing 10 trillion polygons and 40000k textures and the most advanced lighting system known to man and it would still look worse than if they just brought back the old forza wing model from forza 4.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the progression system unconvincing. The same thought occurred to me. They simply want to stretch out the playing time. From what I've seen, the career mode is otherwise structured the same as in the previous couple of games. I had imagined something completely different in terms of progression. For example, lower payouts, fewer gifts, the brand affinity system from previous games. With the xp points they could have limited which cup you can race in next. So that you can only race a certain cup when you reach a certain level. That would have made more sense to me.
The more I hear of this on new forza games the more I can compare the company to twitter seems like they could lose 80% of workers just there to get a paycheck
They need to also add more customizations. Like tail/head lights, more body kits, bring back adding vinyl to windows, and add previews of liveries on your own car before you select to use it.
Doesn't matter if it's built from the ground up or upside down built on the ground, they decided to cater to ESG and even in small amounts that's going to turn people away.
Ive cancelled xbox live, game pass, ect im done with it all. I have all the old school games i could want, they dont req internet or paid subscriptions and wont try to sell me in game items/currency and wont show me adds.
I think the reason why they’re keeping the car models is because having a newer model would mean that people designs and liveries for the cars would have to be scrapped, as well.
I was cautiously optimistic. Don't get me wrong, I loved FM7 until it quit loving my sim gear upgrading (multi inputs don't jive). But, this sort of customization bs just sealed the deal to allocate those funds elsewhere. I really wish we'd get a good Forza or Gran Turismo style game on PC I like the grind of saving up money and buying cars, buying parts, and yes, when I'm flush with in game cash, blowing it on upgrades all at once.
It really is mind boggling as to why Forza, no matter how hard they try, can’t get anywhere close to being an actual competitor to Gran Turismo. That just goes to show , even with the vast amount of resources you know Microsoft is throwing at this to make it succeed… What it really comes down to is the raw talent and leadership of a team to produce the best product. There’s only so much money can buy.
Oh it actually became a good competitor to GT and surpassed it at some points vert long time ago. Now we have two good products GT and Forza and both have pros and cons, and both have some shortcuts here and they're. Let's see after the release how good/bad that is in comparison to GT7.
Honestly i kinda like the idea of the new progression system I like the idea of having to put time and effort into a car and upgrading it gradually, kinda in a way trying to parallel the experience and connection you’d get with a project car irl
What a bad excuse seriously in real life the only thing that would limit you is money this systhem is shitty at best you could have all the money you want in the game and not even upgrade a single thing
its way too much though, it would make more sense if they just did it by making it a bit harder to earn credits and lock classes of car behind a section of the game so for example you break all the cars into a bunch of categories (e.g. entry level daily drivers, high end daily drivers, warm hatches, hot hatches, super hatches, sports coupes, super coupes, sports cars, super cars, entry level race cars, pro-am race cars, pro race cars, extreme race cars, rally classics, rally modern, extreme offroaders (ie dakar type), race trucks, drag-street, drag-pro, drift-street, drift-pro) and then create a series of events you need to complete to unlock that entire category, then you can leave upgrades available from the start as long as you can afford them, then you could make it take say 3-5 hours of gameplay to unlock an entire category which is enough to make it feel well earned and making credits slightly harder to earn means youll still need to gradually upgrade the car as you run through those events and not just slap the top end upgrades immediately, but you're not then making us play for say 15 hours just to max out three cars of the same category (which noone would end up doing unless they were desperate to get the meta car after finding out their first choice was the anti-meta which wouldn't even be a problem if the game would be balanced better.)
The next generation of racing games is going to be crazy, Ubisoft making the best of the bunch and Forza literally digging their own grave, what a world to be alive...
The carpoints system sounds specifically designed to offer a microtransaction workaround. “Oh, you want to build your car without driving it for days on end? What if you just like… *give us a dollar?*
I really hope that there will be a demo for this game. It will help me to decide if I want to buy the game or not. There will probably be no demo but I will still appreciate a demo.

Not exactly what the community meant by progression lol
That's just unreasonable. The game was too easy in the past because they would throw money and cars at you for having a pass or playing a previous game. This just makes other progress you've made irrelevant when you switch vehicles.
It's ridiculous to think people making this feature thought It was a good idea for the game to be more enjoyable. Carlists grow so fast we usually don't even get a chance to drive them all, now we have even less of a reason to do so. They wanna put an emphasis on building our cars, give us control of our car on a test track where we can add/remove/adjust our car without loading screen or start/stop session shit.
@recklesscanyonrider5636 yup. The more I think about it the more of a turn off it is. If the crew mf is any good, I might just hold off on fms
Love when you drive a ‘99 car it looks like it was modeled for a cutscene from the same era. Real vintage feel, yuh’know?
The 360 games had the best looking Forza aero. A black boxy wing that, when attached to, say, an M3 or a Pontiac G8, _actually made it look like a GT or Trans Am car._

I'm glad that a well-known RUclipsr is raising this serious issue. While Forza keeps insisting that this is a new-generation game, it's actually filled with old content, models that should be retired, and the hated Aero Kit. But I think what's even worse is that a bunch of players think it's not a big deal, or even think we don't need to care about the appearance of the car.😮💨😮💨
Filled with old content? What, like 5 cars out of 500

The "built from the ground up" is as useless to me as "16x the deiail" from Fallout 76.
they should just add an APR "universal" wing to replace the forza wing
It would look better at least.

FM8 tried to repeat the GT5 recipe of using old model to bring the car roster up. Not going to work this time...
Quality over quantity. I would prefer to have like 30 Cars and 5 racing series from the beginning after game purchase than having hundres of cars that drive and sound the same -.-
Then dont complain about the lacl of cars then
Why can't they just do what they did in fh1 and fm4 in terms of progression where you start out with economy cars and low credit rewards.
If the Forza Aero is anything to go by...
If the pit stops in the game are the same non animated stop and go from 2005 I'm gonna be furious...

attempting to give cars personality by introducing "car points" and not by giving the cars actual unique traits is such a forza thing to do
I recently played through Nexomon Extinction, a Pokemon style game, and it really highlighted to me how Forza is taking a single element of those games and mistakenly thinking it will help their game to include that one element when all the other elements aren't there. Fortunately, it will probably be possible to AFK level up cars in FM if it has the same auto steering as FH5, and the devs will probably be quietly happy for players to do that, as it all racks up their time played stats.
Forza 3/4 had great progression
They still do simplified geometry with a smudge texture on the wheels once they move. Know when GT stopped doing that? 2007, in GTPrologue. Also, many mobile games even do actual rotational blur

That Evo VI model.. I didn't remember that older Forza models looked that off. It's comparable to something from Juiced 2.

Im not pre ordering or buying this game at launch because i think they are going to treat it as a live service game. and use these tactics to bring back old racing tracks and cars and brand them as *new*
Agreed. I will not be pre ordering and have been warning others against it. The hard core fans will still do it though.
The fact carx can get a character to steer the car at a realistic angle but forza cant is pathetic. Every forza game the steering wheel goes Halfway

I’d rather drop these cars totally no kill the whole Forza aero thing. We don’t even need janked up aero wings anyway
"Forza thinks you're stupid" For a while now, Forza is the kind of game that treats the user like a baby and holds your hand while at it.
- many assists are now fixed as to not be a major detriment to lap times.

complaining about an ugly as hell wing model that has been reused for almost a decade and is still the ONLY option for most cars that allows adjustable aero, meaning you HAVE to install it if you want your car to perform the best =/= complaining about graphical fidelity????
the whole point is that forza is continuing to tout "advanced" graphical features that sound fancy in a presentation to make the game look marginally closer to reality than the last one in some barely noticeable way, while refusing to fix or change things that people have complained about for several games in a row.
they could give the wing 10 trillion polygons and 40000k textures and the most advanced lighting system known to man and it would still look worse than if they just brought back the old forza wing model from forza 4.
*_If it’s not fun, why bother?_*
Will you import your crew 2 cars to motorfest
After a while!
Leveling a car to lvl.50 should take around 3 hours. But all parts will be unlocked at lvl.30, which should take around 1-2 hours.
And the last upgrades you unlock are engine swaps and drivetrain swaps, which you wouldn't use if you had at least a little love for the cars
Defending stupid decisions doesn't make them smart.
They need to also add more customizations. Like tail/head lights, more body kits, bring back adding vinyl to windows, and add previews of liveries on your own car before you select to use it.
The more content they show us from this game, the worse it gets

What it really comes down to is the raw talent and leadership of a team to produce the best product.
The more I learn about this game, the less excited I am, and the more I think I'm going to be playing FM4 until my disc turns to dust.
Honestly i kinda like the idea of the new progression system I like the idea of having to put time and effort into a car and upgrading it gradually, kinda in a way trying to parallel the experience and connection you’d get with a project car irl
good point
