The racing school in GT3 taught me a lot about driving before I was old enough to apply for a real driving license. So for that reason alone, its my nostalgic #1.
I used to think GT6 was the worst one but now I consider it the second to worst one as GT7 now has that title my 2 favorites will always be GT2 and GT4 though 1, 3, and 5 are still pretty good in there own right.
@@ChampionBlueRacing For me, GT4 is worse than GT3 in term of weight shifting where some cars like MR or FR have massive advantage while FF and 4WD have far more issue in cornering. In GT3, all FF cars corner properly without having lots of understeer even on stock tires while in GT4, they have massive understeer on cornering and eating the tires way too fast like they messed up the weight ratio on FF cars to the point where rear tires cant cope on corner and steering like a brick on concrete surface. The most favorite game for me is GT2 and GT3 while GT1 is good but too arcady like FF cars corner like a proper race-car, GT4 is good but they forget the physics element entirely in exchange of 700 cars cramped into 1 disc with both Arcade and Simulation at same time. GT5 is decent while GT6 is bad and GT7 definitely the WORST game ever made thanks to lots of MTX and GT Pass.
GT5 multiplayer was ahead of even GT7 when it came to a 'live service' model. Seasonal events meant new well paying drift trials, time trials, and ai races regularly added to the game, from launch. Car gifting, and car loaning was also a feature for players on your friend list. The open lobbies had much more features than the GT7 version, with shuffle racing, drivetrain layout restrictions, player vote kick, host migration, along with everything we have in GT7 lobbies. B-Spec even had multiplayer, and you could race your friends drivers, and every player with a horse in the race would get rewarded.
Don't forget multiplayer was free on PS3 and now you have to pay Sony for using multiplayer when it is already included in the game's high price of £70 (price was from Motorfest don't quote me on that)
I spent so much time in an official drag racing lobby online in GT5 It would just be people rolling up on one of the straights at Indianapolis road course and just trying to tune their cars to win. The Bugatti was banned since it was “unbeatable” but I had an ACR viper that you needed to start in 3rd gear that would beat them… taught me about weight transfer and the way to get ideal grip and all that. Sometimes there were PP limits or car types and it was fun to see how much of a difference small tunes would make (like making the rear suspension softer in a RWD to get the power down better or even adding a ballast to the rear of the car to get a better launch, messing with the gearing to stay in the power band etc etc etc)
19:23 Theo’s reaction to the interior gauge customization is awesome, lol. I am surprised interior gauge customization hasn’t returned to Gran Turismo 7 yet, considering we already have roll cage customization. It’s certainly a possible feature that Polyphony can add in a future update. Still love Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2 though. So many race events you could participate in, along with the various license tests and missions. Mission 34 with the Mercedes Benz SLR Mclaren was a challenge but it is one of the best ways in my opinion in learning how to master the Nurburgring at the time.
GT6 is hailed as "the worst" because it has the worst sales numbers compared to other GT games. The unfortunate reality was that GT6 was released for the PS3 just after the PS4 had been launched, which hurt its sales dramatically. Secondly, Polyphony was trying to do too much in terms of graphical effects and the PS3's limitations only became more pronounced with all the screen tearing. But other than those issues, it was still an excellent racing game that came out at the wrong time.
GT6 also has triple the amount of cars from 7. GT6 had 1298 and 166 tracks including the one from Spec II mod whilst 7 only had 87 tracks and 499 cars.

GT5 is one of the main reason as well as Top Gear and F1 why I love cars now, I used to play that game in any spare time that I had growing up on the old PS3. Many fond memories
Me too. Even Coco Hayashi and Ayumu Uehara also still have copies from GT5 and 6. GT5 and 6 still great despite release dates being quite rushed and Yamauchi considered PS3 Gran Turismo games are nightmare.
I remember being a little kid while playing GT5 and wondering why the game was so incredibly difficult. Then several months later while messing around I learned that you could upgrade cars. How on earth I progressed as far as I did with stock cars only I do not know. Loved that game. Spent most of my summer playing endurance races over and over. My parents would leave for work and comeback to see me still playing the same race.
I spent time modding my old PS3 to play GT5 Mastermod and GT6 Spec II mod. The classic tracks being added is a really nice addition along side being able to buy any car in the game.
GT6 is a great game that released at a bad time. While it has some changes, I can't say those changes are bad exactly. It's a shorter overall experience, but it still offers plenty of content and easily the best long track in the whole franchise. And the way the handling model was upgraded from 5 is pretty damn great. I'd argue GT PSP is one of the weaker titles, seeing as it is a good racing game that forgot to have an actual career. While GT1 is a very short game, it still does have some sort of a career at least, while PSP has a baffling progression system. Also I just wanna add that GT5 is the game that introduced aero kits into the series. You could finally customize some of the bodykits for some cars. And you could even add a carbon hood. ... Why are there no carbon parts in GT7?
My PS3 froze during an update, and then upon a forced reboot (I had to), everything was wiped. This was before I had PS Plus. I lost many hours of Gran Turismo 5 gameplay. Because it hurt so much, I got rid of my PS3 and swapped it for a PS4. It was the original PS3, with 2 controllers and a load of games... I got £20. I have regretted this decision for 8 years
To be fair, you can install all data from the GT5 settings, says it would take around 50 minutes but saves lots of time if you plan on playing through it again lol
Gt2 gt4 and gt6 had the best car list. If gt7 gave us every car from gt6 and tracks, gt7 would be the best racing game for this generation and probably the next generation. But gt6 was a good game
GT6 was the worst GT not because of the content. There was many cars and many customisation. The graphics was also good and the physic wasn't this bad. But the Carrer mode ... Oh my god the carrer mode was a shame. It was to easy and to short. and when you remember it's the principal mode of the game ...
Im thankful I was able to experience GT5 and GT6 during their hayday. Multiplayer on those games were a treat. Gift exchanges, car shows, Special Stage Route X drag races, Route 7 cruises, the list goes on. However, Gran Turismo 2 and Gran Turismo 3 are my favorites. I'm not a social bug, so a proper single player experience is what I'm drawn to. GT Sport and Gran Turismo 7, they didn't hold a light to any of its predecessors. The focus on multiplayer, competition, and punishing the audience for their every mistake... I didn't like it at all. I liked car collectathons and the freedom of going my own pace... So, games like Forza Horizon and The Crew are now my thing. I don't see myself playing a Gran Turismo game in the future, but I will reminisce on it every once in a while.
I remember watching videos on GT6 when it cam out, and from what I recall this was the start of microtransactions in the game, which was obviously a huge sticking point, and so was the fact that they released the game exclusively on PS3 , when the PS4 was already out. I also clearly remember people complaining that the tracks felt visually empty and uninteresting, with basicly nothing going on in the distance, making it look and feel like the tracks were basicly floating in the ether, rather than real world places... I have to agree with that assessment
Since GT7 is a letdown and GT5 and GT6 are finally playable on RPCS3 emulator ( way faster load times) I can see people rather playing these older titles. I really enjoy playing GT6 on PC right now. It has a servicable Single- player, good cars, good graphics. It forces you into a Honda Fit at the start and still has some lower poly cars, sounds are like vaccuumcleaner.. But its got the same lame AI as every other modern GT- titles ( always rolling start, always trying to overtake the whole field because AI is so slow). Most fun I had in it was in slower cars, missions and licenses. Its a shame the the " Real Driving Simulator" cant have good AI till this day ( apart from the short GT Sophie demo in GT7).
Theo you have to drive that LFA for us all, its a car im sure everybody is calling out to for GT7. We need to see that puppy in action, be it GT5 or GT6, so it can howl for its return in GT7
GT6 made a big step back with the campaign and online features (notably the shuffle mode and community/friend sharing). It made you buy the Honda Fit and the star system for progression was straight out of a mobile game, and limited the ways you could navigate the career compared to 5. There were also less special events and photo locations (especially at launch), and it made the game feel much smaller despite having more cars and tracks than GT5. The big killer was the stuff that was delayed from launch, like B-Spec and especially the track builder. That was supposed to be GT6’s “killer app”, but it didn’t get added until nearly 3 years after release, and you needed a tablet app to actually make the tracks, and it all got shut down anyways since the upload and save features were tied to the servers, which were killed off around 6 months after GT Sport came out. I’m that brief 2-3 year window when the course maker was out GT6 really hit its stride, but that was it. GT5 is still largely playable as it was when the servers were up, just no more car sharing and shuffle lobbies. You can still use it’s course “generator” feature, there’s like 20 special events, campaign feels dynamic and long, I still love it. It absolutely has XP balance optimization and loading issues, and bad design calls (paint chips), but I still vastly prefer 5’s overall playthrough experience

There is custom mods for GT5 and GT6 called Gran Turismo 5 Master Mod and Gran Turismo 6 Spec II but you'll need your PS3 to have custom firmware to be able to play them.
GT5, The two issues that I think hurt the game was the leveling system that exponentially got longer between levels the further you progressed and separating B-Spec as it's own career, keeping it integrated like GT4 it would of had a purpose, like it's predecessor 24 endurance races you could have a co-driver instead of doing the race solo in GT5, why most people probably didn't attempt the longer races. GT6, it felt like they where in a hurry to move onto the PS4, just didn't spend much time developing the career mode, eliminating endurance races, all the cars unlocked, removing the purpose of attempting events, I think GT3 had more career events.
GT6 is my favourite in the series, just for the sheer amount and variety of cars and tracks. Sure, the career was weaker, but the replay value was there because you could replay those events with hundreds of different cars set up in different ways and have a completely new experience, not to mention the limitless potential of custom races.
GT PSP into GT5 was awesome, I played so much GT during that time. GT prologue was also pretty cool and GT HD lol. GT6 should have just been on PS4 and it would have been fine.
Theo GT6 is better than GT5 , unless you like wasting paint chips and slower load times ... Both titles have been made better with mods tho, (*jailbreaked PS3 required*)

this is a nother example of moderngaming/hardware has done to people:/ because gt5 looks really goodn even gt4 does....
Nothing will beat the original for me as that was a game I spent so much time playing as a youngster
Agree.
There is custom mods for GT5 and GT6 called Gran Turismo 5 Master Mod and Gran Turismo 6 Spec II but you'll need your PS3 to have custom firmware to be able to play them.
Another great upload by Mr. Pants. Keep up the good work 💪❤️
I have 4-6. 6 i really love but i wish it had GT5 graphics and tracks
You could preinstall the content of the disc of gt5 on the HDD and reduce the load times.
Seems that he totally forgot that..!
Totally did forget 😂
That cool looking helmet for Tomhawk looks nice in GT6 but is a shame we never get that type in a future.
I'm playing Gran Turismo 4 for the first time now and it automatically became my favorite racing game of all time.
Was that you In Rory's stream lastnight? If so great to see you getting more in to sport mode!
Pants man did you know you can use a ps5 controller on ps3 if you connect it by cable its been tested and it worked before
Sir Pantz being the narrator of the intro is the one for me
As much as I enjoyed GT5 still, It was the worst in the Series for me personally, GT6 is my second best after 4 💯💯
On GT5 you can preinstall the install data in the settings for faster loading.
Yeah the worst thing about GT6 is the time it came out :/
Meanwhile i have both and still play them from time to time😅
The frame rate and screen tearing in GT6 drove me nuts. I just couldn't make myself get into it.
Gt 6 is a masterpiece
GT7 needs to bring back those interior gauges to match perfectly with their Engine Swap feature.
6:56 *If the GT86 and a Lexus LFA had a baby*
Being the worst in the franchise doesn't mean the game is bad.. that Arcade song is so beautiful...
Now that the Fans have revived servers GT5 and GT6 I just play online every day
I loved GT5 I've never skipped the intro.
GT5 was my favorite GT game❤
GT5 was the reason I bought a ps3 the intro was amazing. Still the only one I've played but I'm interested in the new one. I'd love to go back and see what the older ones are like
GT6 intro movie (All My Life), GT5's Intro of GO! from My Chemical Romance and Colorful Dreams Colorful Smiles from Nijigasaki are undoubtedly TOP 3 BEST SONGS OF ALLTIME!
There's features I miss from both gran turismo 5 and 6 that's a shame they didn't add to the later games. Shame all my save data from both games were corrupted as the ps3 itself corrupted
You should check out the GT5 master mod. If brings in many features some new and some hidden. And it also brings back the online servers
Is it easy to install? What app does it run on?
It's not like GT6 was bad, but all the others were better
Quite the trip down memory lane! I like it 😀👍
Glad you enjoyed it
@@BlackPanthaaTheo, Colorful Dreams Colorful Smiles, All My Life and GO! from My Chemical Romance are in my opinion, my ALL TIME TOP 3 BEST SONGS! Wanna listen Colorful Dreams Colorful Smiles, Blackpanthaa? Give that song a try! 😊
How did you manage to install all GT6 updates in one go? It's been said to update just a few in a row, because installing all at the same time would cause the update installation to crash.
I still play GT5 UP to this day
Personally I was super confused when lots of people hated gt6!
It was my FAVORITE (and still is) Racing game of all time!
(Even though it was the third one I played)
The order I played the games I have in:
Gt3,Gt4,Gt6,Gt5,Gtsport,Gt7,Gt2
"Scapes" actually started in GT4, just evolved with each game since
You can preinstall the GT5 core data all at once from the options menu fyi
Gran Turismo 1, 2 , 3 and 5. "Seattle Circuit" miss these kind of tracks
You need to play the gt5 Mastermod! It adds old tracks, cars, and the online servers back!
Yep. All tracks from Gran Turismo 3 and 4 and Pikes Peak Downhill from Gran Turismo 2 are returned.
It's not a game It's a racing sim 😉
You should do a video trying to get gold on every licenses test in gt games !
I have the original GT1 and GT2 on the PS1 and GT2 did got 2 discs what was kinda crazy that time full campaign mode on a second Disk
the trasition at 7:44 was hilarious 🤣
22:34
Me: immediately searches it up
GT6 deserved to be on PS4
GT6 was my first Gran Turismo. And I loved it so much
...i still cant understand why GT6 had no anti aliasing...the jaggies where brutal
Kinda feel sad that GT6 is considered the most hated game. It had the most unhinged bugs and some whacky stuff which kept me laughing. It never crashed on me and never felt like a bad game. I feel like GT7 was more of a downgrade in comparison but then again im not about graphics im about enjoyment in this context; this game had so much that the following games never wanted to pick up on, honestly
The tracks were great in GT5. I wish theyd bring some of the city circuits back in GT 7
Ahh gt5 was the exact same for me. Started playing that then gt6 🤪
Revisiting GT6 makes me think It’s a Underrated game.
I dont know who's saying GT6 was the worst but for me, it was one of the best, GT 4 was also amazing, something that i miss is the interior customization and the track editor from GT5
Oh man, Theo! You didn't even start playing from Gran Turismo 3 at least or 4! The license tests in GT4 were the hardest! You been missing out!
PANTS YOU ARE SPEAKING FACTS MY MAN. ABSOLUTE LEGEND
